00:00 FUBU obviously to me was a big part of my generation.
00:02 I came up during that time, it was huge.
00:03 And I love to see people still wearing FUBU.
00:06 What's the brand or something you see people wearing
00:08 that you love people to wear again?
00:10 Maybe even make a comeback.
00:12 - Levi's.
00:14 I love seeing people wear Levi's.
00:16 I like the brand Actively Black.
00:19 It's another version of FUBU, reminds me of that.
00:21 A lot of people wearing FUBU lately too.
00:24 I love seeing that 'cause it's Drake and those people.
00:26 But I'm trying to think of another brand that I really,
00:28 you know what, a lot of the first hip hop brands
00:30 were like Alessi, LeCogs Sportif.
00:33 - Yeah, yeah.
00:34 - Like those tennis brands.
00:35 I would love to see those come back.
00:36 - What's the brand, what's the product or anything
00:38 that people pitch you the most?
00:39 It's like, I don't even know how many times
00:41 people pitch me.
00:42 - T-shirt companies.
00:43 'Cause they're gonna say that I've come up in the t-shirt
00:46 and clothing business.
00:48 I get pitched that a lot.
00:49 - What's the best thing when it comes to marketing?
00:51 The biggest advice you get to someone when it comes
00:53 to marketing a product, a brand, anything?
00:55 - Stick with the core four or five people
00:57 that really are obsessed with you
00:59 and your really core group.
01:01 Because people will come and go,
01:02 but the ones that are really obsessed with you,
01:03 if you over provide for them, they will be yours forever.
01:08 And you can't buy that.
01:09 - Yeah.
01:11 Obviously people always say when they,
01:12 the business mentors, the Warren Buffets,
01:14 the Ray Dalios of the world, everyone loves,
01:15 hears those names.
01:16 Who are the people now that you really admire or respect
01:19 that they're doing the financial and investment world?
01:21 - That I respect in the finance and investment world?
01:24 - Yeah, just like those, we always hear the Ray Dalios
01:26 and Warren Buffets.
01:27 We've heard those stories, but is there any
01:28 of these new age people that we see?
01:30 'Cause we're on social media,
01:31 we see all these new entrepreneurs.
01:32 Everyone's like, "Oh, this one."
01:33 - There's so many.
01:34 What I like to tell people is there's no one place
01:37 to get information.
01:38 And what I tell people, if they have a lack
01:41 of financial intelligence or they wanna have
01:43 more financial intelligence, I say,
01:46 put 10 to 20 Instagram accounts, don't buy anything,
01:49 that talk about whatever it is, right?
01:51 Bitcoin, financially stable, whatever.
01:53 And just follow them and scroll through it naturally
01:57 and it'll become part of your feed.
01:58 And in a year, you'll go, "Wait a minute,
02:01 I understand what GDP is."
02:03 I, you know, like walking in Shark Tank.
02:05 Now you know what a royalty is,
02:07 now you know what a margin is,
02:08 now you know what perpetuity is, right?
02:10 And just get accustomed to seeing what these things are
02:15 and then you get curious.
02:16 - Lastly, NFTs, do you see them making a comeback
02:19 or are they still, they're not even going anywhere?
02:21 Like, do you still, everyone was a year ago
02:23 so about them and now--
02:24 - You know, I think digital art is still there
02:26 and I think that if nobody's talking about NFTs,
02:29 that's when you should be talking about it.
02:30 - Yeah.
02:31 - Right, because, you know, Bitcoin, you know,
02:33 has gone down and it's starting to go back up
02:35 and variously, when people stop talking about it
02:38 is when you start talking about it.
02:40 If it's something you like.
02:43 - Love it, and next month, I think you're doing
02:45 something with Apollo, this is the second year--
02:47 - Yes.
02:47 - Can you tell me about that?
02:48 - Yeah, this is the fourth year that I will be doing
02:50 Black Entrepreneurs Day at the Apollo Theater
02:52 where I will be giving away almost $250,000 again,
02:56 almost hit the million dollar mark to black businesses
02:59 and I'll be highlighting, we'll be,
03:01 we'll be there--
03:03 - Anthony Anderson, Shaq.
03:04 - Anthony Anderson, Shaq, Rick Ross,
03:08 so again, live at the Apollo Theater
03:10 and you guys have all been very supportive of it.
03:12 Thank you.
03:13 - That's awesome, man, good to see you, my friend.
