00:00 Nuggets a five and a half point favorite on trophy night on
00:03 better night as a new season begins in their path to repeat
00:07 also gets underway. Five and a half points. J Y the spread
00:11 against the Lakers. What do you think the atmosphere is like
00:15 tonight in a mile high city? It's going to be electric and
00:18 obviously it says five, but yes, it is up to five and a half. I
00:21 think I saw it four and a half last night, so it is moving.
00:25 Remember there's no Jared Vanderbilt in the lineup
00:27 tonight for the Lakers. We'll see about Gabe Vincent. He is
00:31 probable to play for the Lakers, but when you look at
00:34 this game guys, I think there's something to an NBA opening
00:40 night ring ceremonies at home. It throws off everybody's
00:46 routine. You you started shooting around at a certain
00:48 time. You go in the locker room a certain time you warm up for
00:52 a certain time and then you start the game so that then to
00:55 see that interrupted and then you have LeBron James on the
00:59 other side like seething because he knew he may have had
01:01 one slip away last year with them not winning that Western
01:05 Conference final versus Nuggets. I actually do love
01:08 the Lakers plus the five and a half points like I told you
01:12 they played the games very very closely during the Western
01:16 Conference finals and I think this is going to be a game
01:18 where they're going to be extremely motivated. Listen
01:21 folks. There's been a lot. It's been amazing. There's been a
01:24 lot of trash talking going back and forth between the two
01:28 organizations that started really quickly after you know
01:31 Mike Malone made comments about you know, maybe LeBron
01:34 making excuses so on and so forth and 80 LeBron making
01:38 comments. It's going to be a fun atmosphere. The NBA got
01:42 this one right having this game tip off the season. That being
01:45 said, give me the Lakers plus five and a half. I like where
01:49 we're going on their coach also because the one thing I've
01:51 always said the NBA doesn't miss in big spots. The NBA
01:54 provides. They could have easily slid in like San Antonio
01:56 with Web and Yama in this game or Golden State Warriors just
01:59 to add some star power, but they knew what they had here
02:01 that powder keg over the summer building where one
02:04 franchise feels slated from the other one teeing it up
02:06 tonight. It's only one of 82, but it feels like a much much
02:09 bigger game than it is now from a handicapping perspective
02:12 coach. We always like to talk about this the evolution of the
02:15 season. You're finding your rotations early. You know
02:18 sometime come around December January February. You know
02:20 where you stand then you're just trying to get healthy for
02:22 the playoffs, but from a total perspective, they do has this
02:25 game listed at 228 tonight. It's in elevation. It's game
02:28 number one. What can we expect from a scoring output? Are there
02:31 props that you like on certain players? Maybe to the over or
02:34 under or just a genuine handicap of the game. Do you
02:36 lean unders or overs? It doesn't matter early in the
02:39 season. I don't think it doesn't matter. I think you'll
02:42 get a really solid effort out of the Lakers defensively, but
02:45 when you start looking at props gotta remember, I just
02:47 talked about Jared Vanderbilt out. Who am I looking at who
02:51 played really well against Denver? How about Rui
02:54 Hachimor over nine and a half points? This is someone that
02:57 can get out of the fast break. You can excel. You can play him
03:00 at the four spot and start him. He can lead that second group.
03:04 He can shoot it from three. He looks really comfortable and
03:07 he's starting to play better down the stretch. So Rui
03:10 Hachimor at nine and a half points is something that I'm
03:13 looking at, especially with Jared Vanderbilt being out and
03:17 on the other side. I talked about Michael Porter Junior's
03:20 rebounds prop is at over five and a half at minus 106. Now
03:24 this is the Michael Porter Junior at six foot ten and needs
03:27 to be better defensively and rebounding and we all know
03:30 that's the case, but I don't know if I told you that 11 of
03:34 his last 15 games, including all four games in the Western
03:36 Conference Finals, Michael Porter Junior went over five and
03:40 a half rebounds. Now, if Joker is going to have to deal with
03:43 you know, AD and there's talk. There is talk about AD
03:50 stepping out. Darby Hamill wanting to shoot more threes.
03:52 So if Joker goes out, that means who's gotta go in that
03:56 lends itself to Michael Porter, Michael Porter Junior over
03:59 five and a half rebounds tonight.
