00:06 Welcome to WatchMojo
00:08 and today we're counting down our picks
00:10 for the most hilarious
00:12 and weirdest incidents to be caught
00:14 on live broadcast.
00:16 We are back at 7 tomorrow night
00:18 until then that is Channel 4 News.
00:20 Number 10
00:24 Enjoying the ride
00:26 In 2019 BBC journalist Tom Brook
00:28 was in Mumbai, India
00:30 for a special episode of his talking movie show.
00:32 Streaming services are changing the movie business
00:34 in many different parts of the world
00:36 including here in India.
00:38 But instead of listening to Brook talk
00:40 something far more bonkers
00:42 caught our attention.
00:44 The reporter was being driven in a rickshaw
00:46 and speaking to the camera when a man on a scooter
00:48 appeared in the background.
00:50 From me Tom Brook and the rest of the production crew
00:52 here in Mumbai, it's goodbye
00:54 as we leave you with a clip from Gully Boy.
00:56 What made the bystander stand out
00:58 is that a white dog was holding onto him
01:00 nonchalantly with his front paws
01:02 seemingly enjoying the scenic drive.
01:04 The canine's posture and poise
01:06 on the scooter was quite impressive.
01:08 To make matters even more amazing
01:10 social media discovered
01:12 other videos of the same pup
01:14 during that fateful journey.
01:16 Number 9
01:22 Multitasking Failure
01:24 We get it, life is busy
01:26 and sometimes we all get caught with our noses
01:28 buried in our phones.
01:30 But smartphone users walk with their heads down.
01:32 They have no clue
01:34 what's going on around them.
01:36 Let's just make sure we're not on live television
01:38 when we do it.
01:40 During this unfortunately serious news story
01:42 about a financial deficit in Ontario
01:44 one unlucky pedestrian
01:46 made that exact mistake.
01:48 The tumble is enough to inspire
01:50 onlookers that are standing from
01:52 several gallops away to run to her side.
01:54 What's particularly hilarious is that
02:00 the newscaster remains completely oblivious.
02:02 He either doesn't hear any of the
02:04 commotion behind him or he's just
02:06 really committed to the story.
02:08 Any way that you look or don't
02:10 look at it, both of these people
02:12 are a lesson in minding your
02:14 surroundings.
02:16 Number 8
02:18 Who secures the security?
02:20 We've all had accidents at work.
02:22 "Hello? Can I get some help?
02:24 Snack related mishap."
02:26 But not many of us
02:30 had them broadcast to millions around the world.
02:32 Unfortunately,
02:34 that's what happened to one security guard
02:36 in 2018 when Fox Sports
02:38 covered the post game of a Washington
02:40 Nationals game. As the broadcasters
02:42 chatted, a Bryce Harper fan
02:44 snuck into the background to showcase his
02:46 love for the player with a tiny
02:48 t-shirt. "Another power display
02:50 by your Atlanta Braves
02:52 and of course we have a situation
02:54 where we're gonna get you downstairs now."
02:56 The fan quickly left at security approach
02:58 but he easily escaped since
03:00 the guard tripped and went straight down
03:02 into the ground. The guard quickly
03:04 slinked off the camera, seemingly unhurt
03:06 except for his broken pride.
03:08 "Ow, my
03:10 pride." Number
03:12 7. Money Mop.
03:14 A man attending the Galway Horse
03:16 Racing in Ireland in 2013
03:18 stole attention with his expensive
03:20 reaction to a mundane event.
03:22 "There he was in the background of an
03:24 interview taking place at a horse race
03:26 in Ireland." As Barry
03:28 Orr was being interviewed, rain was
03:30 steadily coming down. Among the
03:32 small crowd that had gathered stood one
03:34 man who realized his face was
03:36 covered in water. So, he
03:38 searched inside his pocket for something to dry
03:40 off. Probably a handkerchief, right?
03:42 "When you're wet or sweaty, this is how
03:44 most folks mop up." Nope.
03:46 He seemingly grabbed a 50
03:48 Euro note worth a little over
03:50 50 dollars US to mop
03:52 up his dripping face before putting
03:54 it back in his pocket. The casual
03:56 use of cash definitely raised
03:58 eyebrows. Additionally,
04:00 some wonder why the man didn't use that
04:02 money to buy an actual handkerchief.
04:04 "Guy who used a Euro note to mop
04:06 up raindrops could have left his cash
04:08 in his pocket if he had supporters like
04:10 Mitt Romney did." Number
04:12 6. Cold plunge.
04:14 Cell phones, walking,
04:16 and water are a terrible
04:18 recipe. "A woman is at the mall texting someone
04:20 doesn't notice the giant fountain right
04:22 in front of her. Topples right in.
04:24 Fortunately, she wasn't hurt, at least not
04:26 physically." In 2014,
04:28 that mixture claimed another
04:30 victim. MTV Lebanon was
04:32 conducting an interview at a dock. At
04:34 the same time, a bystander stepped
04:36 up to either grab a pic of the crew,
04:38 the water, or just a selfie.
04:40 In the end, he only captured
04:42 a very wet photo. The bystander
04:44 ended up stumbling off the
04:46 dock and plunging into the water
04:48 below. Both the crew and the man
04:50 giving an interview seemingly remained
04:52 unfazed during the unexpected dive.
04:54 While the bystander did hold on
04:56 to his phone, there's no word
04:58 if it survived the plunge. "Watch
05:00 the guy taking the selfie."
05:02 Number 5.
05:04 Last minute celebration.
05:06 It can be hard to hide your excitement
05:08 when your team wins a game at the
05:10 last minute. "Things like that for at least
05:12 what, two months?"
05:14 Channel 4 staff saw this
05:16 first hand in 2023.
05:18 As anchor Karen Jenkins was coming
05:20 to the end of his broadcast, reporter
05:22 George Ingalls was in a newsroom in the
05:24 background watching an intense game.
05:26 "That's all we have time for this evening.
05:28 We are back at 7
05:30 tomorrow night." Arsenal was facing
05:32 Manchester United in the English
05:34 Premier League. Near the end of the
05:36 game, it was 1-all.
05:38 But the Gunners fired in 2 goals
05:40 to win the game 3-1.
05:42 "Finds Jesus!
05:44 Gabriel Jesus! Back from entry!
05:46 Back with a bang!
05:48 And that is the icing on top of the cake!"
05:50 Ingalls passion filled and
05:52 fist pumping celebration was caught
05:54 on Channel 4 in all its glory.
05:56 As a funny follow up,
05:58 Ingalls owned up to being a scene stealer
06:00 on Twitter. Number 4.
06:02 Exaggerating the weather.
06:04 If there's one thing you expect from
06:06 the Weather Channel, it's that it accurately
06:08 reports on the forecast. "Power outage
06:10 numbers are mounting here. The rain
06:12 is intense. We're not only under a
06:14 hurricane warning, but also a flash flood warning."
06:16 But something strange was afoot
06:18 when reporter Mike Seidel was covering
06:20 Hurricane Florence in North Carolina.
06:22 On camera, Seidel was seemingly
06:24 battling the elements that nature was
06:26 throwing at him. He heroically delivered
06:28 his coverage while struggling to stay
06:30 on his feet. "I don't want to be chased anymore
06:32 so... Mike,
06:34 take a leak." Suddenly,
06:36 two men wearing shorts were seen
06:38 enjoying a leisurely, yet wet
06:40 stroll in the background. Either
06:42 they were both built differently,
06:44 or Seidel was being a
06:46 bit dramatic. The Weather Channel
06:48 later stated the weatherman was having trouble
06:50 with the wet grass and was exhausted.
06:52 "It's important to note that the two individuals
06:54 in the background are walking on concrete
06:56 while Seidel tries to maintain
06:58 his footing on wet grass.
07:00 The spokesperson goes on to say Seidel was
07:02 exhausted after reporting on air
07:04 until 1am. Ultimately,
07:06 it's up to you to decide whether Seidel was
07:08 overselling the storm or not.
07:10 Number 3. Flower
07:12 Power. Sometimes,
07:14 you really need a drink of water.
07:16 "Drink up, doobie-boo."
07:18 "You truly are the
07:22 King of Kings."
07:24 "Excellent."
07:26 But not many of
07:28 us have done what Frank Treese did to
07:30 quench his thirst in 2014.
07:32 As politician Patty Kim was
07:34 celebrating a big win, ABC27's
07:36 Dave Marcheski was reporting
07:38 from a bar in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
07:40 Behind him sat a man named
07:42 Frank Treese. "Hey guys, Kim says she
07:44 has two more years to fight under that green
07:46 dome, which is visible right here at
07:48 Cafe 1500 in Midtown, where the
07:50 victory party has died down a bit."
07:52 After the seated patron was spotted
07:54 eyeing a flower vase in one moment of footage,
07:56 the camera cut away to B-Roll.
07:58 When the camera returned to the reporter,
08:00 Treese was seen picking up the vase,
08:02 smelling it, and drinking its water.
08:04 "Kim asked her and her supporters to
08:06 say a prayer for Gina Roberson, who
08:08 remains hospitalized for a stress-related
08:10 illness." The reported employee
08:12 for CBS21 was seemingly
08:14 impressed by the flowery flavor
08:16 as he raised it to the camera and
08:18 tried it again. Number
08:20 2. Creepy Cane. It's not
08:22 every day that a sports broadcaster lets
08:24 out their inner Hannibal Lecter.
08:26 "A census taker once tried to test me.
08:28 I ate his liver
08:30 with some fava beans
08:32 and a nice Chianti."
08:34 Then again, not
08:36 every reporter is Rich King.
08:38 He was attending an interview with Chicago Bears
08:40 icon Matt Forte after
08:42 they beat the New York Giants in 2013.
08:44 In the background,
08:46 King stared a hole through Forte
08:48 with a harrowing and unblinking
08:50 expression. "Moving the ball, kind of
08:52 keeping good time possession
08:54 and not having any turnovers
08:56 out there." If that wasn't unsettling
08:58 enough, the reporter began slowly
09:00 licking his lips over and
09:02 over again. King's explanation
09:04 for the bizarre behavior made things
09:06 even weirder. According to him,
09:08 he said that some old physical
09:10 issues put him into a weird position
09:12 that prompted the expression.
09:14 Whatever the reason, we can't
09:16 forget this awkward and funny moment.
09:18 "When you have an awkward position
09:20 and you got a sore neck and a sore back,
09:22 what happens is you, I guess you
09:24 contort your face like I did. I don't know what I was doing.
09:26 I was totally unaware of it.
09:28 I didn't realize what I was doing."

09:38 occasional videos or all of them.
09:40 If you're on your phone, make sure you go into
09:42 your settings and switch on notifications.
09:44 Number 1.
09:48 The perfect video bomb.
09:50 If appearing in meetings remotely
09:52 has taught us anything, it's that Robert
09:54 Kelly's infamous incident can
09:56 easily happen to anyone. "Scandals happen all
09:58 the time. The question is how do democracies
10:00 respond to those scandals? And what will it
10:02 mean for the wider region?"
10:04 In 2017,
10:06 the political analyst was speaking from
10:08 his home office to BBC News
10:10 about the impeachment of then South Korean
10:12 President Park Jin-hye.
10:14 But his children didn't want him to do
10:16 it alone. Like a comedy sketch,
10:18 his daughter first strutted into the
10:20 scene. His baby son rambled
10:22 into the room shortly after.
10:24 "Pardon me."
10:26 "That's part of the job."
10:28 "My apologies."
10:30 Within moments,
10:32 Kelly's wife Kim Jong-uh
10:34 skittled inside to try to get the kids out
10:36 as fast as possible. But,
10:38 she couldn't move fast enough to prevent the
10:40 video from going viral. Fortunately,
10:42 the family was in good spirits about
10:44 the live TV mishap after it happened.
10:46 "It's been pretty unreal. We didn't
10:48 really expect any kind of attention like this at all.
10:50 We certainly never had
10:52 anything like this in our life before."
10:54 What's the funniest thing you've witnessed in the
10:56 background of live TV? Let us know in
10:58 the comments down below. "People
11:00 are like, 'What is happening?'
11:02 It is
11:04 incredible."
11:06 "Now all we have to do is die." "Die? I don't
11:08 wanna die." "What, you'd rather hang around here for a
11:10 few more minutes?" "No, we don't even know if we can die."
11:12 "Alright, but what if we can and then
11:14 the arch thing doesn't work?"
11:16 Welcome to WatchMojo! And today,
11:18 we're counting down our picks for the top 10
11:20 funniest things to ever happen in the background
11:22 of movie scenes. "Selecting
11:24 a bagel. Act super
11:26 normal." For this list, we'll be looking
11:28 at the best intentional jokes and gags
11:30 that have been left in the background of films
11:32 by filmmakers. We're excluding
11:34 Easter eggs and funny background mistakes
11:36 because there are enough of those for another
11:38 list. If you think we've missed a
11:40 good background gag, be sure to let us know in the
11:42 comments below.
11:44 Number 10.
11:46 The sneaky selfie.
11:48 Avengers Age of Ultron.
11:50 Taking this spot is everyone's
11:52 favorite billionaire playboy and
11:54 philanthropist, Tony Stark.
11:56 "We might need to visit Oslo. Find our
11:58 unknown." During the Avengers'
12:00 pursuit of the evil robot Ultron,
12:02 he heads up to the Nexus
12:04 internet hub in Oslo, Norway,
12:06 where we catch two young computer scientists
12:08 trying to sneak in a selfie with the billionaire
12:10 whilst his back is turned.
12:12 If you're paying attention to the foreground,
12:14 you likely didn't see this the first time around.
12:16 "I just pay for everything and
12:18 design everything and make everyone look
12:20 cooler." But it's not a surprising action
12:22 on the employees' parts, considering the level
12:24 of celebrity that the Avengers have
12:26 in the MCU. However,
12:28 you should always ask before snapping
12:30 a selfie with someone. It's just polite
12:32 and stops you from looking like a creep.
12:34 Even if that someone is Iron Man.
12:36 "Iron Man's the one he's waiting for."
12:38 "That's true." Number 9.
12:40 Eavesdropping and a not-so-subtle
12:42 getaway. Local
12:44 Hero.
12:46 In this Bill Forsyth
12:50 1983 comedy, we see
12:52 Peter Riegert play Mac, who is an
12:54 up-and-coming oil executive.
12:56 Mac is tasked with traveling to a small
12:58 Scottish village named Fairness to
13:00 buy the village people's land for his company.
13:02 Despite his initial reluctance,
13:04 the young exec discovers a new
13:06 lease on life through the village people's
13:08 simpler, small-town ways.
13:10 In a pivotal scene in the film, we see
13:12 Riegert alongside a young Peter Capaldi
13:14 as they discuss the sale of the
13:16 village with a local reverend.
13:18 Only to have the entire village's population
13:20 eavesdrop on the conversation.
13:22 "But news does
13:24 tend to travel fast around here."
13:26 Hilarity ensues when the town
13:28 tries to make an incognito getaway.
13:30 Though this doesn't go smoothly,
13:32 despite their best efforts.
13:34 "It's a crime."
13:36 "Yeah."
13:38 8. Pig Explosion
13:40 The Lego Movie.
13:42 "Your robots are no match for a master builder."
13:44 "Why, I see everything."
13:46 "My eyes!"
13:48 In Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's
13:50 The Lego Movie, the film's heroes
13:52 must stop the tyrannical Lord
13:54 Business and his lieutenant, Bad Cop,
13:56 from gluing their worlds according
13:58 to his plans. The directing
14:00 duo's work is filled with a high level
14:02 of attention to detail and visual
14:04 comedy as well as smart background
14:06 gags. And this film is
14:08 no exception. "Whoa, are we inside my
14:10 brain right now? That's big.
14:12 I must be smart." "Mhm."
14:14 "I'm not hearing a lot of activity
14:16 here." At one point, Emmett
14:18 finds himself, along with Wildstyle,
14:20 Vitruvius, and a cute Lego pig,
14:22 being chased by Bad Cop and
14:24 his forces. Unfortunately, when they
14:26 crash into a speeding train, the
14:28 pig falls to a grisly death
14:30 and turns into a pile of sausages
14:32 in the process. It's a dark joke, to be
14:34 sure, but one that happens very fast.
14:36 This is still a kid's movie,
14:38 after all. "You're a very
14:40 perceptive person, Superman."
14:42 Number 7. The Drunk Nun.
14:44 Dogma. "Let me get this
14:46 straight. You don't believe in
14:48 God because of Alice in Wonderland?"
14:50 In one of the darkest
14:52 entries on this list, we see
14:54 Matt Damon's character, Loki, speaking
14:56 to a nun while at the airport.
14:58 With Loki being a real-life angel,
15:00 they surely have much to discuss.
15:02 However, the scene takes an unexpected
15:04 turn when Loki convinces the nun
15:06 to abandon her faith in organized religion
15:08 and/or God.
15:10 It's not too long after that we see the nun
15:12 again, but this time, she's stumbling
15:14 drunk out of a bar. It seems that she's
15:16 taken Loki's advice and turned to
15:18 drinking to either seize life's
15:20 moments, deal with the existential crisis
15:22 she is going through, or both.
15:24 While we don't see a resolution
15:26 to this story, it's clear that this character
15:28 won't ever be the same again.
15:30 "Let it never be said that your anal
15:32 retentive attention to detail never
15:34 yielded positive results."
15:36 Number 6. Hans' Name.
15:38 Fast Five.
15:40 "Hans, you're
15:42 up."
15:44 "Sure.
15:46 Nothing like the easy stuff."
15:48 In the fifth installment of the Fast and Furious
15:50 franchise, we see an almost superhero
15:52 style team-up featuring many of the
15:54 previous movie's casts. The
15:56 fan-favorite character in this lineup is
15:58 arguably Han, played by Sung Kang.
16:00 Han first appears in Fast
16:02 and Furious Tokyo Drift, but two
16:04 movies later, we see diplomatic security
16:06 service agent Luke Hobbs trying
16:08 to get info on Dominic and Brian's
16:10 crew. Hans' full name is listed
16:12 on-screen as Han Solo,
16:14 which is clearly a nod to Harrison Ford's
16:16 Star Wars character.
16:18 "Han Solo. I'm Captain
16:20 Millennium Falcon." Though it's
16:22 implied that this isn't his real name, but
16:24 merely an alias, with Han Lue
16:26 being generally accepted,
16:28 this link between the Hans
16:30 likely hasn't been lost on fans
16:32 who've surely found it both confusing
16:34 and amusing. "We can't do
16:36 this." "Can't?
16:38 Means shouldn't."
16:40 Number 5. The Writings
16:42 on the Wall. Hot Fuzz.
16:44 "Well, however you
16:46 spin this, there's one thing you haven't
16:48 taken into account.
16:50 And that's what the team is gonna make of this."
16:52 [SFX]
16:54 English
16:56 filmmaker Edgar Wright's Three Flavors
16:58 Cornetto trilogy is filled
17:00 with hundreds of smart visual comedy
17:02 moments. One of the best of these
17:04 comes in the second installment of the series,
17:06 2007's Hot Fuzz.
17:08 When entering his new sleepy
17:10 countryside police station, newly promoted
17:12 Sergeant Nicholas Angel is introduced
17:14 to his new colleagues, including
17:16 Sergeant Tony Fisher. Behind him
17:18 we see a whiteboard where several not-so-flattering
17:20 words are shown. The way
17:22 he and the words are positioned makes them
17:24 look like they're actually describing the
17:26 policeman himself, the truth of which
17:28 we'll discover later on.
17:30 "Oh, Royce, what a choice to come down here
17:32 and tell me up to my job."
17:34 This is truly a well-hidden moment,
17:36 lasting just a few frames, but it
17:38 stands as a testament to just how
17:40 well-made and rewatchable Wright's
17:42 films are. "Very good.
17:44 What do you say?"
17:46 Number 4. Bagel Time.
17:48 Spider-Man Into
17:50 the Spider-Verse. "Step
17:52 six. I grab a bagel from the cafeteria
17:54 and run." In 2018's
17:56 groundbreaking Spider-Man Into
17:58 the Spider-Verse, Peter Parker and
18:00 Miles Morales find themselves attempting to
18:02 steal data from Doc Ock's office.
18:04 While trying to make their escape,
18:06 Miles throws a bagel at one of the
18:08 pursuers. "Selecting a bagel.
18:10 Act super normal."
18:12 As the bread product flies to the
18:14 air, it strikes a scientist trying
18:16 to pursue them. In a nod to early
18:18 comic books, we see the word
18:20 "bagel" appear above his head, creating
18:22 a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment of comedy
18:24 goal. This computer-animated flick
18:26 is filled with these little touches,
18:28 and is partly the reason it was such a
18:30 commercial and critical success.
18:32 "I love you. I'm so proud of you."
18:34 Number 3. The Tale
18:36 of the Ginger Witch.
18:38 The Harry Potter franchise.
18:40 "Look at this.
18:42 I can't believe it. She's
18:44 done it again." In the Harry Potter film
18:46 series, the filmmakers have left
18:48 many Easter eggs and small details
18:50 that give us more insight into the
18:52 rich and vibrant wizarding world.
18:54 Though this one will perhaps be new
18:56 to even the most die-hard Potterhead.
18:58 Throughout the movies, we frequently
19:00 see newspaper montages used
19:02 for exposition. Hidden within them
19:04 is the tale of the Ginger Witch.
19:06 "Show him.
19:08 We'll find out soon enough."
19:10 She's a hardened criminal with wig theft,
19:12 a henna explosion, and even
19:14 a stint in Azkaban prison on her
19:16 rap sheet. With her list of crimes
19:18 beginning to rival Lord Voldemort,
19:20 let's hope she's brought to justice one day.
19:22 "Justice."
19:24 Number 2.
19:26 Escupimos en su
19:28 Alimento. Anchorman.
19:30 The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
19:32 In this classic Will Ferrell comedy,
19:34 we see Ron Burgundy, aka
19:36 the titular Anchorman, feeling threatened
19:38 by an up-and-coming female anchor,
19:40 Veronica Corningstone.
19:42 "You read my news!"
19:44 "I told you that I wanted to be an anchor."
19:46 "I told you that."
19:48 "I thought you were kidding!"
19:50 This intelligent battle of the sexist
19:52 style comedy is filled with many
19:54 great background jokes. One of the best
19:56 ones comes moments before Veronica
19:58 and her friends are about to share a meal.
20:00 "Have you ever thought about fighting
20:02 fire with fire?"
20:04 In order to
20:06 transition to the scene, we're shown a
20:08 sign written in Spanish for the restaurant
20:10 in question, which reads,
20:12 "Escupimos en su Alimento."
20:14 This roughly translated to, "We spit
20:16 on your food" in English.
20:18 It's a great gag for anyone with some basic
20:20 Spanish, though most, like the characters
20:22 in the movie, will likely remain
20:24 oblivious to the joke.
20:26 "You know I don't speak Spanish. In English, please."

20:42 Number 1.
20:46 Roadside Interrogation - Men
20:48 in Black. "You come with me, Reg."
20:50 "And you handle this."
20:54 "What? Me?"
20:56 "Yeah, it's easy. You just catch."
20:58 This moment can be described as one of
21:00 complete comedic genius.
21:02 While Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K
21:04 questions a friendly alien, we see
21:06 Will Smith's Agent J simultaneously
21:08 helping and fighting off a tentacled
21:10 monster alien, who's about to give
21:12 birth... in the background.
21:14 It's K's total lack of care juxtaposed
21:16 with J's complete terror
21:18 that makes this scene so humorous.
21:20 "You're doing fine, Ace."
21:22 In fact, it's this straight
21:24 man/funny man routine,
21:26 teamed up with the natural chemistry between
21:28 the two actors, that has helped make
21:30 Men in Black such a successful comedy
21:32 overall. Plus, this particular
21:34 scene ends with a cute alien baby,
21:36 meaning everyone can go away happy.
21:38 Well, everyone except J,
21:40 perhaps. "Actually,
21:42 kinda."
