00:00 There will be a chill in the air this Halloween,
00:02 and not just because of the creepy season vibes.
00:05 It will be bone-chilling cold,
00:07 and a white Halloween for some.
00:08 Christina Schallhoop shows us
00:10 the trick-or-treating conditions across the country.
00:13 - Ladies and gentlemen, goblins and ghouls,
00:15 Halloween is less than a week away,
00:18 and if you need a little help,
00:19 not only with your plans, but perhaps with your costumes,
00:23 we've got you covered.
00:24 Let's talk about the overarching pattern here for Halloween.
00:27 You'll notice a lot of blue.
00:28 I did not intend to match the map today,
00:31 and yet here we are.
00:32 All that blue representing where it is going to be,
00:34 not just chilly, but in some places, downright cold.
00:38 If you live in Billings, if you live in Omaha,
00:40 if you live in Fargo, Minneapolis, guess what?
00:42 You're gonna want some layers
00:43 with your costumes, to say the least.
00:45 If you live in cities like Chicago,
00:47 you're on the edge of the bitter cold,
00:48 but it's not exactly going to be a warm holiday
00:51 for you on Tuesday.
00:52 Now, looking a little further to the east,
00:54 you'll notice we do have this band of green.
00:56 That represents where we have some showers
00:58 in the mix, not a total washout of a Halloween,
01:02 but we do have to keep some showers in mind
01:05 as we move through the day
01:06 and even the evening trick-or-treating.
01:08 More showers in the way of Texas
01:10 rather than in the Northeast,
01:11 but still something we'll watch for.
01:13 Let's talk numbers here.
01:14 Atlanta, Miami, Charlotte, and New Orleans,
01:16 not a bad Halloween holiday.
01:18 You can see the one sore thumb here in terms of the heat.
01:21 Miami, of course, we're talking about South Florida,
01:23 not a surprise to see 87 on the board.
01:25 The 60s, though, for the other three cities,
01:27 not a bad stretch at all for the Southeast.
01:30 Now, let's head into the Northeast here
01:31 along the 95 corridor from Boston to New York,
01:34 Philly to Washington, D.C.
01:35 You can see the cloud cover and temperatures in the 50s.
01:38 Again, wouldn't be a shock to squeak out a shower
01:40 throughout the day.
01:41 Perhaps you can throw an umbrella into your costume.
01:43 You could be, I don't know, a meteorologist, for example.
01:46 All right, let's take you into the South Central
01:48 where rain is a part of the forecast as well,
01:50 a shower in San Antonio and Dallas,
01:52 but sunshine for most of your day in Oklahoma,
01:55 Oklahoma City, anyway.
01:56 We do have the 40s and 50s on the board,
01:58 so layer up as you head to the evening for trick-or-treating.
