00:19 It seemed we were constantly pulling each other in opposite directions in life with

00:25 I wish Olivia the best in the future ahead, I care for her deeply and always will, Ethan

00:32 Olivia shared similar sentiments on her Instagram account as she looked back at their relationship,

00:36 writing, "Ethan and I have decided to go our separate ways.

00:40 I have ambivalent memories of us being 18 years old innocently dreaming of forever,

00:45 but the partner you choose is a reflection of the world you want to live in, and at 18

00:49 I didn't know who I was or what kind of a life I wanted to create for myself," she wrote,

00:54 "Ten years later, I have already begun my journey of questioning, deconstructing, and

00:58 rebuilding and I know that this is a process that I will continue to prioritize throughout

01:04 There were good moments and I want to remember and honor those.

01:07 We fell in love as children and are going our separate ways as adults.

01:18 Olivia and Ethan have had a rocky marriage over the years.

01:21 The two tied the knot in 2018 and announced they were separated in 2021.

01:26 That same year, they spoke with Access Hollywood about their relationship, and Ethan said he

01:29 feels like it has changed.

01:31 "From season one, Ethan was fresh out of his parents' house and discovering so many things.

01:38 I think our relationship wasn't equal in the fact that I was often the one that made the

01:44 decisions and decided what to do and called the shots.

01:47 I think this season, not only does Ethan have the space to grow into himself as a person,

01:52 but I think I came to terms of, 'I don't want to be this person in the relationship.'

01:59 We started working on making sure both people were seen, heard, valued, and had equal opinions,

02:07 I would say.

02:08 But our relationship has changed that way this past year of creating a safer place for

02:14 both people."

02:16 During an Instagram Q&A at the time, Olivia told a fan they were "working through a law

02:20 right now, but hopefully it will make us wiser and stronger in the end."

02:25 They since worked through their issues and appeared stronger than ever at the start of

02:29 the latest season of their hit TLC show.

02:31 However, as season five continued, fans saw them disagree on things like religion and

02:36 politics.

02:37 While chatting with her sister on the show's latest episode, Olivia opened up about their

02:42 different views and revealed if she regretted marrying Ethan.

02:46 "What if you meet somebody and you're a different person when you met them, but you've completely

02:51 changed and you're kind of going in opposite directions, but you're together with them?"

02:55 "Yeah, I don't know.

02:56 That works for some people."

02:57 "But does it, though?

02:59 Does it actually work or do they make it work?"

03:02 "I've changed a lot since I got married and I think that's okay.

03:06 I have doubts sometimes, but I also think that I'm capable of being in a relationship

03:11 with someone who believes differently than me.

03:14 I think that's something I ask Ethan all the time is if he's capable of it."

03:18 "When you and Ethan were getting married, did you ever think, 'Oh, I might have a regret

03:22 that I got married to him?'"

03:24 "It sounds terrible to say yes, but to be honest, it was mostly because of his family."

03:29 "If you have something on your mind that's like, 'I might regret this if I do this,'

03:33 then maybe you shouldn't do that."

03:34 "That's where I am with my life."

03:38 "Do you think you'd be healthier by yourself or with Ethan?"

03:41 "I have no idea."

03:42 "Yeah."
