00:00 >> First question, do you have a favorite Halloween costume?
00:03 >> My favorite Halloween costume was probably last year.
00:05 >> Okay.
00:06 >> The O-line and I, we dressed up as rappers and
00:09 we had like neck tattoos and like face tattoos and stuff.
00:12 And we all got fake girls off Amazon and like chain.
00:15 So it was a good group costume though.
00:17 It was me, Rob Conjual, and Kyle Ergenbrite.
00:20 So it was a really good costume that I had last year.
00:22 It's probably my favorite.
00:23 >> That sounds like dedication.
00:24 It sounds like a lot of work went into it.
00:25 >> Yeah, it was fun.
00:26 I know I was going to practice with face tattoos on cuz it wouldn't come off.
00:28 >> [LAUGH] >> How are you feeling physically?
00:33 >> I'm feeling good.
00:34 Yeah, I've just been rehabbing and getting everything tightened back up.
00:38 Yeah, I know everything feels normal.
00:40 Still going in the training room and doing all that stuff, but yeah.
00:43 >> When that injury happened against Texans,
00:46 it seemed pretty serious at the time, obviously.
00:47 >> Yeah. >> It was going through your mind when
00:49 that happened.
00:50 >> Yeah, I made kind of a scene cuz in the moment I thought it was over.
00:53 But thank God I was protected and
00:57 the trainers did a good job and the staff did a good job of making sure,
01:02 taking all the precautions just in case something was wrong.
01:04 So I think that's why the car and the air castle and stuff came out.
01:08 But I think we did a good job just in case something was wrong.
01:10 But thank the Lord that it was what it was, just a sprain, and I'm back now.
01:14 >> What do you think about how this offensive line is performing right now?
01:19 I see a lot of shuffling going on.
01:22 >> Yeah. >> We're all seasoned.
01:24 How do you think y'all can handle that?
01:26 >> I think we're doing a good job of handling the different combinations of
01:30 guys that we're having put in there.
01:32 I think we're playing a little bit like this.
01:35 I think we did a good job getting the run game going last week and
01:40 that's what we need to work on.
01:41 But I think no matter who's in there, I mean, we're all coached by the same guy and
01:45 we're all taught the same stuff.
01:46 It shouldn't really matter.
01:47 I mean, yeah, the chemistry is a big part, but we know the rotation.
01:52 We know the guys are gonna be in there no matter who it is.
01:55 So we just gotta keep the same mindset and not really worry about the rotation,
01:58 even though some people might think that it's a chemistry issue or whatever.
02:02 But no, at the end of the day, it's just about doing the stuff that we're all
02:06 coached to do, cuz we're all coached the same thing, so.
02:09 >> What do you think of a young guy like Jacob Sexton?
02:11 He got a lot of run on Saturday.
02:12 He's got some snaps the last couple of weeks.
02:14 >> Yeah, I think Jacob's doing a really good job.
02:16 I live with Jacob, so I'm able to help him at home and things like that.
02:20 But no, I think he's doing a good job of taking that opportunity that he's given.
02:24 He doesn't know when it's coming.
02:25 Like this weekend, it was a lot in the summits, every couple drives or
02:29 whatever, but I think he's doing a good job and
02:31 staying locked in when his opportunity comes, so.
02:34 >> You said you're really gonna help him at home.
02:35 What does that look like?
02:36 >> Just like when we watch film and stuff, we have a little TV in the kitchen or
02:41 whatever, and we'll watch film.
02:42 We'll watch Thursday Night Football or go over the tape and stuff like that, so.
02:46 >> Some of the biggest things that you guys need to do to carry over that momentum
02:50 to run game this Saturday.
02:52 >> Just knowing that we ran the ball as well as we did, and
02:55 just knowing that we have the ability to do that.
02:57 Just keeping the same mindset and just the confidence that we had.
03:01 Knowing that we had to run the ball because it was raining and
03:03 the weather was the way it was.
03:05 But just keeping the confidence and
03:06 knowing that we have the ability to run the ball as well as we did.
03:09 >> You've mentioned that rolling different guys in shouldn't affect the chemistry,
03:13 but communication will be an issue just with the atmosphere on Saturday.
03:17 Does that affect anything when you've got different guys trying to communicate back
03:20 and forth across the line?
03:21 >> Yeah, we just have to do our best to just use verbal communication when we can.
03:26 Whenever it's not as loud, not first, like our base down first, second down.
03:29 And then use our nonverbal communication on the third down, so
03:32 whenever the crowd really gets going, so.
03:34 [BLANK_AUDIO]
03:37 >> You have a caveman at left guard.
03:39 How's he been doing coming along as he's learned that position?
03:41 >> He's doing a really good job.
03:42 I think obviously the Texas game was throwing him into the fire and
03:45 that was great for him.
03:47 And just knowing that he can play against a competition like that was really good
03:50 for him and it gave confidence in us, knowing that he has the ability.
03:53 Obviously, he's a freak athlete and he's got the body to be a great player.
03:58 Just continuing to hone his technique and work on his hands,
04:01 just with the body and strength that he has, he's gonna become a really good player.
04:05 >> What have you seen from OSU's defense,
04:07 different defensive coordinator than kind of what you prepared for last year?
04:09 >> Yeah, they're running some different stuff.
04:12 I mean, it's similar to some teams that we've already played.
04:16 But just going back to our base rules and using the same techniques and
04:22 same rules that we use on other teams that run similar things to them is gonna
04:26 help us a lot, especially.
04:28 And they're running the new defense and they're new to that.
04:32 And this offense is fairly new to us, so I just-
04:36 >> Is there a defense that you've played
04:39 this year that it reminds you of?
04:41 >> Yeah, they run a three safety.
04:44 I mean, it's no question.
04:45 Everyone knows they run a three safety.
04:47 I would say it runs three safety, TC runs three safety.
04:49 So three down most of the time.
04:51 >> Yeah, so.
