00:02 The Fed's preferred inflation index
00:04 and a number of massive earnings drop this week.
00:07 Here's everything you need to know in just a few minutes.
00:10 My name's Gav Blacksburg, aka Wolf Financial.
00:13 I'm here with Evan from Stock Market News.
00:15 If you enjoy these type of videos,
00:16 before we get into it,
00:17 make sure that you are giving a like to the video,
00:19 subscribing to the channel.
00:20 There's gonna be a bunch more free informational content
00:23 coming your way to help you become a better investor.
00:26 All right, let's get right into it.
00:27 Do you wanna cover any of these earnings
00:28 or should we hop right over to the earnings?
00:32 - Let's talk about this graphic a little bit.
00:34 There are a lot of big earnings.
00:35 A lot of people have been talking about
00:36 that we're kind of over the hump,
00:38 but you look at this and there's a lot of names
00:40 that people do look at.
00:41 Maybe we don't have the largest four or five companies
00:44 in the world going, but we do have Nvidia,
00:47 Walmart, Alibaba, some really massive companies in there.
00:50 And then a lot of really popular names
00:52 on Fin Twitter and Instagram.
00:54 We have Coinbase that's gonna be very popular on there.
00:56 Square and a bunch of others, Lucid, Unity, Etsy,
01:01 a couple in there.
01:02 And then one that I didn't mention there also,
01:04 Home Depot, I'll be pretty focused on.
01:07 I do enjoy looking at those earnings.
01:09 And then Carvana, that is always one that's fun to watch.
01:13 Has been getting a lot of attention recently.
01:15 Any of these names stand out to you?
01:17 I know your favorite stock in the world,
01:18 Nikola's on here.
01:19 - Yeah, absolutely.
01:21 It's a big week.
01:22 Like you said, you hit on a lot of them.
01:23 Honestly, I think the thing about this week
01:25 that's interesting is it might not be the biggest names,
01:28 but it's the biggest movers, right?
01:30 Coinbase, Block, Moderna is on here.
01:33 Etsy's on here.
01:34 These are, Teladoc's on here.
01:35 These all regularly move 10, 20, 30% off of earnings.
01:39 So I think it is a pretty massive week.
01:40 Even the ones on the bottom are pretty big.
01:42 Realty Income, ticker symbol O,
01:44 that gets a lot of attention from the dividend crowd.
01:47 You've got Dutch Bros on here.
01:49 A lot of people looking at that
01:50 over the last couple of years.
01:52 Carvana in here, that's a huge mover.
01:54 Mercado Libre, Melly have got a position in that one.
01:57 So yeah, I mean, Wish, like there's a ton of-
02:00 - Thursday?
02:01 - That could move a lot.
02:01 - Thursday's an impressive day, Wolf.
02:02 Look at this.
02:03 If I told you you'd have Wish, Nikola, Wayfair,
02:06 Beyond Meat, Carvana all going in one day,
02:10 what would you say to that one?
02:11 Sounds like a fun day?
02:12 - It's gonna be a doozy.
02:13 It's gonna be a doozy.
02:14 I'm excited.
02:15 I'm hosting that day for earnings.
02:17 So we'll be looking forward to it.
02:19 Should we hop right over to the-
02:20 - Yes.
02:21 - Whisper website?
02:22 All right, perfect.
02:23 - So quickly, a quick cheat sheet on this website.
02:27 So you're gonna see it.
02:29 The number or the time right below the Walmart WMT,
02:33 that is the time you should expect numbers to be released.
02:35 Then EPS and revenue, that is what Wall Street is expecting.
02:39 So you can see it for all the major ones here.
02:42 Major ones here on the morning of Tuesday.
02:44 And Wolf will kind of scroll through each
02:46 and every single one of them.
02:47 Walmart and Home Depot, definitely the biggest ones
02:49 on Tuesday morning.
02:51 And Coinbase, Palo Alto, Diamondbacks,
02:53 a known one.
02:55 And I know some people actually got into Chesapeake as well,
02:57 but not too much to talk about on that one.
03:00 - Yeah, definitely a couple of good ones.
03:02 Wednesday morning, TJX, as well as Baidu.
03:04 Baidu's been getting a little bit of attention lately.
03:07 Wingstop, always funny to see the ones
03:08 that are actually publicly trading
03:10 that got these fun tickers, like Wingstop, Fiverr.
03:13 And then after market close, the big one for the week,
03:16 Nvidia, would you say that's the biggest of the week?
03:18 - Yeah, definitely.
03:19 Well, and Walmart's also pretty huge,
03:21 but we're tech guys, so we're down to the same.
03:24 - Yeah, Nvidia, $6 billion in revenue expected.
03:28 And even Lucid, we didn't even mention Lucid.
03:30 I didn't even see it on the calendar before there,
03:31 but yeah, Lucid in after hours with Etsy, Unity, Teladoc.
03:36 I mean, this is a lineup to be having.
03:39 And then eBay at the bottom.
03:40 Apparently nobody cares about eBay earnings.
03:42 - And then we'll power through the rest of these.
03:44 Thursday before the open, Thursday after the close,
03:46 and then Friday before the open.
03:48 Square is interesting.
03:50 Intuit's also pretty interesting as well for me.
03:52 And then there was Alibaba in the morning on that day,
03:55 and Moderna and Domino's.
03:57 So Thursday will also be pretty busy.
03:59 We were talking about earlier,
04:00 and then you can see Friday, it does cool down a little bit.
04:02 I think a couple of people watch EOG,
04:04 and then SYNMARK or SIGNMARK, or however I'm saying.
04:07 I'm gonna embarrass myself there, but an AMC competitor.
04:09 So that might get some traction.
04:11 - Perfect.
04:13 Okay, we made our way, I think,
04:15 pretty succinctly through the earnings calendar.
04:17 So should we take a look at the macro?
04:20 - Yeah.
04:20 So macro calendar is actually pretty busy,
04:22 despite nothing happening tomorrow.
04:24 It's President's Day, market is closed.
04:26 US stock market is closed.
04:27 So you're not gonna get any macro data points here.
04:30 There's actually a couple of really big stuff though.
04:32 We have FOMC minutes coming out on Wednesday.
04:35 We're gonna get to hear some insights
04:36 about what was being talked about at the last FOMC meeting.
04:39 We have the first revision coming in to GDP,
04:42 which we might talk about in a second.
04:43 We have some jobless claims data.
04:45 And then the biggest one, which was hinted
04:47 at the top of this video, is that PCE data.
04:51 Now, why is it important?
04:52 The Fed is very focused on bringing inflation down,
04:55 and CPIs wouldn't get talked about all the time,
04:57 but PCE is what the Fed looks at.
05:00 So this, in my mind, is the number one gauge
05:03 for what Fed's gonna do with inflation.
05:06 So I definitely like to focus at a lot.
05:09 If you scroll up just a tiny bit, Wolf, on there,
05:11 you can see that the number all the way on the right,
05:13 that is the previous number.
05:15 And then the number, which is where the dash should be,
05:18 that should be where the forecast.
05:19 I have it from a different place.
05:21 The year-over-year forecast is plus 4.3% for PCE.
05:26 If you wanna scroll it down a little bit,
05:27 it was 4.4% last month.
05:31 And then for month-over-month,
05:32 it's expected to heat up a little bit,
05:33 coming at plus 0.4% compared to plus 0.3%.
05:38 So that is definitely one to keep an eye on.
05:41 Oh, that was core numbers, actually, I apologize.
05:43 Core PCE is expected to come in at 4.3%,
05:46 and core PCE is expected to come in at 0.4% month-over-month.
05:50 So I'm glad I caught that before this video ended.
05:53 But I'll also definitely be keeping an eye
05:56 on those FMC minutes.
05:58 We had an interesting quote by one of the Fed speakers.
06:00 "We had heard that the decision to go 25 basis points
06:03 "was unanimous," and maybe it was after a couple of things,
06:06 but there were some people, I believe it was Bostic,
06:08 who actually is not a Fed voter,
06:10 came in and said he was for 50 basis points
06:12 at the last meeting.
06:13 So I wonder if we're gonna hear a little bit more dissent
06:15 in those FOMC minutes.
06:17 That is what I'll be watching.
06:18 I know I kind of hogged up there a little bit,
06:20 but are you watching anything, Will?
06:21 - You're good.
06:22 I was just gonna say the same thing,
06:23 that if everybody had this expectation of 25 BIPs,
06:25 because it had been unanimous,
06:27 and with the way that the stock market was going
06:29 and stuff along those lines,
06:30 and it sounds like now there's around a 13 to 20% chance
06:33 of a 50 BIP rate hike,
06:35 we could end up seeing 6% interest rates.
06:38 So I think this is the one to definitely pay attention to.
06:40 This could, the FOMC minutes coming out
06:42 don't typically move the market, but this week they could.
06:45 So I think we hit on all the points really, really well
06:47 there, anything else you wanna touch on in this video?
06:51 - No, I think that's pretty well.
06:52 We're definitely gonna be live on Twitter spaces

06:57 the earnings and all that great stuff.
