00:00 Alright so we're now in the BMW booth and behind me is the 2011 Alpina B7.
00:12 What's an Alpina B7?
00:13 Well Alpina is BMW's in-house factory tuner and what they've done is taken a 750i and
00:19 given it a lot more power and some very subtle interior and exterior modifications.
00:23 At the heart of these changes is the engine.
00:25 They've taken that twin turbo V8 and through new pistons, more boost and revised intercoolers,
00:32 they've managed to give this car over 100 more horsepower and over 100 pound feet more
00:36 torque.
00:37 The new output, 500 horsepower and 516 pound feet of torque which should accelerate this
00:42 big beast to 60 in only 4.5 seconds.
00:45 For those keeping score at home, that's almost half a second quicker than the regular 750.
00:50 Now on the outside there's a number of changes but they're all very minor.
00:53 There's a new front and rear fascia as well as a revised spoiler.
00:56 On the inside there's new options including myrtle beech wood trim and optional piano
01:01 black trim as well as a hand stitched steering wheel and illuminated door sills.
01:06 What I really like about this car though is the color and those fancy wheels.
01:09 Both of those are Alpina specific meaning you can only get them if you get the Alpina
01:13 package which costs about $122,000.
01:17 It's not cheap but I had a chance to drive the first generation Alpina that came to the
01:20 states and I love the car.
01:22 It's exactly what I'm looking for in a big sedan.
01:25 Fast but not too flashy.
01:26 So when we get a chance to drive this car, we'll tell you how it goes.
