00:00 We're here at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in the VW booth.
00:12 Now 2010 is a big year for VW as they plan to launch the most amount of product in their
00:17 company's history.
00:18 One of the most important products to come out of that is the car behind me, the new
00:21 concept coupe.
00:22 This is a bold statement by VW, it is a very cleanly styled front engine, front wheel drive
00:28 two door coupe that's also a hybrid.
00:30 VW promises very sporty performance out of this vehicle.
00:33 It will be powered by a 150 horsepower TSI four cylinder engine as well as a 27 horsepower
00:40 20 kilowatt electric motor.
00:42 Combined horsepower should be 177, combined torque 177 pound feet as well.
00:48 Now the performance numbers out here are spectacular.
00:50 VW claims this car will do 0-60 in 8.1 seconds and have a top speed of 141 miles per hour.
00:57 Those are both very impressive numbers for a vehicle that claims to also get 45 miles
01:01 per gallon.
01:02 As you can see it's a very boldly styled concept car and if it makes it to production this
01:06 way you can be sure that VW has a hit on its hands.
