00:00 In the context of the event "Artificial Intelligence, Risks and Opportunities", organized by DN Kronos at the Palazzo dell'Informazione di Roma,
00:16 a comparison was held between institutional, business and academic world references on the application and implications of AI in various sectors, finance, healthcare, industry and publishing.
00:29 During the debate, the implications of AI were addressed within the production processes.
00:37 AI has an immense role in the transformation processes that we see today in companies and in public administration,
00:46 because it basically allows to reach different goals.
00:50 On the one hand, a greater efficiency of those that are the internal processes,
00:54 so to make companies work much better inside than what happened in the past,
01:01 so to be able to be more productive, to be able to be more effective, and above all to shorten the times,
01:09 so to be able to give substantially to the various internal production processes a much higher speed.
01:15 As for what is done towards the market, then the go-to-market, the possibility of launching new products, new services,
01:23 the role of artificial intelligence is also becoming more and more important, more significant,
01:29 because even in this case the production processes are faster, they have fewer defects,
01:34 you can launch products on the market much faster and above all products and services that have a greater reach compared to those that are the needs of customers.
01:45 There is no lack of in-depth study on the application of AI also in the energy sector.
01:50 In ENI we have some interesting developments in which we are using artificial intelligence in its various declinations,
01:58 from machine learning to deep learning to stochastic correlations.
02:03 Some examples, in the safety of our people's work,
02:08 we have developed algorithms capable of recovering information in large databases,
02:15 with a huge amount of data available, to be able to prevent unsafe behavior,
02:21 so to be able to intervene with the training on our employees.
02:25 We are also using machine learning in the preventive maintenance of plants, in energy efficiency,
02:31 and we have an interesting view on the future, because we are using artificial intelligence,
02:37 our high-performance computing systems, and we are also looking at quantum computing
02:43 to make our ways of competing, working and using technology evolve in the best way for all of our people.
02:51 The meeting was also an opportunity to illustrate the innovations produced by artificial intelligence in the field of healthcare,
02:58 starting with the analysis of databases.
03:01 The potential of artificial intelligence in the development of healthcare is enormous,
03:06 there are many, starting with what is already happening today in the ability to integrate different information,
03:14 especially in the diagnostic phase, in the prevention phase,
03:18 information that helps the clinic, which obviously must always have the last word in the decision of what the therapeutic process can be,
03:28 but it certainly helps the clinic to identify diagnostic information more quickly.
03:36 For example, in Philips a software has been recently developed that allows to speed up, for example,
03:43 the magnetic resonance tests, by integrating information that the machine,
03:49 through a machine learning process, has been able to acquire,
03:54 to go and do faster diagnoses, helping the patient to stay less time in the machine
04:01 and therefore prevent movements that can create artifacts,
04:05 but above all supporting the clinic to go and identify more quickly the anatomical areas that require its attention.
