00:00 Tesla and Microsoft report earnings this week, and the Fed reports their favorite inflation
00:07 index.
00:09 Welcome to the show.
00:10 I'm Gav Blacksburg, also known as Wolf Financial.
00:12 I'm here with Evan from Stock Market News.
00:15 And today we're running through those topics and more.
00:18 Stick with us.
00:19 Make sure if you haven't already that you're subscribed to the channel, that you give a
00:22 like on the video.
00:24 Let's dive right into the economic report for this week.
00:27 Evan, what's sticking out to you?
00:30 Yeah, on this first page that we got up here, the US manufacturing PMI, I'll definitely
00:35 be watching.
00:36 And then those jobless claims on Thursday coming out, I do find pretty interesting as
00:41 well that that did shock the market a little bit this week, when it came in at 190,000,
00:46 which you can see on there.
00:47 But on this first page, I'll be definitely looking out for that manufacturing PMI and
00:51 initial jobless claims.
00:52 Are you going to be looking at anything different in here?
00:54 Yeah, I think it's really that initial jobless claims like you talked about.
00:58 And then also just keeping an eye on some of these other areas like Chicago Fed and
01:02 some other pieces throughout.
01:03 But nothing too crazy on Thursday there.
01:05 New home sales as well.
01:06 But I agree.
01:08 The real part that I'll be watching is on Friday and the Fed's preferred inflation index
01:13 PCE comes out Friday morning.
01:17 Core PCE is expected to come in at plus 0.3 percent.
01:21 Last month it was plus 0.2 percent.
01:23 And core PCE year over year is expected to come in at 4.4 percent, down from 4.7 percent
01:30 last month.
01:31 And I know that UMichigan inflation expectations does also drive some interest as well, along
01:37 with pending home sales as well.
01:39 So definitely a busy week.
01:41 But my biggest focus will be on that PCE inflation data, which comes out Friday morning at 8.30.
01:47 Plenty to keep an eye on.
01:48 Following up on last week's start to earnings, we talked about how this week we have some
01:51 major names reporting earnings.
01:53 You can see them here, obviously headlined by Tesla, Microsoft, Intel, American Airlines,
01:58 IBM, Boeing and more.
02:00 Let's walk through a few of these expectations, starting with Tuesday, which is really which
02:05 kicks off with J&J in the morning and then Microsoft in the evening.
02:08 What are our expected numbers?
02:11 Yeah.
02:12 So from Microsoft, Wall Street is expecting EPS of $2.29.
02:17 And we have revenue on there, actually.
02:19 So it's not showing revenue on here, but I figured that you could read it out or I could
02:22 pull it up on the other one.
02:25 Yes.
02:26 Boom, a little bit of editing magic.
02:32 And we have our revenue expectations as well.
02:34 So for J&J, we have the revenue expectations of $23.91 billion.
02:42 And then we had that revenue EPS right there of $2.22.
02:45 And then as you just heard beforehand with Microsoft, it was $2.29 on EPS and $53.48
02:52 billion.
02:53 Anything else from Tuesday that you want to look over, Evan?
02:56 If you could go back to the morning there quickly, I actually think there's a couple
02:59 very interesting names on the morning.
03:01 We have Verizon, which is reporting EPS is expected to be $1.21.
03:06 Revenue is expected to be $35.37 billion.
03:09 Lockheed Martin, which gets a lot of coverage.
03:11 EPS is expected to be $7.41.
03:14 Revenue is expected to be $8.28 billion.
03:16 I won't keep reading them off and you can see the other popular names on there as well.
03:20 The one place I want you guys to focus at as well, your new favorite, but right below
03:25 that GE, you could see a time and that is what time you should be expecting these numbers
03:29 to be released.
03:30 So for GE, it's 630.
03:31 For Lockheed, it's 730.
03:33 Verizon, 730.
03:34 J&J, 625.
03:35 AM Eastern, that's just what time you should be expecting these numbers to come out.
03:39 So also look at that as well.
03:41 But that is pretty good for me on Tuesday.
03:43 Yeah, pretty interesting stuff there.
03:45 Keep my eye out for GE and Lockheed Martin.
03:47 Let's roll into Wednesday.
03:49 Wednesday being headlined, of course, by Boeing, a foreign market, as well as AT&T, ASML, and
03:56 some others.
03:57 Anything specific standing out to you from Tuesday morning or should we roll right into
04:03 or Wednesday morning or should we roll right into Tesla?
04:06 Yeah, let's roll right into Tesla.
04:09 Boeing will definitely be watch numbers coming out at 730.
04:11 And same thing with AT&T, Freeport, MacMoran, and a couple others as well.
04:15 But Tesla will definitely take all the coverage on this day.
04:19 Numbers are expected to come out at 4 or 5 p.m. Eastern.
04:21 EPS is expected to be $1.17.
04:24 Revenue $26.16 billion.
04:28 Now Tesla is a little bit of a different one because we get their delivery numbers.
04:31 So you kind of know where they're going to end up.
04:34 It's just more forward guidance and some of the other stuff.
04:38 This will definitely be a very, very pivotal quarter for Tesla.
04:41 There's going to be a lot to watch on it.
04:43 And we're going to be covering live earnings as well as Microsoft on Tuesday and Thursday
04:47 as well.
04:48 So a lot of great stuff coming.
04:50 But we also have IBM, Research, ServiceNow, a couple other very popular names.
04:54 And wow, Wolf.
04:55 I'm seeing Wolf Speed on here.
04:57 Ticker Wolf.
04:58 Down here.
04:59 Their report is on Wednesday after the close as well.
05:01 So yeah, a jam-packed day.
05:04 Tesla will definitely be taking the most of it though.
05:06 Sounds good.
05:07 Coming in on Thursday morning, we've got some more airlines, American Airlines, Valero Airlines,
05:11 Energy's actually been on my research as well.
05:15 They've been performing pretty well and they've got some cool fundamentals looking out for
05:18 them.
05:19 And then MasterCard, I honestly have seen a lot of people's portfolios lately.
05:22 It's been getting pretty popular.
05:23 So those three and then a couple more airlines listed down here.
05:28 And then Intel, a popular fin to a position for some.
05:32 Coming in with 0.2% expected EPS and $16.27 billion of revenue.
05:40 And then Visa, I think is the only other name on here that people are really paying attention
05:43 to.
05:44 Anything standing out to you from Thursday?
05:45 I agree with those.
05:47 You covered it pretty well.
05:48 The mornings we got a lot of those airlines.
05:50 We did have, I want to say we had United last week.
05:54 So maybe we can use that as a, yeah, we talked about it in the last video.
05:56 Maybe we can use that as a decent read through for what we're going to see on American Airlines,
06:00 JetBlue, Southwest, et cetera.
06:02 But we'll be learning about that Thursday morning.
06:04 Moving over to Friday, there are a couple earnings there that people will definitely
06:09 be watching in that morning.
06:11 Chevron is quite a large name that a lot of people do focus on.
06:14 Exxon might get a little bit more of like the mainstream love and coverage.
06:17 Chevron is right up there as well for those, all the oil people out there.
06:22 But then and American Express are the two major earnings for that morning.
06:27 Sounds good.
06:28 Yeah, I think that that is what stood out to me as well.
06:31 So there you have it, your earnings for the week as well as your economic calendar.
06:36 I think that's it for today.
06:38 Anything else you want to cover, Evan?
06:40 Nope, just myself and Wolf.
