Transcript
00:00 night of missed opportunities. That's how TCU will remember its 29 to 26 loss
00:04 here tonight to the Texas Longhorns here at Amon G. Carter Stadium. Whether it was
00:08 Miller Bradford's interception turned fumble, Josh Hoover's interception at
00:12 the end of the first half, or even in general red zone inefficiencies, TCU left
00:18 valuable points off the board and that's ultimately what hurt them in tonight's
00:21 loss.
00:22 You asked about the turning point earlier. I mean, look, we're gonna go ahead and halftime down two scores if we don't throw that late interception.
00:28 You know what I'm saying? That was a big, to me it was a big play. I gave him a quick touchdown and all of a sudden, you know, it's a three-sport game.
00:37 And against a good football team, you can't make those kind of mistakes and those have been mistakes that we've made this year.
00:45 Now while TCU's offense did leave points off the board, it was the TCU defense that was a big role player in tonight's game against the Texas Longhorns.
00:53 Now despite giving up 29 points to Texas, the defense held them to only three points in the second half.
00:58 And that's holding Quinn Ewers, Xavier Worthy, and Jonathan Brooks and a plethora of others to minimal gains.
01:04 Overall defensively, you know, I thought we played well enough to win.
01:09 Yeah, you know, I told the team after the game, we wouldn't have a chance if it wasn't for our defense.
01:14 So those guys came out and they played hard. I think they got three points in the second half. Is that right?
01:19 So yeah, unbelievable performance from them. I feel confidence is always there with us and this team.
01:24 We just got to find a way to put it together. So going toe-to-toe with Texas, you know, they're a phenomenally good team.
01:30 And we showed that we can play on par with them. But I guess next week against them, we just got to show up and play the game.
01:39 Now we have to talk about one player in particular, and that is Savion Williams, who reached career highs in receptions and receiving yards.
01:45 He caught 11 balls for 164 yards here tonight from his quarterback, Josh Hoover, who had this to say about the star wide receiver and his performance tonight.
01:54 Savion's an unbelievable teammate, unbelievable player, great guy, great dad.
02:00 And I'm just thankful for that guy. What he means to me, he's unbelievable.
02:04 TCU now sits at four and six after tonight's loss to the Texas Longhorns, which means that they've got two games to grab two wins and become bowl eligible.
02:13 And that starts next weekend when the TCU Horned Frogs take on the Baylor Bears here at home.
02:18 Reporting here from Amon G. Carter Stadium, I'm Ian Nepetian, Killer Frogs Fan Nation.
