49ers put on a Defensive Beatdown in 34-3 Win Against the Jaguars
The San Francisco 49ers just beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 34-3 on the road.

00:03 had beaten the Jaguars by one point,
00:05 but instead they beat 'em by 31,
00:07 beat 'em 34 to three,
00:09 coming off a three-game losing streak.
00:11 The Jaguars were the hottest team in football,
00:13 doesn't matter.
00:14 The Niners exposed them, made 'em look awful.
00:16 Maybe they are awful, maybe not.
00:18 They look like a good team coming into this game.
00:19 The Niners, once again, look like Super Bowl contenders.
00:22 Forget the three-game losing streak.
00:24 And again, it's like, oh yeah,
00:25 that's the Niners we remember.
00:27 They're an older team.
00:28 They're a very expensive team.
00:30 A lot of stars making big money who, frankly,
00:33 pace themselves the first half of the season.

00:38 and all the high-priced players in the Niners stepped up.

00:42 Fred Warner, Travarius Ward, Trent Williams,

00:49 and I guess the Jaguars didn't.
00:50 So give the Niners credit for, like,
00:52 flipping the switch and turning things on.
00:54 Gotta start the credit with the defense, though.
00:56 Steve Wilks, we were running him out of town.
00:58 He went from the coach's booth to the sideline.

01:02 But he was great.
01:03 His defense gave up three points, forced four turnovers,
01:05 and it wasn't because he was on the sideline,
01:06 it was because of the adjustment he made schematically.
01:09 Finally, he played press man coverage,
01:11 took away that quick stuff,
01:12 and allowed Chase Young and the 49ers pass rush
01:15 to take over.
01:16 Chase Young wasn't the catalyst of the pass rush,
01:19 but now, finally, the Niners have four good pass rushers
01:22 on the field at all times,
01:23 and when they're playing some tighter coverage,
01:26 the pass rush, the defensive line,
01:27 was able to take over the game.
01:29 The Jaguars had no offensive line,
01:31 the Niners had a great pass rush.
01:32 That was checkmate.
01:33 Let's give Kyle Shanahan credit
01:35 for making an adjustment as well.
01:37 Just handing the ball to Christian McCaffrey
01:39 over and over and over again wasn't working anymore.
01:41 Instead, now, 10 targets.
01:44 It's a better use of Christian McCaffrey.
01:46 McCaffrey didn't score a touchdown,
01:47 but the offense, once again, was rolling
01:49 because they were using him in unpredictable ways.
