00:00 Hi there, Conor Gormley here.
00:01 I'm a trainee reporter for Sussex World,
00:04 and these are some of our top stories
00:05 from across East and West Sussex today.
00:08 Flooding continues in and around Bognor Regis.
00:11 Pictures sent into Sussex World have shown
00:14 fields along Shritton Road and the Bognor Regis bypass
00:17 show are several inches deep in water
00:19 as local communities, residents, and councillors
00:22 continue to push for a solution and proactive initiatives
00:27 on the part of government organisations
00:28 to prevent this from happening in the future.
00:31 A new development in Worthing in Leicester News
00:33 has been dubbed Britain's most beautiful new building
00:36 and a compliment to the historic seaside town.
00:38 The Bayside development, which is a stunning
00:40 15-storey apartment block which opened back in 2021,
00:43 and also includes a beachside cafe,
00:45 a six-storey garden square, and a 170-foot seaside tower
00:49 was recognised by the Royal Fine Art Commission Trust's
00:52 Building Beauty Awards on Friday night.
00:55 One judge said the building was a worthy replacement,
00:57 this is a quote, "A worthy replacement
00:59 "for the depressing 1960 swimming pool
01:01 "that previously occupied the site,
01:03 "and which, ironically, turned its back on the sea."
01:06 A takeaway in Hastings is offering all its dishes
01:09 for five pounds to mark its first-ever anniversary.
01:11 A tie-in town opened on November 25th last year,
01:14 and that's when the offer will be on,
01:16 and it's actually going to use all the money raised
01:18 to support two worthy local causes,
01:20 warming up the homeless and Dom's food mission.
01:23 Based in the town's arcade, the fledgling takeaway
01:25 has already proven hugely popular with residents
01:28 who just can't seem to get enough
01:29 of their signature Thai dishes, which cover all the bases.
01:33 It's really, really good from all I've heard.
01:35 But that's all from me today.
