00:00 Hello there, Connor Gormley here. I'm a trainee reporter for
00:02 Sussex World and this is our daily news bulletin where I talk
00:05 you through all of the biggest stories across both East and
00:08 West Sussex today. An executive chef at an award-winning pub in
00:12 East Sussex has announced his new venture, the Eastbourne
00:14 Herald has reported. Joshua Levy, who you might know is the
00:17 executive chef of the Eight Bells pub in Jevington, is
00:21 leaving to start a series of pop-up eateries across East
00:23 Sussex against hopefully, head off, sorry, hopefully starting
00:27 his own new permanent institution. He said he was
00:30 proud of his time at the award-winning pub, but it's
00:32 every chef's dream to run their own place and he's now in a
00:35 position to do just that. The full details of the pop-up
00:39 locations are still pending, but St Leonard's, Eastbourne and
00:42 Hastings are all in the pipeline for the very near future.
00:44 Harry Simmons, a major player in the British amusements industry
00:48 for 60 years, has stepped down after selling his iconic deluxe
00:52 amusement centre on Hastings seafront. He first bought the
00:55 venue when it was a derelict cinema and he was just 30 years
00:58 old and over decades of hard work, he's made it into one of
01:01 the biggest businesses in the area. So really well, well
01:04 deserved retirement there and hope he enjoys it very, very
01:07 much. Bosham, sorry, in West Sussex is the latest village to
01:12 benefit from Southern Water's overflow reduction pilot scheme,
01:15 which sets out, as you'd expect, to reduce reliance on storm
01:18 overflows all throughout the catchment area. Bosham
01:20 overlooks, sorry, Bosham overlooks Chichester Harbour and
01:24 in the wetter months it suffers from a lot of groundwater, which
01:26 often threatens to overload the system, both private pipes and
01:30 Southern Water's pipes. So the new project is really well
01:32 positioned to make a difference. That's all from me today. But if
01:36 you're interested in more news, photos, pictures and videos,
01:40 that sort of thing, do make sure to follow us on the social media
01:43 platform of your choice and visit sussexworld.co.uk. Thanks
01:47 very much.
