00:00 Hi, I'm digital reporter Amy Seddon. As we're halfway through November, you may have noticed
00:06 that Christmas ads are starting to appear on our television screens again. When people
00:10 think about Christmas TV ads, there's the big hitters like John Lewis, M&S and Coca-Cola,
00:15 but each year it seems that more and more companies are starting to get involved. I'm
00:21 going out on the streets of Lancashire today to find out if anyone has seen a Christmas
00:25 TV advert yet, and if so, what they thought of it. Let's see what they have to say.
00:30 Have you seen any Christmas adverts yet? Yes, I've seen two I think, one from Aldi and one
00:37 from Lidl. Can you remember what they're about? One involved a raccoon I think, and the other
00:43 one's like got the vegetables and everything like that in it as well. Did they stand out to you in
00:47 any way? Well, they were quite cute, so they did quite stand out and I shop at those places anyway,
00:53 so I'm quite interested. Do Christmas adverts make you feel festive? Yeah, when they start,
00:58 it's like 'oh, the season's starting, get used to it'. I always look forward to looking at the
01:03 new John Lewis advert and everything like that. Why do you like the John Lewis ones?
01:07 There's just something special there, like a big cultural thing. They've had some quite
01:12 famous ones over the year, like the man on the moon one, the boxer one which was quite funny,
01:18 I liked as well. So you think it's become part of the Christmas tradition? Yeah, to wait for
01:23 John Lewis or all the other adverts, just to see what they're up to.
01:26 Have you seen any Christmas adverts yet? Not as of yet, but I always look forward to the
01:32 Coca-Cola Christmas one coming up, that just marked Christmas for me. Why is that one your
01:37 favourite? It's just what I remember from a kid to be honest, it's like you're always sitting
01:40 all lit up with the Coca-Cola trucks and everything, so that was always the thing I
01:43 always remembered from being a kid. Does seeing a Christmas advert make you feel like Christmas is
01:47 on its way? Yes. So it's not Christmas yet for you? Not really, it doesn't feel like it just yet,
01:53 so I usually wait for the adverts and stuff to kick in to be honest, that's usually when it
01:57 fully starts for me. Do you think November's too early to get festive? No, no, no issue with
02:02 getting in, as long as it's not the beginning of November, mid towards the end is fine. So
02:06 you're looking forward to the adverts when they come? Yes. Have you seen any Christmas ads yet?
02:11 Yes, I have. Do you like seeing them? I don't have an opinion, I don't really look at ads,
02:16 so I walk past them all the time. So none really stand out to you? I guess there was a nice black
02:22 pudding one in Tesco, but that's about it. I mean the television ads where they try and do stories.
02:27 Television ads, I don't really watch TV and I have not really come across them so far,
02:33 as far as I know on online media. Do you have any from the past that you might remember?
02:37 Not at all, I don't know what I did yesterday. Do you not really get caught up in the Christmas ad
02:43 season? No, not really. I don't get caught up in any ads. But you still like Christmas? Yeah,
02:50 it's fun. Not one to go crazy? No, I'm actually pretty quiet, so to you the family and that's it.
