Brazilian motocross rider Fernando Zílio, 26-year-old, was killed during a motocross event on the Arroio do Sal track, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, on Sunday, 27 January 2019.
During the Copa Verão de Motocross at Arroio do Sal, Fernando Zílio lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. One of the oncoming riders managed to avoid his prostrate body and struck Zílio's bike. He died shortly later of a cardiac arrest at a local hospital.
Originally from Carlos Barbosa, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, at the time of his death Fernando Zílio lived in the village of Garibaldi, where his parents, Jair and Ivone Zílio ran a restaurant
