00:00 Hi, my name's Andy Spicer from Spicer's Auctioneers in Goul.
00:06 We're here showing you a preview of the Friday the 24th of November Arcadia auction that
00:12 we're holding.
00:13 It's from very rare machines here, most of which have come up from Watermouth Castle
00:19 down in Devon.
00:20 One of the rarest sets we've got are these Disney ones that were made about 1936 by Pytram
00:29 of London to go in Butlin's new resorts in Skegness and Cleethorpes.
00:37 This rare set of 1935-36 Disney Automatum were made by Pytram of London for Billy Butlin
00:47 in his new resorts of Clacton and Skegness.
00:51 They used to be in the entrance hall and Disney were trying to push the UK market because
00:58 he was very fresh over here and these were made on purpose for that.
01:05 So over here we have got a 1925 Chester Pollard football game, which is a very early wooden
01:12 example of this.
01:14 Behind it there is another one called the Twins.
01:17 All of these are working operating machines of that kind of era, from the 20s through
01:22 to the 60s.
01:24 Some of these items in here are one-offs like the Mickey displays, other ones we do occasionally
01:29 have them.
01:30 We had the football game here two years ago.
01:33 We were a bit of a specialist auctioneer for this kind of amusement here, but I've never
01:39 had the Twins before.
01:40 I've seen it.
01:42 These kind of ones which are the old ones, you do get them, but as an island like that
01:47 is very unusual.
01:50 Some of the fruit machines, they're more common, but we have some very rare early American
01:55 ones from the 1920s.
01:57 Models that you don't come across that often, certainly on this side of the water.
02:01 This one is a UK machine made by Wilton's of Blackpool and is called the Twins and basically
02:07 two people race to fill their bottle of milk up and see how quickly they can drink it.
02:13 The sale is on Friday the 24th of November.
