00:06 A virtuous collaboration, common ambitions and struggles, like the one against climate change,
00:12 are the key elements that gave rise to Parco Italia, a project of urban deforestation
00:17 that provides the home of the first 70,000 trees and shrubs by the end of 2024,
00:23 and also to plant a tree for each citizen of the 15 Italian metropolitan cities, 22 million trees by 2040.
00:32 The project was born in 2021 by the collaboration between Stefano Boeri Architetti and the Alberitalia Foundation
00:38 and started thanks to the investment of 2 million euros of the Right Now Climate Fund,
00:43 the 100 million dollar fund with which Amazon is committed in the world to support projects
00:48 based on conservation and the restoration of the natural environment.
00:52 Amazon is therefore the first financier of Parco Italia, a project that adopts a virtuous model
00:57 in which institutions and scientific communities join to counter climate change.
01:02 These projects based on nature are a very important component of our actions in favor of the environment,
01:10 so much so that we have then established a fund of 100 million dollars globally
01:15 called Right Now Climate Fund that supports these projects around the world.
01:20 This is one of the many levers, we have a decarbonization goal by 2040
01:26 that we will achieve through many initiatives, the electrification of the fleet,
01:31 the supply of renewable energy, the reduction of packaging.
01:35 Environment, conservation and preservation of natural resources are fundamental themes for CONFA Agriculture,
01:42 which explains how agriculture itself wants to be the protagonist of the concept of natural capital.
01:47 Preserving the internal areas, relaunching them, giving a future through the ability to restore the natural areas themselves,
01:55 preserving the great Italian biodiversity, that there is the possibility of relaunching the value of the internal areas
02:02 and on the other hand generating greater attention also towards the agricultural system.
02:06 This project values the idea of an Italy that in a complementary way to that of cities, highways and railways
02:13 connects the country through its natural capital.
02:16 Parc Italia has in its ambitions to increase the surface of protected areas by 9%,
02:24 also responding to a question from the European Commission of the National Strategy on Biodiversity.
02:32 It aims to multiply the paths that connect these protected areas,
02:37 because it means multiplying the advantages that biodiversity gives,
02:41 connecting the parks, connecting the protected areas and also valuing that incredible system of historical villages
02:48 that point to the Peninica Dorsal and the Pre-Alpine Fascia.
02:51 So it is the idea of an Italy that values its natural capital,
02:55 a kind of Italy that connects the country through its natural capital.
