00:00 Good morning from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:03 This is our update on the weather forecast for the next 24 hours.
00:08 We will continue to monitor the low-pressure area inside our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:15 Earlier this morning, at 3 AM, it was last seen
00:18 at the 465-kilometer-wide island of Surigao City in Surigao del Norte.
00:24 The low-pressure area is likely to be a storm in the next few days.
00:30 However, due to the combined effect of the LPA and the shear line,
00:35 or the heat and cold wind,
00:37 we will still experience heavy rainfall in a large part of our country.
00:41 We expect this heavy rainfall to have a chance of flooding
00:45 in the whole of Visayas, the southern portion of Cabiculan,
00:49 and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao.
00:53 Meanwhile, the north-east monsoon, or the cold wind,
00:56 continues to flow in the southern part of Luzon.
01:00 Despite the low rainfall, we expect this to be generally fair weather conditions.
01:03 We still have high hopes for the eastern section of the Luzon area.
01:07 And for the rest of Mindanao, we are mostly cloudy this morning.
01:11 We expect that it will be possible for heavy rains to fall
01:14 that will be followed by localized thunderstorms later this afternoon until the evening.
01:20 For the weather conditions in Luzon,
01:24 we still hope that due to the continuous effect of the shear line,
01:27 we will still experience heavy rainfall that will have a chance of flooding
01:31 in the areas of Masbate and Sorsogon.
01:34 That's why it's still possible for landslides to occur in the mentioned areas.
01:39 Meanwhile, due to the north-east monsoon, the cold wind,
01:43 the eastern sections, or the eastern sections of Luzon,
01:46 will experience heavy rainfall.
01:48 If there are heavy rains, these will be the light rains only,
01:50 particularly in the areas of Cagayan Valley, Apayaw, and the southern part of Bicol Region.
01:57 We expect that the weather will be cold in a large part of Luzon,
02:00 including Metro Manila.
02:02 So for the rest of Luzon, generally, we expect fair weather conditions.
02:06 And if we experience heavy rains, these will be the light rains, or just a drizzle.
02:11 For the parts of Visayas and Mindanao,
02:14 the whole Visayas and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao,
02:18 particularly in the regions of Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region,
02:22 will continue to experience heavy rains due to the combined effect of the low-pressure area and the shear line.
02:30 That's why we should continue to be alert to the signs of sudden floods and landslides,
02:35 especially if the rain will continue to occur.
02:38 It's also important to monitor the heavy rainfall warnings issued by our regional centers in our localities.
02:47 In the southern part of Mindanao, the weather is more clear than we expected.
02:51 We still expect heavy rains due to localized thunderstorms.
02:55 That usually happens from afternoon to night.
02:58 And in our Caragatan Region, we still have a gale warning
03:01 for the coastal areas of Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan,
03:08 in Cagayan, Baboyan Islands, Isabela, Aurora, Northern Coast of Quezon,
03:15 in the Polillo Islands, in some coastal areas of Camarines Norte,
03:20 in some coastal areas of Albay, in the Kalayan Islands.
03:24 There's also a gale warning for some coastal areas of Sorsogon,
03:27 Northern and Eastern Coast of Catanduanes, Northern and Eastern Coast of Northern Samar,
03:33 and the Eastern Coast of Eastern Samar.
03:36 So to our fellow fishermen and small fishing boats in the affected areas,
03:41 if possible, don't go too far because we will still experience a gale warning
03:46 until the very end of the Caragatan Region, which is now brought by the strong winds.
03:51 And for our 3-day extended weather outlook in the neighboring cities of our country,
03:56 tomorrow, Monday, a large part of the Luzon will experience good weather.
04:01 So in the areas of Northern and Central Luzon, in the cities of Metro Manila and Baguio City,
04:06 we expect good weather, generally fair weather conditions,
04:09 and chances of isolated light rains.
04:12 In the parts of Legazpi City and most of Bicol Region,
04:16 we will still experience a gale warning, but if we will experience rain,
04:20 these are just the gales brought by the strong winds.
04:23 And in a large part of Visayas, in the Northern and Eastern sections of Mindanao,
04:28 in the areas of Metro Cebu and Metro Davao, we expect that the rainy season will continue,
04:33 which is brought by the combined effect of shoreline and low-pressure area.
04:39 As for Tuesday to Wednesday, the rainy season will continue in a large part of Luzon,
04:45 generally fair weather in the northern and central Luzon.
04:48 We will still experience a gale warning in the parts of Cabiculan,
04:52 and the strong rains will continue,
04:55 brought by the shoreline and low-pressure area in a large part of Visayas.
04:59 In Mindanao, particularly in the northern and eastern sections or the regions of Mindanao,
05:04 in Metro Davao, we expect a gradual improvement in weather conditions,
05:09 so generally improving weather conditions in the mentioned areas.
05:12 We are still prepared for the chances of localized thunderstorms
05:16 when the afternoon arrives until the evening.
05:18 The main day here in Manila will be bright after 5.59 in the morning,
05:23 and will be dark later in the afternoon after 5.24.
05:27 For additional information about the rainy season,
