00:00 First, how are you feeling? Brent said you were sick going into this.
00:05 Yeah, I still do not feel the best. I don't know if I'm kind of hungry or if I just need to go to the bathroom again, but it's been a brutal few days.
00:12 Has it been like food poisoning?
00:14 Food poisoning.
00:15 When did that start?
00:16 Like literally Friday morning. It's been a brutal few days.
00:20 What did you eat?
00:21 I had some pasta. I don't want to say where because it's like a place I always go to. It's a nice establishment.
00:26 I just think it was uncooked or something. It got to me, man.
00:30 How are you feeling during the game? Obviously you played well.
00:33 I was on high V right up until kickoff. I haven't eaten in like two days. I'm kind of hungry.
00:38 But once it's game time, it's game time. I'm not going to let external factors affect the team.
00:43 There's much more of myself. I've got to do whatever it takes to get on that field.
00:47 Take us through the sack fumble.
00:50 Yeah, we had a blitz called. It was a backer, backer check. Kobe communicated.
00:55 Honestly, I wasn't going to go, but Kobe took control over there, got me in the right position.
00:59 Everyone executed and we got off the field.
01:02 And then Billy's pick six, but it was obviously a huge play as well.
01:06 What did those turnovers mean for you?
01:08 Turnovers are a really big key factor in winning games.
01:12 You've got to create those plays, especially with everything happening with Dylan.
01:16 The defense had to step up big. Billy played a tremendous game. That whole back seven, we had to do.
01:22 We stuck in there. Obviously credit to BYU. They played a tremendous game.
01:25 Great atmosphere throughout the whole entire fourth quarter.
01:28 But we did what it takes. We got through it with a W.
01:30 They got going on the ground early. What was giving you guys fits that you had to adjust to in the third and fourth quarter?
01:35 Yeah, just a little miscommunications. A misfit. Being one gap over too far.
01:39 Just have to clean that up next week.
01:41 Danny, on that stretch sack, how big was Ron Held covering up that guy, giving you guys a little bit of extra time to get to the ball?
01:48 Yeah, he was a flat dropper. He did a tremendous job getting to where he needed to be.
01:51 Obviously, the results happened.
01:53 Was there any point where you questioned whether or not you'd be able to go to the game?
01:58 Maybe a little bit. Maybe a sense of doubt.
02:00 But I feel like when you have those thoughts in your head, those aren't your thoughts.
02:04 That's something else. Trying to infiltrate everything you've worked so hard for.
02:08 When you get those thoughts, you have to keep pushing.
02:10 Coach, you said earlier there was no way I wasn't going to play.
02:12 I mean, there's so much hard work, I'm not going to let food get between us and a big 12 champion.
02:16 What was your view of Billy's pick six?
02:19 Man, I saw him run out. I wanted to chase down there, but I've been in that pick six situation before.
02:24 You don't want to get too tired because you're going right back out there.
02:27 I'll celebrate him once we're actually off and he'll get a little break.
02:30 What's the team's confidence level when you find out Dylan's out and Jax is going to be the guy in the fourth?
02:34 We had full faith in Jax. He's a tremendous quarterback. He did what he needed to do.
02:38 He led that offense. He had a huge throw in that third and seven to Jaleel.
02:42 That was him checking and knowing they're in zero pressure and making the right reads.
02:46 That's very talented, especially from a young quarterback.
02:49 We had full faith in him. We knew the defense would have to step up, and that's exactly what we did.
02:53 Brett talks a lot about doing your one-on-eleven.
02:55 Was there any sense of having to know you want to step up for Jax and also not trying to do too much?
03:00 You step up by making sure you do your one-on-eleven.
03:04 You're doing exactly what you need to in every single call.
03:08 You don't want to do too much, for sure, but every single person has to step up and do their job.
