00:00She was a stray cat living outside at Starbucks.
00:04Hi, baby.
00:06You're okay, mama.
00:12You're okay. You're okay, mama.
00:20Oh, my God, honey. I'm sorry.
00:23She was still very fearful.
00:26All right, mama. I'm sorry. I'm trying to help you.
00:32I was very scared that she wasn't going to make it.
00:36I'm trying to help you, okay, honey?
00:39Once she realized that I was trying to help her, her demeanor changed.
00:43She went to the emergency vet.
00:45Hi, precious mama. Hi, honey.
00:48Her red blood cell count was dangerously low.
00:51I know, baby. You're safe now, honey.
00:55We're going to get you all better, baby.
00:58When I took her home that night from the emergency vet, I was up all night with her.
01:09Come here, Zoe.
01:12Come here, honey.
01:14She was completely lethargic.
01:17Hi, sweetheart.
01:20Here. Can you eat some food for dad?
01:24It's so important for me to spend time with the animals that I rescue.
01:27The reason I got in the crate with her is because I just wanted her to feel safe.
01:31I wanted her to feel loved.
01:33I firmly believe that if they have somebody to comfort them,
01:36I think that gives them a stronger will to live.
01:38Look at you, mama, all sitting up.
01:41Hi, pretty girl.
01:44You like it?
01:46Three days after I got her from the emergency vet, she was doing much better.
01:54One of the milestones with Zoe was as I was walking up to her,
01:58I would always say, hi, Zoe.
02:00And she went, meow.
02:02Hi, mama.
02:04Zoe.
02:05Hi, Zoe.
02:07Zoe.
02:08Hi.
02:11I think the best way to describe Zoe right now is a daddy's girl.
02:16She does still love to be held like a baby, so she gets that daily.
02:24Zoe's not up for adoption.
02:27I'm going to keep her.
02:28Every bond that you form with the animals that come into the rescue is special.
02:32But her and I just had this instant connection, and I knew that I couldn't let her go.
02:47Come here, Zoe.
02:48Look at her all the way in the kitchen.
02:50It is a night and day difference from Zoe's first day.
02:53She truly loves and appreciates our quality time, and I couldn't be more proud of her transformation.
