Joe Buck's verdict from Newcastle United's 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Premier League. Anthony Gordon's second-half strike was enough to secure all three points at St James' Park.
Transcript
00:00 Newcastle United win, yes another game here at St James' Park, this time 1-0 against Manchester United. It was a weird game like, for a 1-0 scoreline, Newcastle were very dominant there, Manchester United were very very happy up there.
00:14 The chance of Nealy Port was barely tested before he came off an injury, I'll touch on that later, but it was the first half Newcastle absolutely dominated it. The Red Devils had maybe one chance from Garnacher which Port played well but other than that, the home hosts were really dominant.
00:30 It's a shame they couldn't get that goal because their first half play really deserved one. Miguel Almaron had a couple of chances, Kieran Trippier hit the bar with a free kick, Lassell had a header just go over, so they were very much on top but they couldn't find that goal.
00:42 Then you think, is it going to be another frustrating performance, is it going to be one where they look back on and regret that they didn't get that goal?
00:49 Fortunately that goal came about 10 minutes into the second half, Anthony Gordon sliding at the back post after a lovely cross by Trippier for his fourth goal in four Premier League games here at St James' Park.
01:00 He scored in the last four Premier Leagues, so that was a brilliant goal, Trippier was fantastic to live from it and that's what you'd come to expect.
01:06 Gordon was in the right place at the right time, as he has been for the majority of the season, to take the ball home.
01:12 To be fair, after that, I think Man Utd came in slightly. I think obviously Newcastle had that gruelling game against PSG and again Eddie Hogan made just the one sub late on, which was Matt Ritchie for Anthony Gordon.
01:24 You could tell they were getting tired but they defended well. Pope was injured, that's the one negative from the game.
01:35 Fabian Schär made a brilliant block on the line, Pope diving behind them, landed awkwardly on a shoulder arm.
01:42 We'll wait to see what Eddie Howe says about that but it looks like a shoulder or arm injury, which would be a real disappointment because Pope had another brilliant game.
01:48 Martin Drabavka came on and he looked solid, he caught the ball well. Maguire did have the ball in the net but he was offside.
01:54 Maybe Newcastle were a bit fortunate that one, if Maguire managed to avoid that ball it probably goes in anyway but they deserved that look.
02:00 They deserved the win and Newcastle are going to go.
02:04 They leave Prague Manchester United on the table and another brilliant performance from Toman.
02:07 They've now got five days between Everton and the Premier League on Thursday 9th at Goodison Park.
02:13 That will be a tough game and then they've got Spurs next weekend so two tough games coming up but they'll be very happy with that performance.
02:18 Newcastle United can hold their heads very high that they've had two very good performances in a week with a very stretched squad.
02:24 That squad will be stretched even further with Pope injured and a couple of games but for now Newcastle United can go rest and recuperate and be very happy with that afternoon's work.
