00:02 $25,000!
00:03 Welcome to Miss Mojo and today we're looking at times that contestants on The Price is
00:12 Right really lucked out.
00:13 You won a million bucks!
00:16 You won a million bucks!
00:19 You won a million bucks!
00:20 Number 10.
00:21 Oops!
00:22 In an unnerved moment, a gimmicked Plinko table was all it took for one lucky contestant
00:26 to win $30,000 on The Price is Right.
00:29 Everything had to be stopped when host Drew Carey was informed that the Plinko table they
00:33 were using was actually fixed for a commercial shoot.
00:37 And what had happened was right before the season came back, they shot a commercial for
00:41 the PS version of The Price is Right game, you know, the little tiny cartridges, and
00:47 they dropped it down the Plinko board and rigged it with fishing line so it would always
00:52 fall in the center.
00:53 It had been rigged to win every time but never got switched back to its original state.
00:59 As a result, this Price is Right contestant felt like the luckiest person in the world
01:03 until the truth came to light.
01:05 Thankfully, the folks behind the scenes had a change of heart or maybe they were just
01:09 afraid of a lawsuit and gave away the money anyway.
01:13 So we gave her the $30,000 off camera, gave her a fresh five chips, pretended like it
01:17 never happened and we just let her drop it again and she won like an extra $1,500 or
01:22 something.
01:23 Number 9.
01:24 Big Wheel Riches
01:25 Big Wheel has occasionally doled out some big bucks for lucky contestants on The Price
01:30 is Right.
01:31 One ridiculous example was that time when three contestants won multiple thousands of
01:35 dollars during a special episode where the dollar spot on the wheel was worth a cool
01:40 thousand.
01:41 Those contestants were crazy lucky, but they weren't the first to make some magic on
01:50 the wheel.
01:51 The episode dated November 14, 1984 featured a crazy rare occasion where there was actually
01:58 a three-way tie.
02:09 All three contestants who spun the wheel landed on a dollar, proving that sometimes lady luck
02:13 can indeed smile upon The Price is Right.
02:16 Number 8.
02:17 Snoop's Got Skills
02:19 Sometimes a little good luck just isn't enough on The Price is Right.
02:23 Sometimes you need to just know the game and show off your skills.
02:26 Snoop Dogg seemed to know exactly what he was doing when he appeared on The Price is
02:30 Right as a co-host who helped contestants play a few games for charity.
02:35 It turned out the rap icon was really good at pricing games, and his assistance enabled
02:40 many of the other contestants to win their games as well.
02:49 We highly recommend going back to watch this episode.
02:51 It's a feel-good bit of game show television that's bound to hit some nostalgic buttons
02:56 in your heart.
03:02 Number 7.
03:03 Missed It By That Much
03:04 Don't let the title of this entry fool you.
03:07 This contestant from The Price is Right actually nailed her bid on the program's showcase
03:12 showdown from March 25, 2020.
03:14 A woman named Brittany placed her bid at $23,450.
03:20 The actual retail price?
03:23 $23,456.
03:32 Talk about precision.
03:34 She won both showcase prize packages as a result of this amazing bid, and Drew Carey's
03:39 reaction just sort of says it all, really.
03:41 The host appears stunned, as if the card is wrong or something, but he soon realizes that
03:46 it's yet another lucky moment on The Price is Right.
03:50 Number 6.
03:51 No Strikes
03:52 This episode of The Price is Right, dated March 12, 1986, featured a contestant named
03:58 Heather Wilson.
04:03 Heather's appearance on the show was lucky right from the jump, as she got to win an
04:11 extra hundred bucks by placing a perfect bid on contestants' row.
04:19 The cash and prizes only increased from that point on for Heather as well, since she absolutely
04:23 smashed it playing The Price is Right's pricing game, Three Strikes.
04:27 Wilson won a new Corvette that was worth over $30,000 at the time, not adjusting for inflation.
04:34 She made it seem so easy, breezing through Three Strikes with ease to win a jackpot.
04:41 Number 5.
04:58 Perfect Poker
04:59 The beloved Price is Right host, Bob Barker, proved that he still had plenty of TPIR magic
05:05 in his pocket during this episode from 2002.
05:08 This was another episode where the contestant simply made it look so easy.
05:21 According to Barker, this was only the third time in The Price is Right history that a
05:26 contestant put together a perfect hand for this poker game.
05:34 That said, the contestant, whose name was Deborah, really knows her stuff when it comes
05:40 to prices, and locks onto everything that contains a nine, effectively creating an unstoppable
05:43 hand for her to win it all.
05:59 Number 4.
06:00 Lucky Taylor
06:01 Now this is how you celebrate a birthday.
06:07 Taylor Randall turned 19 on the day he appeared on The Price is Right back on November 3,
06:12 2008.
06:13 Randall chalked up nearly $80,000 in cash and prizes by the time he finished the showcase
06:19 showdown.
06:29 He couldn't be stopped beating the Lucky 7 pricing game for a new Mustang, winning
06:34 over $25K on the spinning wheel, and coming out on top for the showdown segment.
06:39 This kind of good luck certainly doesn't land every day, but we think that landing
06:43 on one's birthday is just about perfect.
06:50 Number 3.
06:51 Free Car
06:53 Call this next entry lucky with an asterisk.
06:55 That's because it isn't any wily skill or knowledge of the game that enables The
07:00 Price is Right contestant Andrea to win a car.
07:02 Instead, it's a little bit of overzealousness on the part of TPIR model Manuela.
07:17 The winning card is accidentally uncovered by Manuela, after Andrea initially makes an
07:22 incorrect guess.
07:24 This resulted in an automatic win and an instantly iconic moment, for better or worse,
07:29 for The Price is Right history.
07:31 Meanwhile, Manuela, for her part, appears horribly embarrassed.
07:35 But hey, it could have happened to anyone.
07:38 Number 2.
07:39 A Plinko Record
07:40 It's perhaps the easiest question for a Price is Right fan to answer.
07:44 What's the best pricing game?
07:45 Plinko.
07:46 It's always Plinko.
07:55 Winning on Plinko can be harder than it looks, however, which makes moments like this one
08:00 all the more impressive.
08:01 This particular episode from 2002 was celebrating the United States Army, and the contestant
08:07 Ryan Glass broke an all-time Plinko record with his winnings.
08:17 The cash value of the board was increased on this night, in order to honor the servicemen
08:22 and women.
08:23 So when Glass landed on the $20,000 spot not once, but twice, he entered the Plinko Hall
08:28 of Fame with honors.

09:04 Clock Game Winner
09:05 Time was of the essence for this episode of The Price is Right.
09:08 A special night where contestant Cynthia Azevedo was able to win a cool million dollars.
09:15 She did so via an unbelievable lucky guess for the TPIR clock game.
09:20 Azevedo had to deliver the actual precise bids on two different items within 10 seconds,
09:26 and she knocked the first one out of the park almost immediately.
09:32 From there, it was another lucky couple of seconds, and boom!
09:43 Not only did Azevedo win both prizes, but she became another one for The Price is Right
09:48 record books.
09:57 Be honest, do you watch The Price is Right every day?
09:59 Or only when you're home sick with a cold?
