00:00 The idea for Celebrations was actually a chapter idea from my very first book.
00:05 That first book, as I said, was all about teaching people to cook.
00:08 I wanted to include a chapter that helped people through these big occasions that they get stressed
00:13 out over, you know, things like Christmas or birthday parties and things like that.
00:16 And I never managed it, we just ran out of room and I ended up getting one page in the book where
00:21 I did a ten, ten sort of hit list of how best to deal with these big occasions.
00:29 And we kind of resurrected that idea and put it into that sort of Scottish context.
00:34 You know, you've got the celebration food, you know, things like the steak pies and the sort of
00:40 opulent meals that you get on that kind of night.
00:44 And then you've got the morning after food, you know, where you just want to survive.
00:48 You know, so things like homemade sausages and kippers and porridge and things like that.
00:53 And really quick and easy stuff like smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.
00:56 And throughout the book, there's loads of hints and tips on how you actually plan it.
01:00 Because the last thing you want to be doing in these big occasions is being stuck in the kitchen.
01:04 But again, just with thinking a little bit smart and getting organised, you can have some great food.
01:10 You can have some great food.
