00:06 So I think with Caleb Williams, it was...
00:13 Compared to expectations, it was disappointing.
00:14 He was the reigning Heisman winner, USC was coming in with all this talent, he was supposed
00:19 to compete for national championship.
00:21 Now, the main reason USC didn't compete for national championship was their defense.
00:25 128th, 133rd in the nation, they were ass.
00:29 Technical term, ass defense.
00:31 It was bad.
00:32 Yes, that's right.
00:34 That's not Caleb Williams' fault at all.
00:36 He scored the points, he put up the numbers.
00:38 Did have 10 fewer touchdowns than last year, threw as many interceptions in two less games.
00:44 I think it's one thing to be a true sophomore transfer who probably wasn't that...
00:52 People knew Caleb Williams was good, but he was not a Heisman, not in the Heisman contention
00:57 that started last year.
00:59 For MTEV the season he had, it was kind of going to be all up because the expectations
01:05 really weren't that enormous.
01:07 Whereas this year, they were talking about him being generational and he was very, very,
01:13 very, very good, but he didn't hit those expectations.
01:17 I still think as we get ready for what I call the true pre-draft process, which is the games
01:24 are the games, the season is the season.
01:25 Right now we'll start doing the senior bowl, the combine, pro days, interviews, meetings,
01:30 all of that.
01:31 It's a pre-draft process.
01:32 As we go into the process, he is still the best quarterback in this draft.
01:35 I do truly believe that.
01:36 I think he showed a lot of talent.
01:37 I think the flaws he showed last year or the flaws he showed this past season were also
01:43 apparent last year.
01:45 We just weren't focused on them because we were so wowed by what he was doing.
01:51 Once we became accustomed to him doing some of that Patrick Mahomes stuff, you dig a little
01:54 deeper.
01:55 Yeah.
01:56 He gets a little fluster in the pocket.
01:57 He doesn't always set his feet, things like that.
02:00 They're all coachable issues.
02:02 No prospect is perfect.
02:03 I say that all the time.
02:05 I would rather try to fix what Caleb Williams needs fixed than what any other quarterback
02:09 in this draft needs fixed.
02:10 Or some of them have things that simply can't be fixed.
02:12 Right.
02:13 My penchant, right.
02:14 We'll get to Jane.
02:18 But I, did he, if he hurt his stock to me, it's because he opened the door for Marvin
02:25 Harrison jr.
02:26 To go one, one, which I still don't think will happen.
02:28 I think even if the bears were going to take Marvin Harrison jr.
02:31 One, one, they would sell that pick and then use whatever they get back for that.
02:35 Plus three to move up to two and take Harrison.
02:37 I still think Caleb Williams ultimately goes one, one.
02:39 I just think this year the shine was off.
02:43 He was a known commodity and it was easier to dig a little bit deeper.
02:47 So still love him as a player.
02:50 Definitely.
02:51 There's things he needs to work on.
02:52 I felt that way before the season.
02:54 I still feel that way.
02:55 I just think those things were emphasized a little more in, in this year than they were
03:00 last year.
