00:00 President Biden's son Hunter has been indicted for a second time.
00:04 The 53-year-old's been charged with nine counts of tax charges, that's three felony counts and
00:10 six misdemeanors. It comes after a plea bargain that he entered in the summer ultimately fell
00:16 apart and led to two cases against him, one in Delaware and now this one in Los Angeles.
00:21 The first indictment has him in hot water over drugs and firearms possessions charges
00:26 and this new indictment reads the defendant engaged in a four-year scheme to not pay at
00:31 least 1.4 million dollars in self-assessed federal taxes he owed for years 2016 through 2019.
00:38 The indictment's then adding that he spent millions of dollars on an extravagant lifestyle
00:43 rather than paying his tax bills. Hunter's, Biden's attorney has responded to this indictment
00:49 saying quote "based on the facts and the law if Hunter's last name was anything other than Biden
00:55 the charges in Delaware and now California would not have been brought" but this is a serious
01:00 charge levied against Hunter Biden. If he is found guilty on all charges he could face up to 17 years
01:07 in jail in Los Angeles and the situation could further embarrass his father President Biden
01:13 as he heads into the election year of 2024. As for comments the White House referred press
01:18 to statements made by Hunter's legal team and also the Department of Justice.
