Transcript
00:00 What did you see on that play and maybe the turn in,
00:02 your guys up in that first half?
00:04 >> They're a very good patient team.
00:06 So just standing in my back pedal through the whole way and
00:09 just going up and finding where the best player is.
00:12 And I saw you try to throw it to, I believe, number three.
00:14 And I just went up and asked you how I practice every day.
00:17 So I just went up for the pick and I just took it to the crib, man.
00:20 And that was just the start of me trying to get my team going in that early first
00:23 half.
00:24 >> Between the semifinal game and then even after this one, I see you consoling
00:27 your teammates, lifting them up.
00:29 >> Yeah. >> What's it like for you to kind of take
00:30 on that motivator?
00:32 >> If I wanna be the leader, you gotta be able to take whatever comes with it.
00:35 Losses come with it, wins come with it, draws come with it.
00:38 We won a very close one last week and I had to put the team on my back,
00:42 tried to do it this week, but we fell short.
00:44 So I'm not really worried about it.
00:46 I came in this game on my face smiling, I'm a leader game on my face smiling, and
00:50 I never let no people know where I'm down.
00:51 So just going in and soaking it up and knowing that Washington went on that two
00:56 loss, they came and beat us last year.
00:58 So we won on our two L's and we will see them next year.
01:00 I ain't tripping about it though.
01:02 >> So what's next for you now?
01:03 >> Next year?
01:04 >> What's next for you now?
01:05 >> What's next for me?
01:06 Basketball season.
01:08 I'm still a Hooper, y'all know.
01:09 >> How do you feel about Jeff Libby leaving and you set the trail,
01:12 gonna have to look in there, the promotion, things like that with an office?
01:17 >> Everybody know college is a business, man.
01:18 You gotta feed his family.
01:20 Libby, I tried to get very close with him, I was the office coordinator at OU at
01:24 one time, now he's at Mississippi State.
01:25 But we're bringing in Ashley,
01:28 officer coordinator to actually throws the ball a lot more than what Libby did.
01:32 So just seeing that very excites me more.
01:34 I never questioned about decommitting or none of that.
01:37 I'm staying, I'm all in, so I'm staying with the guys and
01:39 just hope them guys bring home a ball and we'll see what happens next year.
01:44 But all I'm worried about is high school football,
01:46 as you can see, it's going by fast.
01:48 >> What was that process like with the offensive coordinator change?
01:51 Did they reach out to you or what kind of was that like?
01:54 >> I had a lot of people sending to me on social media,
01:58 really don't pay too much attention to it.
02:02 So I sent it to Coach Jones, he said we all good, we all in.
02:08 And he just told me to be patient.
02:10 Next thing you know, I saw the guys who got brought up and
02:13 I was very, very, very happy with who they brought up.
02:16 So whoever they brought up, whoever they didn't bring up,
02:20 I always gotta adjust to the atmosphere that I committed to.
02:23 >> I think last time I talked to you about recruiting was way back in the Midnight
02:27 Magic, and you've committed several other guys have committed.
02:29 What do you do with just the building up the recruiting platform today?
02:33 >> SEC get ready, cuz we built it up from the ground.
02:35 We're building a lot with Oklahoma guys, I got some Oklahoma guys here,
02:39 right here.
02:40 Planning to get some guys that I wanna owe you with me, so not too much.
02:45 So just trying to just stay as a kid, really.
02:49 >> Have you been able to build a relationship with Seth McColl yet?
02:52 >> No, not yet, I'm letting him get ready for a ball game.
02:54 I've been getting ready for my state championship playoffs.
02:59 So just staying locked into the main thing.
03:02 So now I will reach out and try to get in contact with him.
03:05 But it's only so many times they can talk to you instead of we're 25, so
03:09 I ain't even worrying about it.
