00:00 Hello and welcome back to EdinburghNews.com. I'm Neil Johnston, a reporter at the Edinburgh
00:04 Evening News and these are some of the top stories you can find on our website today.
00:09 An Edinburgh coffee shop has been forced to close with immediate effect after its last
00:13 day of trading was brought forward. A Pinch of Salt, which sells coffee and cakes from
00:18 converted old police boxes around Edinburgh, was forced to shut its Princess Street branch
00:23 for good weeks earlier than planned. The independent business announced earlier in December that
00:28 it was forced to cease trading due to locals and tourists opting to support nearby chains
00:33 and Christmas market kiosks. They also claimed that a promise from their landlord to bring
00:38 daily tour groups to the kiosk was never honoured. The police box cafe on Princess Street had
00:44 planned to serve customers until the 23rd of December but was forced to close earlier
00:49 this week. A new hotel, which is set to open at Heart
00:53 of Midlothian's Tyne Castle Park next year, will be the only one of its kind, bosses have
00:58 said. The Tyne Castle Park hotel will be located in the main stand at Gorgie Park, making it
01:04 the UK's first club-owned and operated hotel inside a football stadium. Set to open early
01:10 next year, the four-star hotel will provide one-of-a-kind matchday experiences and guest
01:15 stays. The 25-bedroom hotel has now opened for bookings and offers a choice of individually
01:21 styled guest rooms, including family, executive and accessible rooms.
01:26 And finally, a retired woman living near Edinburgh has sold a rare first edition hardback copy
01:31 of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for just over £55,000. She said she bought
01:37 the book for just £10 in a bargain bucket whilst on a family camping holiday in the
01:41 Scottish Highlands in 1997. After forgetting about the book, the valuable first edition
01:47 was kept in a cupboard under the stairs for years before it went under the hammer in Derby
01:51 yesterday where it was sold to a private online buyer.
