Transcript
00:00 Talk about that man.
00:00 I mean, is this something you want to do or what's going on?
00:02 Yeah, it's something I definitely want to do.
00:04 Be a utility for the team, just be the swift knife,
00:07 being whatever I can be for the team to help the team.
00:09 So practice today, do you work everywhere?
00:11 Pretty much, just whenever they need me to move around,
00:14 that's what I do.
00:15 Is there any difference between how Latrell's running
00:18 the offense and any scouting stuff that they've added
00:23 that you feel like is just gonna be a surprise for people?
00:26 Latrell's a great coach.
00:27 I feel like he's gonna stay explosive.
00:28 He's gonna continue to be more explosive in my opinion.
00:30 That's it.
00:31 What's that been like with him,
00:33 maybe taking a greater role in practices?
00:36 Just him bringing the energy every day
00:38 since everything happened, him bringing the energy,
00:41 bringing everybody's spirit up,
00:42 dealing with everything we've been through.
00:44 Just been a new change.
00:47 Change is not always bad, it's good too.
00:48 So just being able to him bring the energy,
00:51 give everybody excitement, just make sure it's known
00:55 that we always gonna keep the offense explosive.
00:57 That's it.
00:58 How is Jackson Dunn working into that number one role
01:00 now for bowl prep?
01:02 I haven't watched Jackson since he's been there.
01:04 I watched him grow up.
01:04 So him being stepping up, it's in his role.
01:08 I'm very excited to see him play this weekend.
01:10 I mean, in the bowl game, I'm truly,
01:12 I can't wait till he showcases his talent.
01:14 He's a great dude, great leader, and he can sling it.
01:17 Does anything change in the passing game with him at all?
01:19 No, no, not at all.
01:22 You talked about Latrell,
01:23 but how about Joe John also getting elevated?
01:25 For sure, Joe John's always been one of my guys, man.
01:28 Excited for him to get a promotion.
01:30 He deserves it.
01:31 He's one of the guys,
01:32 one of the coaches that bring it day in, day out.
01:34 One of the great coaches.
01:35 Last go around with Drake.
01:37 How excited are you to finish with him on a high note?
01:40 I feel like everybody knows how I feel about Drake.
01:43 He's like a big brother to me.
01:45 This is just exciting.
01:46 Well, it's like a bittersweet type of thing,
01:49 having my last game with him,
01:50 but he's a great dude to me, man.
01:52 And I feel like our relationship will never end.
01:54 So much turnover during this time of the year
01:56 with just the roster in general.
01:58 What's it like getting back out here
01:59 with the guys that are going,
02:00 gotta be down in San Antonio with you?
02:02 Just always being out there with your brothers, man.
02:04 Just excited to get out there,
02:07 have a chance of going to 11 and two.
02:08 Planning, it's a great team.
02:09 Just ready to be out there to showcase our talent.
02:12 Danny and Billy have kind of made their intention known
02:14 about what they're doing next year.
02:15 Do you have a decision to make?
02:17 I haven't decided.
02:20 Yeah, I feel like I'm gonna stay most likely.
02:22 Jalil, do you?
02:24 When teammates transfer,
02:25 Portals, big deal for college football.
02:28 Everyone knows that.
02:30 What I think people don't try to figure out
02:32 is whether teammates take it personally
02:33 when other guys leave or do they just get it?
02:35 That's just best for them.
02:36 I'm pretty much nowadays,
02:37 since NIL been a thing for a couple of years now,
02:41 it's going into year three.
02:42 So I feel like it's kind of immune.
02:44 Everybody's immune to it.
02:45 It's kind of turned into a business.
02:46 So to be honest, I feel like it's no love lost.
02:49 People that leave, stay.
02:51 I just feel like if you consider them your brother,
02:54 I feel like they should just communicate
02:55 at the end of the day, pretty much.
02:57 But it's all no love lost to anybody who left.
03:01 If you got used to the way things have gotten.
03:02 Yeah, pretty much I'm used to it.
03:04 I'm used to it so much.
03:05 I didn't see my whole coach's staff leave,
03:07 so it's nothing new to me.
03:08 With all that goes on,
03:10 does it even feel like the same season?
03:12 Even though you just played your last game?
03:15 To be honest, it doesn't.
03:16 It's a different vibe, different energy.
03:19 Like I said, I feel like it's the start
03:22 of a new season already.
03:23 So it doesn't feel like the same season at all.
03:25 How electric is it when you see that video
03:28 of Stutzman put out and just hearing
03:29 that those guys want to come back?
03:30 I know that was dope, man.
03:32 Just exciting to see that.
03:33 He's definitely a big factor, big leader on our team.
03:35 So just seeing him making the decision to stay
03:37 was exciting for all of us.
03:39 I think Billy, Danny, yourself, and Ethan,
03:41 you guys were the only guys left from that 21 class.
03:44 I don't know, would it be a kind of a point of emphasis
03:46 going into the SEC that you guys could be
03:48 the four, I think, kind of the leaders of this program?
03:51 Definitely, I feel like we'll be
03:53 four leaders coming back this year.
03:55 Just, we've been here, we've seen it all,
03:57 we witnessed it all, so just us being able
04:00 to preach brotherhood 24/7,
04:02 'cause that's what we consider ourselves, you feel me?
04:04 So we want to, from that class to people who stayed,
04:08 they've been loyal to OU.
04:10 We bleed OU no matter what.
04:11 So just us being able to basically be a leader for the team,
04:16 just a good thing.
