00:00 What brought you back to Ballarat?
00:11 Well, ultimately what my wife did.
00:15 But in reality, it's connection.
00:18 When you're travelling everywhere you can't find a place, you can't find your community.
00:25 So to come back and regroup with not just family but with friends and the community
00:32 and clubs and organisations, it feels a bit more like belonging.
00:38 We talked a little bit about Rotary Young Ambition.
00:42 Why is it important to you to be a part of that community?
00:46 That's funny because those kind of people, and one of them now work for me, they become
00:50 your closest friends and it's not people that you still have contact with every day,
00:56 but it's meaningful long-term connections that will last the rest of my life.
01:04 And I think they're the most important ones.
01:06 If you look to the future of Ballarat in 10 years, what are your hopes for our city?
01:11 I'm hoping, well I know there's a lot of young leaders that are taking big steps and big
01:17 risks here, so I'm hoping that with the new leadership generation that has taken form
01:23 here that a lot of younger people will stay here because they're being led by great young
01:30 people.
01:31 And, you know, they'll take over a lot of these businesses in the next 10 years and
01:35 they'll be the next generation of leaders.
01:36 Thank you.
