Oklahoma RB commit Xavier Robinson signs with the Sooners.

00:00 How's it going everybody? Randall Sweet, AllSooners.com, here to talk more about OU's 2024 recruiting class.
00:06 Now I'm gonna talk about Xavier Robinson.
00:09 He's another local prospect, a guy from Carl Albert High School, teammates with three other OU commits down there for the Titans.
00:16 Again, just fresh off his second straight state championship. Now Xavier Robinson, three-star recruit.
00:23 He's listed at 6'2", 220 pounds. Great size for a running back, especially coming out of high school.
00:29 He's only gonna build out his base, his top, become more solid, become a much, you know, really those big,
00:36 bruising SEC running backs that can break tackles that you need to get those hard yards against some of the bigger,
00:43 tougher defenders in the SEC. Like I said, Xavier Robinson is great at breaking tackles.
00:48 This season, whenever I got to see him, one guy almost never brought him down,
00:53 and if you did not try to wrap him up around the legs, he was not gonna go down. His stiff arm is
00:59 just so powerful that he's able to just shove guys off him. He's able to move guys out of the way, throw guys.
01:03 I think that his strength, his, you know, as strong as he is, as much
01:10 acceleration as he's able to get, I think that would lend itself really well to him even being used as a blocker,
01:15 maybe in some quarterback run schemes.
01:17 But again, his size, his strength, his physicality, the way he runs the ball, breaking tackles, really just kind of puts him in a good spot
01:26 getting on the campus because he's already ready to take some of those hits.
01:29 He can already withstand some of that, but some of these freshman running backs might not,
01:33 might need more work to be able to withstand some of these hits. But again, his size, his strength,
01:37 he'll be able to bounce right off of those. And again, enrolling early, he'll get to practice,
01:42 prepare for the bowl game with the team. That's gonna really help him, especially next year.
01:46 You know, while it's not very likely, he's gonna be a mainstay in the rotation, with as thin as he'll use running back from his bend,
01:52 there's nothing to say that he can't get a few touches and earn at least a few snaps out on the field as a true freshman.
