00:00 How's it going everybody?
00:01 Randall Sweet, AllSooners.com,
00:03 here to talk more about OU's 2024 signing class.
00:06 Now I'm gonna talk about Michael Boganowski.
00:09 Michael Boganowski's a four-star linebacker,
00:12 safety hybrid from Junction City, Kansas.
00:15 Now I think that, while again,
00:18 he did play a lot of linebacker
00:19 and he played a lot of safety in high school,
00:21 I think that's just because he was the best player
00:22 on his defense.
00:23 He kind of played right smack dab in the middle
00:26 and would just roam around and make plays
00:27 on the ball and pass defense.
00:29 As a run stopper, just really in general,
00:31 flying all over the field.
00:32 I think at OU, he's being recruited more to play safety.
00:36 And I think that obviously he's got the right size for that
00:40 heading into the SEC, sitting at about six foot two,
00:43 205 pounds, so already a good size safety.
00:46 Once he gets in the weight room with Jerry Schmidt,
00:49 that strength and conditioning staff, again,
00:50 as I've said with many of these other guys in this class,
00:53 that'll work wonders for him.
00:54 Putting on a lot of weight as the Sooners head into the SEC
00:58 to play against those bigger bodied receivers,
01:00 those more NFL prototype receivers.
01:01 Now, Boganowski chose the Sooners over in-state,
01:05 Kansas State Wildcats, over Florida State and over USC,
01:08 so there's definitely some other high level programs
01:11 in pursuit of the four star defender.
01:13 And he actually was able to take a visit to Norman
01:15 during the Brent Venables Elite Camp last summer.
01:18 Got to interact with some of the recruits there.
01:19 It seemed like, from what I saw, he had a good time then.
01:21 He got to meet some of the coaches.
01:23 It seemed like him and Brandon Hall really got along well.
01:26 And really, I mentioned, he plays all over the field.
01:29 He flies around.
01:31 Junction City kind of just played him
01:32 in the middle of their defense.
01:33 Well, he was not afraid to come downhill and hit people.
01:36 I think he's a lot like Reggie Powers
01:38 in the way that he is not hesitant to attack downhill.
01:41 And again, with that bigger body,
01:43 could play in the box as a secondary guy.
01:47 But I think that he also has the athleticism
01:50 to, again, play on the back end.
01:52 And his dad played defensive line in New Mexico State
01:55 whenever he was in college.
01:56 So again, got the football bloodline going.
01:59 Michael Bogunowski.
