00:00 How's it going everybody?
00:01 Randall Sweet, All Sooners.com, here to talk more about OU's 2024 recruiting class.
00:06 I'm going to talk about Jaden Hardy, four-star safety from Louisville, Texas.
00:10 Now Louisville is in the DFW area, so they play some of the toughest schedules in the
00:15 state of Texas, in all the country really.
00:18 So Jaden Hardy's played a gauntlet of talented Division I wide receivers, some of the top
00:22 guys in the country, and he's done very well, very, very well against those guys.
00:27 He's rated, like I said, a four-star recruit.
00:30 One of the top 15 safeties, one of the top 175 players in the country, so a good get
00:33 for Brandon Hall and company in that defensive backroom to add to the safety position.
00:38 Listed at about 6 feet tall, about 170 pounds, so getting on campus, getting in the weight
00:44 room with Jerry Schmidt will be really, really big for Jaden Hardy, but a guy who's a great
00:48 athlete.
00:49 He plays really, really well in coverage on the back end.
00:53 He's really explosive.
00:55 He's a track athlete, competes in long jump, does very well in long jump and 6A down in
01:00 Texas.
01:01 So again, he's got the explosiveness to be able to break on the ball once he reads something.
01:05 And again, he's kind of a good fit with Reggie Powers, another safety that OU's got committed
01:10 in this class, because Powers is more of the hybrid box safety guy who will come down and
01:16 hit guys in run defense.
01:17 And not to say that Hardy's afraid to hit guys, but he's better on the back end where
01:23 Powers is better in the box, and so they complement each other really well.
01:27 And I think that Jaden Hardy, again, once he gets on campus, once he gets in the weight
01:31 room with Jerry Schmidt, once he learns more from Brandon Hall about the mental aspect
01:34 of the game, combined with that explosiveness, that athleticism he has, I think that he's
01:38 got the chance to be a great safety for the Sooners.
