00:00 How's it going everybody?
00:01 Randall Sweet, AllSooners.com, here to talk more about OU's 2024 recruiting class.
00:06 I'm going to talk about another local guy, Andy Bass from Heritage Hall.
00:10 Now Andy Bass is rated as a three-star recruit.
00:13 I think he had around 20 offers and again, very versatile player.
00:17 He's about 5'10", 5'11", 200 pounds, so good size already.
00:21 He's very, very well built already.
00:23 He's a super fast player, good athlete.
00:27 Inherited Hall High School, continuing that pipeline.
00:30 Gavin Freeman, the most recent charger to come to Norman and now Andy Bass will follow
00:35 suit.
00:36 I think I mentioned he's very strong, very fast.
00:39 He ran a 10.5, 6, and 100 as a junior.
00:42 So again, tremendous speed for a guy who's 200 pounds.
00:46 If you watch him play, you can kind of see how built he is.
00:48 You can see how easily he breaks tackles on the ball and it is in his hand.
00:52 Now he played quarterback in high school and he had a great two years at quarterback at
00:58 Heritage Hall, but I think in college he's being recruited more to be a running back
01:02 and kind of really a versatile player where he could play running back, take some slot
01:08 receiver reps, even working as some wildcat quarterback, again with a quarterback background.
01:15 I think that he's so talented with that versatility, with that athleticism that those things would
01:20 have granted him maybe some time on the field as a freshman.
01:25 But unfortunately he did hurt his knee in the state championship game towards ACL and
01:31 so he'll probably be recovering during his freshman year at Norman.
01:34 I still think though that once he's able to get back from that recovery, that again, that
01:38 athleticism, that versatility, those two things combined will lend him to get some time on
01:42 the field.
01:44 And if you want to know just how productive he was this year, 3,100 yards, 35 touchdowns
01:49 through the air, 1,400, nearly 1,500 yards and 30 touchdowns on the ground, averaging
01:54 over 10 yards a carry, I mean just crazy numbers from Andy Bass.
