00:00 How's it going everybody? Randall Sweet, AllSooners.com, here to talk more about OU's 2024 recruiting class.
00:07 I'm going to talk about Wyatt Gilmore, talented four-star EdgeRusher out of Rogers, Minnesota.
00:13 Obviously, Minnesota is not an area that Brent Venable is in company that Oklahoma has recruited very often.
00:19 So, to get a commitment to go into the great north, beat out some of those Big Ten schools for a commitment from a talented four-star recruit
00:28 is a big win for Brent Venable's company.
00:31 I think that Wyatt Gilmore at 6'4", 240 pounds really fits physique-wise what Oklahoma is looking for at their defensive line,
00:40 those EdgeRusher positions. Obviously, I don't think he's ready day one to slide in and start in the SEC,
00:46 but with some years under Jerry Schmidt, some time in the weight room with that strength and conditioning staff,
00:52 I think that he is the perfect build, body style of what Brent Venable's company are looking for on the edge.
00:58 A physical guy who uses his strength, uses his hands really well to get by offensive linemen and run and pass sets.
01:04 He can get around the edge. He's got the athleticism enough to go around the edge quick enough.
01:09 And he plays both ways. So, obviously, a guy who's an athlete, who loves football, plays tight end on offense,
01:15 but will be a defensive lineman in college.
01:17 A guy that I think really attitude, personality-wise aligns with what Brent Venable's, with what Miguel Chavez,
01:23 with what those guys want from their players.
01:25 Guys who love football, guys who aren't afraid to get physical, guys who aren't afraid to do what it takes to help their team win.
01:30 I think that Wyatt Gilmore resembles all of that.
01:33 And 24/7 Sports compared him to Trey Hendrickson, a defensive lineman for the Cincinnati Bengals who's had a few nice seasons.
