00:00 All right, so so now that pen hit paper, you know, you're officially signed how does that feel?
00:05 It's a surreal feeling man. I mean, there's been a dream of mine to play ball at the next level
00:10 This college ball man, and I've been thinking about that. You know, I had an opportunity to man my freshman year
00:16 I really never thought I had this opportunity
00:18 But now that it's in front of me
00:21 I mean all I can do is prepare myself as much as I can, you know
00:25 It's a dominant and that's what I'm going to do going forward. So you talk about preparing yourself. What does that look like?
00:29 What does that take?
00:31 It's the little things preparation, you know
00:33 Only leads to success my dad tells you man. It's all in the preparation of what you do
00:38 That's how you succeed. And so for me, it means mentally man locking in before games, you know
00:44 Just to take a few minutes to just you know
00:47 Visualize my successes on the field which I do that every day before every game and I'm visualizing right now making plays in SEC
00:53 But the thing is man
00:55 It's takes little things like in the right foods discipline going to sleep every now and time, you know waking up
01:01 You know getting breakfast going back to work out again staying consistent
01:05 What you know that daily process that daily grind, you know, it gets born after a while
01:09 But you gotta fall in love, you know with the process if you really want to be great
01:13 Man it means a lot. I mean, I'm grateful. I have the you know opportunity to come back home
01:24 I mean most people, you know
01:26 Grow up wishing they had an offer from Oklahoma and I was fortunate to get that opportunity
01:30 And I'm forever grateful for you know
01:32 The coaches and the staff that believes in me and I want to take full advantage of this opportunity to be you know
01:37 Dominant and great athlete, you know to come out of Oklahoma and you know put on for the state
01:43 So you get to come into this next level with one of your teammates Jaden Jackson another former teammate
01:49 Michael Patterson McDonough longtime friend. What does that mean? Do you get to come into this class with two guys like that?
01:54 Man, it means a lot. That's my guy
01:57 Jaden Jackson, man. I love him to death
02:00 You know him coming back to play with me is something you know that we talked about daily, you know at school
02:05 You know late nights, you know, just say well, what if we could you know, keep this going?
02:09 We're dominant right now
02:11 And if we you know
02:13 Keep each other on the right path we can be dominant at the next level two together and that was all our goal
02:17 You know, we set the goal right now. I see freshman all-american and I saw over both of us right now. And so
02:23 Anything we can do to achieve it. We're going to do
02:26 So you talked about Jaden Jackson Nigel Smith was here tonight as well
02:30 Yes, obviously, you know you three going into the SEC some other defensive linemen in this class
02:35 What is that, you know, what is having some talented defensive lineman like yourself?
02:40 You know help how does that help? Oh you transition into the SEC man Nigel man. He's talented individual
02:47 His work that is you know next to mine is very close man. I mean I'm be seeing him
02:52 He's a dual sport athlete, you know, he loves come competing and we were talking about it, you know recently about him
02:59 You know just getting ready to you know, go to college tomorrow to start, you know practicing with the team and you know
03:04 Sadly, I can't be there. I will I would love to you know, just so you know
03:08 Push the guys harder and you know get everything that we can out of the guys and you know
03:12 I feel like coach should do a good job doing that. But you know, it's always good to hear from a friend
03:16 So, you know, what's your relationship like with guys like Brent Bennett Bulls Todd Bates some of the guys that you'll be dealing with
03:21 Man the whole staff I talked to them a lot man. I was here. I think I
03:28 Want to say like three days ago before the day period and it was just good vibes all around man
03:34 I love these guys like they're my you know, my staff from back at IMG
03:38 I mean, I've been they've been recruiting for like the last two years
03:42 And so for me, you know how that relationship walking into the program
03:46 It says it's not a steady foundation for you know
03:49 What's to come with a locker room and the environment I will be in once I get on campus next month
03:55 So for some fans who might not be as familiar, how would you describe your game? What are some of the strong points of your game?
04:00 My versatility man
04:03 I'm versatile as it comes I can move inside outside and you won't see a change in the game
04:08 What dominated from inside and sometimes because I want outside just a you know, third coat a curveball that you you know
04:15 I'm very aggressive when it comes to wrestling a pastor. I'm relentless. I'm coming after you. I want to sack every time
04:20 I'm gonna try what I can try. I'm gonna try everything I have in me to you know
04:24 Get that and that's the goal, you know, I said myself, you know
04:27 I want to sack to every game that somehow I can get it's very feasible for me to do man
04:32 And you know the TFL is me. I love I love you in a TFL gets me pumped up, you know
04:37 Just you know impose my will on offense, you know and disrupt their game plan. That's some I take pride in as a defender
04:44 It's definitely a good thing, you know, I feel like it really didn't impact my decision too much
04:59 But for me to come play in SEC, it does mean a lot because you know
05:04 There's always guys from the SEC going first round, you know, do you line production from the SEC is you know?
05:10 Top tier and so if I can dominate a high level
05:15 It's it's an easy first round top 10 pick opportunity for me. That's you know at the front door of my feet
05:20 it's all up to me, you know to take that step in the door and
05:23 You know push past
05:26 Expectations that's been sent for me
05:28 We were able to talk with any of the you know
05:31 The guys that are currently on the team during your recruitment or after you committed that kind of play the similar position
05:35 And if so, what advice do they give you? I?
05:37 Talk to them guys all the time. They always give me advice anything I can use. I always you know, try put their brain
05:43 Man, one thing for sure is just stay in the film room. You know, we're always gonna be watching film
05:50 They stay I think after practice every day just so you know
05:55 Rewatch it and then watch it again on their own as you know, they watch it together as a group individually break it down
06:00 And then you know, that's something I plan to take take hold of with this group
06:05 I'm bringing in you know, I'm it set a good foundation for this
06:09 Team 130, you know
06:11 I gotta lead the right way and I'm gonna take everything all the knowledge that's been passed to me from this
06:17 Last D line group and you know, keep it going with this next one. It's coming up
