00:00 Hey DDG, it's Men's Health. We're here to see your gym and fridge.
00:05 What's up Men's Health?
00:07 You're here to see my gym and fridge? Come on in.
00:13 Let's take a look in the fridge.
00:30 What staples do you keep in there?
00:32 First thing, water.
00:36 Main essential. I drink water over anything, over soda, over juice.
00:41 I'm filled with water. We gotta keep this in our body.
00:45 Very experienced in making eggs. We got the fruit, we got plums, that's my favorite fruit.
00:51 Pineapple, we have celsius for when I go to the gym. Turkey sausage, you name it.
00:58 What would we never see in the fridge?
01:00 Raw meat. You would never see any steaks raw. You would never see any chicken raw.
01:07 I don't have anything in my fridge that requires ingredients or any instructions or any Google Home advice.
01:15 None of that. I don't have any of that.
01:17 What foods remind you of home?
01:19 I've been living by myself for about 7 years now, 8 years now.
01:23 I don't get that home cooking no more, but growing up, it was always breakfast food. I always wake up and smell the bacon.
01:29 Breakfast, lunch, everything.
01:32 How has your diet changed over the years?
01:34 Over time, my diet has changed a lot. I do not drink soda. This is for guests.
01:39 I haven't ate candy in a very, very, very long time.
01:42 I noticed that when I started eating candy, I started getting a lot of cavities.
01:46 As you can see, my teeth are nice and healthy and they're 100% real.
01:51 What does a typical day of meals look like?
01:53 I'm eating breakfast. I'm going to go to my go-to, man, the eggs.
01:57 I don't know what type of eggs, grade A, extra large, or whatever. I just grab whatever they got and I cook it.
02:04 I'm very good at it. I put the little peppers in it and all of that.
02:08 I grabbed me some turkey sausage.
02:10 I like the pork sausage, but I try to eat turkey as much as possible because I know this is more healthy.
02:15 That's for breakfast. For lunch, I kind of combine lunch and dinner.
02:19 I might skip lunch sometimes. Lunch is really just a snack for me.
02:22 If I eat dinner, I might go to Dobu. I might go to a little steakhouse, you know, whatever.
02:27 Get some sushi going, get some steak going. I eat out a lot.
02:31 I probably spend a quarter of my money that I make doing all my hard work on food.
02:36 What food can you live without?
02:39 I can't live without fruit.
02:41 I love strawberries. I love pineapples. And my all-time favorite, very underrated, plums.
02:50 What's your favorite comfort food?
02:52 I would say, honestly, it would be acai bowls.
02:55 I got addicted to them maybe when I moved to L.A.
02:57 Five times a week, I might order one.
03:00 Sit in the bed, watch some Kardashians or whatever me and my girl want to do.
03:05 So, that's kind of like my comfort food.
03:07 What's your go-to burger order?
03:09 It would be a single burger. I don't like to really go double, triple, whoppers and no more.
03:13 I like to add cheese to it.
03:15 I like mayonnaise and ketchup mixed.
03:18 So, kind of like a thousand island.
03:20 Tomatoes, lettuce. I like to add the veggies. I like to keep it light.
03:25 What's your favorite protein?
03:27 My go-to protein would be chicken.
03:29 I eat chicken when I feel like I shouldn't be eating a burger.
03:32 I go for a chicken burger or a chicken sandwich or a club sandwich, whatever.
03:37 Do you drink coffee?
03:38 I'm actually addicted to Starbucks.
03:40 I like to get me a pumpkin cream cold brew when it's seasonal.
03:44 I like to not go too sugary when it comes to coffee.
03:47 I like a chai latte if I want to cheat a little bit.
03:49 What's the weirdest food combo you have tried?
03:51 So, I do a lot of weird food combinations.
03:54 Not too long ago, I ate frosted flakes with hot dogs in it.
03:59 It was not as bad as you think.
04:01 If you like one food, why not like it with another food?
04:04 What's the toughest diet you've tried?
04:06 The toughest diet that I ever tried is vegan.
04:09 I try to be vegan.
04:10 And it's cool, I can't do it.
04:12 I feel like every good food got milk in it.
04:14 Every good food got some type of cheese in it.
04:17 I could probably do vegetarian for a little bit, but vegan is just way too hard for me.
04:21 What's your snack strategy?
04:23 It's not in the fridge, it's actually in the pantry.
04:25 So, let me grab it.
04:26 Seaweed is actually really, really good.
04:32 I like to eat seaweed when I just want to snack on something and not go too crazy.
04:37 And it's actually a very, very healthy option.
04:39 When you are hungry at 2am, what are you reaching for?
04:42 I know it's supposed to be healthy, it's men's health and whatever, but hot Cheetos will never go out of style.
04:48 These are my favorite, 2am.
04:50 You can depend on hot Cheetos to get the job done.
04:52 Do you take any supplements?
04:53 I like to take fish oil, magnesium.
04:56 But I always fall off because I don't see a result as quick as I do.
05:01 But y'all can comment below and let me know what I should be taking.
05:04 Do you drink protein shakes?
05:06 When I work out, I use protein shakes as my reward.
05:10 It's called Gold Standard, whey protein, fresh vanilla.
05:14 Put this in there, put about two scoops, then I add a little scoop of peanut butter and put some ice in it.
05:19 And there you go.
05:21 Alright, let's see your gym.
05:23 It's actually about that time right now to hit the gym.
05:27 So I'm going to go ahead and take you out with me.
05:29 Let's go.
05:32 Wow, a lot of punching bags down here.
05:43 You know, I like to come down here and do a little light workout.
05:48 I might throw a little bit of king power punches in between, don't go too crazy.
05:54 It's really about getting endurance.
05:56 But if I want to switch it up a little bit, I might come around over here and get the upper cuts going.
06:03 How often do you work out?
06:10 Recently, I've been traveling a lot, so I haven't had time to get in the gym like I want to.
06:14 But when I work out, I get in the mode, I get like into it.
06:18 I can't go on with my day without working out.
06:21 So when I'm in that mode, it's every other day.
06:24 How do you stay fit on tour?
06:26 It's hard to find time for fitness, not going to lie.
06:28 What I usually like to do is step off the bus and maybe do a little few pushups on the bus.
06:35 A little light one person workouts when you don't really need machines or anything like that.
06:39 Or if we're staying at a hotel, I always hit the hotel gym.
06:42 What's your morning routine?
06:44 I wake up in the morning. First things first, brush my teeth, hop in the car, go to the gym, work out, come back home, put my protein shake together, drink my protein shake.
06:57 Boom, the day is ready to start.
06:59 How has your workout routine changed over time?
07:02 A lot of ways. That's like my main thing.
07:04 When I hit the gym, I like to do a lot of biceps, triceps, chest.
07:09 It's all arms, as you can see. I don't like to be humble, but as you can see.
07:16 What exercise do you hate?
07:18 Any leg workout. A lot of people get on me on Twitter or other social media accounts and they say, "You're supposed to do leg day."
07:25 What do I need to be squatting for? You can't see my legs.
07:28 What am I working out my legs for? You can see my arms though.
07:31 What's your favorite exercise?
07:33 Boxing is really my first love. If I wasn't doing music, if I wasn't making content for you guys, I would be a boxer.
07:40 That was like my main goal, my main dream. It got crushed when I injured my shoulder as a child.
07:47 How does working out help you as a performer?
07:49 You need a lot of breath control, especially at festivals.
07:52 I like to jump around. I like to jump in the crowd. I like to engage with people.
07:56 I'm not one of those artists that like to just walk around the stage and just rap.
08:00 In order for me to do that comfortably, I have to work out.
08:03 What keeps you motivated?
08:05 It's really just about me trying to stay cut. I like to have a little six-pack here and there.
08:11 I know I'm getting a lot older, so it's something that I really need to keep up with because I could lose myself.
08:16 It's really just about looking good at this point. It's not really anything else.
08:21 I don't want to be the strongest man in the world, but I do want to be the best looking.
08:24 I feel like I'm in the running as one of those.
08:28 How do you keep your mind fit?
08:30 I keep my mind fit by focusing on goals, success, health.
08:35 I want to live to touch over 100.
08:37 I always keep that in mind, and I always think to myself, "I got to eat healthy. I got to stay working out.
08:42 I got to stay fit. I got to stay up there mentally. Experience everything."
08:46 I want to see the flying cars.
08:47 What do you consider an intense workout?
08:49 If I want to get real intense, I call the trainer, pull up at the training gym,
08:54 and I let somebody else tell me what to do. It just pushes me a little bit harder than what I would push myself.
09:00 Has fitness always been important to you?
09:02 Exercising has always been important to me growing up.
09:05 I did sports in high school. I ran track. I ran the 800.
09:09 On top of that, I played baseball. I've always been a fan of basketball.
09:13 I have a whole basketball court in my backyard.
09:15 I'm not the best hooper in the world, but I am the hardest to beat.
09:19 What music do you listen to when you work out?
09:21 I like to listen to myself a lot. I know that might be cliche, but I listen to a lot of my own unreleased music
09:27 to see if it pumps me up in the gym.
09:29 If I don't, then I like to go on Apple Music, Spotify, just click a nice little gym playlist and let it ride out.
09:36 If I don't like the song, I skip it.
09:37 What's your most meaningful tattoo?
09:39 This is my very first tattoo, and it looks very fresh, actually.
09:42 I got this when I was 18, and it has my family's name on it.
09:47 My siblings, mom and dad. And it means a lot to me because those are the people I love the most.
09:54 Without them, I wouldn't be the man I am today.
09:57 So this is my most meaningful tattoo.
