00:00 What's going on Taylor and everybody at home, those of you watching, we're here to officially
00:06 report that Christmas is cancelled and that's it.
00:11 That's it, everybody can go home.
00:14 That's that.
00:15 Patriots win!
00:16 Yeah.
00:17 Okay, so disclaimer, I am at my girlfriend's family's house right now and I thought I was
00:25 locked away.
00:26 I'm in her grandmother's room right now.
00:31 Yeah, as evidenced by her grandmother.
00:35 She just, okay, I'm gonna super close the door, I'll be right back.
00:39 Okay.
00:40 This is the kind of thing that's gonna happen on Christmas.
00:49 I cannot lock the door.
00:50 I don't even think she noticed.
00:53 Yeah, this is the kind of thing that can happen on Christmas and it's understandable and everybody
00:58 at home understands it as well because everybody at home is mad and sad and it is what it is
01:04 and this is where we're at right now with, you know, the Patriots situation.
01:09 We might as well put it up here on the screen.
01:11 This is all people care about at this point and the Patriots have now fallen to fourth
01:17 from second.
01:20 That's bad.
01:21 Yeah, it's...
01:22 That's bad.
01:23 It's very irritating and more so that it happened in the way it did where you want so badly
01:31 to feel good for Zappi and for Chad Ryland because those are two guys who've obviously
01:35 dealt with so much adversity and have managed to overcome it.
01:39 Christian Barmore having a hat trick.
01:40 There were so many good things whereas like an actual Patriots fan, you're excited about
01:46 looking at the future and things like that but the reality is that I still am not convinced
01:51 that Zappi is the future of this team.
01:53 Now with the fourth overall pick, you can still trade up.
01:56 If you can't trade up, you're still in the range to take Jaden Daniels.
01:59 All is not lost but you still have to play the Jets so it's likely, you know, there's
02:05 a decent chance that they can win another game and that's when you can really throw
02:08 a wrench in your plans.
02:09 And the Jets could have done you a favor today.
02:10 Yeah, they could.
02:11 The Jets could have done you a favor.
02:12 Commanders could have pulled one out.
02:14 They couldn't.
02:15 Then the Panthers almost pulled one out.
02:16 They didn't.
02:17 They were that close to the number one overall pick.
02:19 Instead, they go down to fourth and, you know, again, a decent chance that they slide even
02:23 further which is not great.
02:25 It's not great.
02:26 No, and it sucks that we're doing this and it sucks that…
02:29 Why is O.C.
02:30 Bursette on my screen?
02:31 I don't need him.
02:33 It sucks that we're doing this because this isn't a postgame show.
02:36 This is just pissing and moaning over, you know, the Patriots draft slot losing and you
02:41 knew that this was a possibility late in the year with that Jets game and you never know
02:44 how that was going to go and they could have given it away there which would have been
02:48 doubly frustrating but now you're starting to throw other things into play, you know,
02:54 in addition to falling down to potentially, you know, like fifth, sixth, seventh is now
03:00 in play.
03:01 That's not great, you know?
03:03 No.
03:04 No.
03:05 So…
03:06 So many…
03:07 I'm still processing and trying to figure out how I feel about this one.
03:14 I will say the positive is that, again, I am not totally convinced that Zappi is the
03:19 guy still…
03:20 Well, I'll tell you this.
03:21 The Commanders will…
03:22 Real quick, real quick.
03:23 I don't have it in front of me but there's no way from a strength of schedule perspective
03:28 that the Patriots, if they hold it four wins, won't surpass the Commanders because the
03:34 Commanders will have a tougher schedule because they play the Niners and the Cowboys and the
03:38 Patriots play the Bills and the Jets.
03:41 So that strength of schedule is going to tick just forward there if you see, you know, by
03:47 my calculations, and I'll put it up again.
03:50 You see them right now with their win percentage 522 and 520.
03:54 There's no way that's not going to tick up a little bit with the two opponents that
03:58 they have remaining.
04:00 So I feel like there's still a shot here at that three.
04:03 And when you're talking about Chicago and Arizona and the idea that one, if not both
04:07 of them may consider holding onto their quarterback, you know, I doubt that's going to happen.
04:13 But there is a world in which you're still getting your guy at three if that's what
04:16 you wanted to do.
04:17 But things have gotten more complicated.
04:18 But anyway, Zappi, being the answer or not being the answer is where you are right now.
04:23 Yeah, I mean, you see the flashes where it's like, okay, he's got some of that purty
04:28 in him where he doesn't impress you athletically, like, you know, he doesn't have great running
04:32 ability, his arm isn't great, but he can push the ball downfield.
04:36 You see him making accurate passes, his pocket elusiveness.
04:39 I feel like it's gotten better by the week.
04:41 Totally.
04:42 This week, I really saw it like he's he's finding space.
04:45 There's guys around him.
04:46 And there was the one play.
04:47 And another thing I like about him is that you do see there's some progression from week
04:51 to week where there's like a throw that he tries one week and doesn't make and then tries
04:56 again the next week and actually gets it.
04:57 I thought that we saw it with the pop throw where last week it was a similar play where
05:01 he had pressure kind of like ran up in the pocket and let it loose.
05:05 Pop is wide open and he almost throws an interception that the guy just drops.
05:08 This time it was very similar where he had pressure, made a free rusher miss kind of
05:12 same thing where you run up into the pocket, kind of get that moving forward start and
05:16 he let it go and he put it out of the defender's reach and popped it a great job adjusting
05:20 and extending for it.
05:21 So there's definitely a part of me that's like, okay, I'd like to see what happens if
05:26 you give Bailey a good offensive line where you don't have three holding penalties in
05:30 a night and get sacked twice.
05:31 And, you know, if he had a better compliment of receivers, because obviously right now,
05:35 like he's to his credit, I wouldn't, I don't know about elevating, but you know, he's out
05:39 there with Devante Parker, Mike Kosicki, Burrow Brown, Jalen Rager was pretty much the X receiver
05:45 instead of Devante Parker, who was more of the Z because he was their top guy left.
05:50 You know, you see that he's able to compete in these games and against, you know, not
05:54 great teams, but good enough teams that were in the playoff hunt at least.
05:59 And you know, was able to actually move the ball and have some success.
06:02 So I don't, I still think it's too early.
06:04 And we also have to understand that this was like the third quarter where they exploded,
06:07 that there was nothing in the fourth quarter until the very end of the game.
06:11 And he did put the fourth quarter drive together.
06:13 So I don't want to take away from what's happy day today, because I think, again, you do
06:17 see that he's making some growth every week, but at the same time, there's still plenty
06:22 of, you know, moments where his accuracy is not great.
06:25 Like anytime he saw blitzers coming at him, his accuracy just went out the window.
06:29 So there's still very glaring holes and this consistency is not there for you to be like,
06:33 Hey, maybe we go into next year thinking this, he could be the guy.
06:36 I think right now, you know, that Zappi could be a good backup, like legitimately good backup,
06:43 but I still am not sold on him being a good starter.
06:46 That's the problem.
06:48 If he were, you know, somewhere between where he is now and where Brock Purdy is now.
06:55 And you thought, Oh, you know, you put enough around, you know, this guy, we could be okay.
07:02 You know, I don't know if people necessarily think that.
07:05 I do think the fun game that we can play is, and I'll ask you this outright.
07:11 I don't think you can, I mean, I think it's fairly clear how the Patriots felt about Zappi
07:16 because they caught him outright at the beginning of camp.
07:18 I didn't even think he was worthy of a backup spot.
07:21 You know, weird shift, carousel, whatever they did all season long at that backup QB
07:26 position, which has been perplexing, but he's, he looks so clearly better than his predecessor,
07:35 just in terms of comfort, ability to step up in the pocket and make throws, doesn't
07:39 see ghosts as much.
07:40 But you did mention he was getting a little spooked under pressure and rushing some throws.
07:44 Sure.
07:45 But he's not, you know, he's not doing what Mack was doing and what ultimately cost Mack
07:49 his job.
07:50 That being said, the game everyone's going to play here is if they realize three, four
07:55 games in, if Mack was on a shorter leash and they pulled the plug on him two, three, four
07:59 games into the season, what would the Patriots record be now?
08:01 And then how would you feel about the team?
08:03 What let's say you pulled, you know, right now you're so close to that top two or top
08:09 three pick anything that anything positive is just like, oh, come on.
08:14 But if they, if they made the switch earlier, is this a six win team, a seven win team?
08:18 Not to say that, that I think that's the worst place you could be in the NFL because you're
08:23 stuck in the middle.
08:25 But I'm, it might change the conversation around, you know, you know, what you're going
08:30 to do and what you need and how you need to improve going forward.
08:33 I think definitely you can kind of assume that they would have won more games.
08:37 Like you just think about the Colts game.
08:39 Like Bailey probably makes the throw where all you have to do is just, you know, throw
08:43 it anywhere in Mike Kosicki's vicinity and he's going to come down with a touchdown and
08:47 you go into the bye week with a win most likely instead, obviously, you know, Mac, just all
08:52 the beatings he's taken over the past two years, caught up to him.
08:56 And that was the game where you see, okay, you may have to do something because his confidence
09:01 is completely gone.
09:02 So I do think they would have had a few more wins, especially since we always talk about
09:05 how, you know, the defense gives them the chance late and they don't do anything with
09:09 it.
09:10 And the thing is, I think, I don't think having put him in like week four would have been
09:17 the cure-all because I also think that more time in the system and learning has been big
09:21 for him because we saw in the summer, like there was a huge disparity and he did not
09:25 really function well in Bill O'Brien's offense.
09:29 And I, I find it hard to just assume that he would have done well early on in the season,
09:34 but I think the time that he got to sit on the bench and learn and, you know, go through
09:38 the week and adjust to the system really did help him.
09:41 And I also think that, yeah, you know, maybe you do it like around week, I don't want to
09:48 guess that that's kind of a pointless game, but I do think if you kind of maybe waited
09:52 to like mid, mid season, mid to late mid season and put them in, they probably have like two
09:56 or three more wins.
10:06 And now all of a sudden, did you mute me?
10:09 I unmuted you.
10:12 It changes the conversation a little if you do fall into who knows where land, and that
10:18 could be in the six or seven spot where you don't think a quarterback is worthy anymore.
10:22 And you draft one in the second round.
10:23 Now you've completely changed what it is you're doing and how you're doing it.
10:27 And you've taken someone that's more of an unknown or a flyer who might not come in and
10:30 be a day one starter.
10:31 If you draft Williams or May, of course, you know, you're likely handing the keys over
10:37 to them and just say sink or swim kid.
10:40 But it does change.
10:41 I'm not saying for the better, it just changes what might happen.
10:45 And I'm going to warn you right now, I have to pop into the next room for a split second
10:49 while you answer this question or address it because I have to grab my charger before
10:53 I power down and you're on your own for good.
10:56 So have at it.
10:58 Was this a question that I got?
11:00 Okay.
11:01 Why don't you just talk about whatever you want to talk about?
11:04 You do.
11:05 I was like, all right, so let's talk about Christian Barmore.
11:07 All right.
11:08 Is he an all pro?
11:09 I'd like to know.
11:10 I'm not leaving here.
11:11 I'm not going to let that happen.
11:12 I'm just kidding.
11:13 You can do whatever you want.
11:14 You can do whatever you want.
11:15 Okay.
11:16 I'm so confused.
11:17 I'm just going to keep talking.
11:18 I'm Christian.
11:19 Well, you can't talk about Barber when I go in the next room and I got a, I got a zappy
11:23 graphic on the screen.
11:24 Okay, man.
11:25 All right.
11:26 I'm sorry.
11:27 I. All right.
11:28 What else about zappy?
11:29 All right.
11:30 Tell us why you love Bailey's zappy.
11:33 Yeah.
11:34 All right.
11:35 I'll find something else to talk about.
11:36 Bailey's happy related instead.
11:37 Um, that's all right.
11:38 Here's the thing about like I've changed the graphic.
11:40 Do your bar.
11:41 Go, go, go.
11:42 Okay.
11:43 Okay.
11:44 All right.
11:45 Now I have freedom.
11:46 Yeah.
11:47 Barmore.
11:48 He is a monster.
11:49 Yeah.
11:50 I mean, I think we have to talk about him.
11:51 We can talk about zappy.
11:52 You know, I think we pretty much covered it right.
11:55 Bailey's happy.
11:56 He is a good backup from what we've seen because he's got you a few wins, but he's also been
12:00 inconsistent.
12:01 He's also been the guy who can't put a full half of foot or more than the first half of
12:06 football together this week.
12:08 He struggled early on and then had a great third quarter.
12:10 I thought even towards the end of the second half, he was all right.
12:12 But again, I think we know what's happy is he had a great game today.
12:17 Still need to see more from him before I think we make any big declarations, but far more
12:21 man, I really do.
12:24 So I was saying this, if you follow me on Twitter, you saw this week, I was saying he's
12:27 a legitimate defensive player of the year.
12:29 I'm sorry, all pro candidate.
12:32 I got excited there.
12:33 He's legitimate, all pro candidate.
12:35 And the reason I say that is because since week six, he's like top five or top 10 in
12:40 a lot of major statistical categories for interior defensive linemen.
12:44 And that's just the numbers.
12:45 When you go beyond the numbers and you look at, okay, yeah, he's got the sacks, the pressures,
12:49 even when he's not actually affecting the play, you see that he's taken on double teams.
12:53 He's not moving at the point of attack.
12:55 He's making things easier for other people.
12:57 He's getting pressures.
12:58 He's beating people so quickly that sometimes the quarterback's getting it out, but you
13:02 see an offensive lineman on the ground.
13:05 That down to down consistency is something that I think is what you look for, for somebody
13:09 like an all pro type player.
13:11 Not only that, you saw today how he can completely take over the game.
13:15 And it wasn't the first time we've seen it either.
13:16 We've seen, you know, not to the tune of a hat trick in terms of sacks, hasn't been that
13:21 dramatic, but we've seen plenty of times where, you know, games on the line and Barmore is
13:25 the one who's in the middle of everything and making things happen.
13:28 So man, he's just continues to impress me.
13:31 I don't know what they're waiting for with the extension, like sign him now.
13:34 He's only going to get more expensive.
13:37 You talk about guys who are playing their butts off late in the season, which I think
13:40 is a lot of people.
13:41 I clearly the team hasn't quit, but the effort and just the production and the way that he
13:46 is just manhandling people.
13:48 I think that you got it.
13:49 One extension is a no brainer, but I think now you got to start thinking about him in
13:54 terms of like, all right, is he a pro bowler?
13:56 Maybe not all pro because interior defensive line is such a stacked position.
14:00 I understand if he doesn't make that, like I get it, especially because he didn't get
14:04 really dominant until about a month into the season, but in terms of pro bowl or some kind
14:08 of recognition, I think he deserves it because I mean, especially what he did now with primetime
14:13 on a national stage, just absolutely dominating a pretty solid offensive line.
14:17 Yeah.
14:18 And so they won't sign him because they just don't sign guys and they let them go into
14:22 their contract year and then they say, go out there and find whatever it is that you
14:26 think you're worth.
14:27 And if it's something we can match, we will.
14:30 And if not, we'll let you walk.
14:31 And that used to work when it was like, hey, it will pay you roughly the same, but you
14:36 get to come back to a team that competes for the Super Bowl.
14:38 It doesn't work like that anymore.
14:40 So it depends who's making the decision on a guy like Barmore.
14:43 If it's Belichick, I would say we're going to be headed for another one of those situations,
14:48 which is going to be extremely frustrated and frustrating and they'll be priced out.
14:53 And if he keeps playing like this and they'll shrug their shoulders and they'll say, value,
14:58 value, value, and they'll put nine special teamers on the worst special teams, you know,
15:03 nine special teams, only players on the worst special teams unit in the NFL.
15:07 And that's how they'll do business.
15:09 If they do something different and someone else is making the call.
15:13 Yes.
15:14 Barmore is a guy you absolutely need to lock up right now.
15:16 You know, if you ask yourself the question we've asked earlier in the year, Taylor, like
15:19 who are the keepers here?
15:20 Right.
15:21 Like who do you envision three, you know, three years from now being a Patriot?
15:25 Are you wanting to be a Patriot?
15:27 And the answer sadly is like Gonzalez and Barmore and that's it.
15:33 Maybe you could find one or two other guys who'd be good, you know, you know, you know,
15:38 complimentary players and this and that.
15:40 But those might be the only two like absolute keepers on your roster that you, you know,
15:44 that you would want right now.
15:45 Some of them, you only see, I'll play a handful of games before you got hurt.
15:48 So yes, Barmore is automatically and he is playing like a man lately even more so.
15:54 And he just keeps getting better and better.
15:57 He's a beast.
15:58 He's a beast.
15:59 He's absolutely somebody you got to keep around if you can.
16:02 But they won't, but they won't, but they won't.
16:05 I mean, he does.
16:06 If there's anybody they're going to pay, it's a guy like him where he doesn't leave the
16:11 field.
16:12 Like he could play every down.
16:13 He's got a defensive tackle who could really bring it on every down since like prime Vince
16:18 Wilford, even Vince towards the end of his career.
16:20 They weren't trying to really play him on pass wrestling situations.
16:22 Like he's more of a run guy.
16:24 They haven't had this in a very long time.
16:28 And not only that, but the consistency, he clearly has a lot of respect from the people
16:31 in the locker room and into like pass rusher period is a position where you do pay people.
16:36 And especially if it's the interior where it's really hard to get away from those guys
16:40 and like a Barmore where you can double team.
16:42 And there are some guys like a Chris Jones where every once in a while, like they're
16:45 just not really feeling it in terms of how they play the run.
16:48 And if you double team them consistently enough, then you can move them.
16:51 But Barmore has been stout at the point of attack.
16:53 He's taking on a lot of people and offenses are treating him like the biggest threat on
16:57 the defensive line and he's still dominating.
16:59 So I think that's the kind of guy that absolutely, I think he's somebody that they are going
17:03 to pay because there's with Tooney, at least you could say, okay, positional value.
17:07 It's not quite there.
17:08 Even if you disagree Barmore, there's no argument not to pay him other than, yeah,
17:12 he hasn't been healthy in the past, but he's healthy now and he's playing well and he's
17:16 putting the work in and you can see Belichick clearly has a lot of respect for him.
17:19 So yeah, I think he's going to get paid.
17:22 Okay.
17:23 Well that's hopefully, you know, that's would be one positive coming out of this season
17:28 if they're able to do something there.
17:30 Speaking of getting paid, you want to get paid.
17:32 You want to get in on the action, jump in on FanDuel.

17:49 partner of the NFL.
17:50 You can get in on any NFL action here.
17:52 Broncos bettors, Moneyline bettors, I'm sure were really, really psyched and then really,
17:57 really upset after what happened here tonight.
18:00 But all you have to do is if you want to cash in on this bonus, $1.50 in bonus, when you
18:05 place a winning $5 Moneyline bet, all you have to do is visit FanDuel.com/Boston.
18:10 Once again, FanDuel.com/Boston.
18:14 Make sure you check it out and get in on the action.
18:19 So Patriots down to the fourth pick.
18:21 We know that now.
18:23 Other takeaways from today's game if there are any, and again, you know, as banged up
18:28 as they've been and as light and talent as they've been, I mean, still you're doing this
18:33 without, and again, not to always bring it back to Zappi, but you're doing this with
18:37 a makeshift offensive line.
18:39 Again, you're doing this without your number one running back and Zeke is just not, you
18:45 know, that guy.
18:46 I mean, he's, you know, admirably filling in, but you don't have Stevenson, arguably
18:50 your most reliable offensive player.
18:51 You're playing without Juju, you're playing without Bourne, you're playing without your
18:55 binky Hunter Henry, and you're still able to do some stuff.
18:58 So again, has to be taken into consideration a little bit there in terms of Zappi's overall
19:04 efforts.
19:05 It's just incredible how little's out there.
19:07 Yeah.
19:08 And speaking of the offensive line, so I'm going to go through my notes real quick.
19:12 So James Ference, who's basically been a coach, he hasn't played, they've had all these injuries.
19:19 This is the first time that they actually signed him to the squad, which showed you
19:22 how desperate they were.
19:24 He comes into the game, immediately allows a sack where he gets thrown to the ground.
19:28 I think he was benched for the rest of the game.
19:30 So that's, you know, that's how you start off.
19:33 Antonio Maffi had three holding penalties.
19:35 One might've been on Bedarian low.
19:37 I think it was a called on Bedarian low, but it should have been Maffi.
19:40 There was a sack that where Zappi lost, where Trent Brown and Mike Inouye, who both lost
19:45 now, you know, I don't think that anyone who struggled throughout the game, so I don't
19:48 want to be too tough on him.
19:49 And obviously Trent Brown is injured.
19:51 He was subbed out from Bedarian low.
19:53 So don't want to beat up on those guys too much.
19:55 And then they couldn't run the ball super consistently either.
19:57 So talk about the offensive line, man, but they're in a really bad spot right now.
20:02 But in the good side of it, I didn't hear Sidney So's name get called.
20:05 That's a positive.
20:06 David Andrews had had a couple of weeks where, you know, allowed some bad pressures, didn't
20:11 hear his name.
20:12 So in that regard, there were some positives, I guess, to take away, but still just the
20:17 lack of depth in the account.
20:18 Like they struggle as you expect them to.
20:21 But hey, I mean, almost more impressive that Zappi was able to pull this off and keep them
20:26 afloat in under those situations.
20:29 And I mean, when you have a defense like the Patriots have, it wasn't perfect.
20:32 And I think they definitely, they said last week when it came to Mahomes making things
20:37 happen when things broke down, that there were things they wanted to fix.
20:41 Well, this week, I don't know how I tried to look and I couldn't figure it out.
20:45 Juwan Bentley covering Marvin Mims like 40 yards downfield.
20:49 I don't understand how that happened.
20:50 I think it was just Bentley probably going outside of his responsibility to try to make
20:55 a play.
20:56 I think if we look back on it and see the all 22, it's probably like, all right, good
20:58 job Bentley, like good effort.
21:00 Because like clearly that's not supposed to happen.
21:03 But you know, the defense played a really good game and it was impressive that, you
21:08 know, Bailey Zappi was able to make chicken soup out of chicken.
21:13 Not soup.
21:14 I don't know what I'm allowed to say, but yeah.
21:17 Sublime, scary, but hey man, you got to tip your cap to Zapp and those receivers as well.
21:23 Yeah.
21:24 The one thing I'll say, you can almost set your watch to it every single week.
21:29 There's a tweet from Taylor that says the defense deserves better than this.
21:34 I'll let you give some hat.
21:35 I'm not saying you're wrong.
21:36 I'm just saying you are an advocate.
21:39 You want to make sure that they get their flowers and they get their love because they
21:43 are continuing for the most part to put up good performances, except for those back to
21:49 back drives where the Broncos spit out 16 points in three minutes there.
21:52 But outside of that, again, you can give a couple of hat tips and I'll let the viewers
21:57 know at home, it's almost Christmas here on the East Coast.
22:00 We are going to wrap it up just before Christmas.
22:03 So all of you can say Merry Christmas to a loved one rather than have to stare at our
22:08 ugly mugs.
22:09 So we'll wrap it up in a couple of minutes here.
22:11 Got any other hat tips to the defense, Taylor?
22:14 Let's go through the notes.
22:15 Miles Bryant made a ton of plays.
22:17 Good for him.
22:18 Guy that people love.
22:19 Give me your Jelani Tavaes around the ball observation.
22:22 Always talking turnovers.
22:23 Him and Peppers.
22:24 I'm serious, man.
22:25 It's Tavaes and Peppers every single week.
22:28 Last week they both did.
22:29 Now Peppers is in here and you still see Jelani Tavaes with the forced fumble.
22:33 And credit to Dietrich Weiss too because I thought, initially I saw that the Broncos
22:37 fell on it.
22:38 He went in the pile and ripped it out and that was allowed Jeremiah Farms to get on
22:42 that.
22:43 So Dietrich Weiss is another guy that doesn't get his flowers very often because of his
22:46 role.
22:47 Awesome job from him.
22:48 Marte Mapu, well, ball magnet two weeks in a row.
22:52 Last week he steals one.
22:53 This week he forces another fumble.
22:56 I needed some validation on Marte Mapu because he quite literally had not made a play at
23:01 all this season until last week.
23:03 My whole thing when he came out of college is he's really good around the ball and he
23:06 can create turnovers and all this stuff.
23:08 And I really think that once he gets more experience and he's more comfortable in a
23:12 bunch of different roles, because he's a rookie playing safety, linebacker and slot corner.
23:17 It's going to be tough for those guys, communication and understanding your place in the defense
23:21 while just adjusting to the NFL period.
23:24 But I really do think that with Marte Mapu, we're going to see the growing pains of this
23:27 year as positives.
23:28 But next year he can line up wherever he wants and he's that freak athlete with incredible
23:32 range and really good ball skills.
23:34 So yeah, Marte, again, Chad Ryland, man, I wish the game would have been a goal.
23:42 Maybe that great goal would have happened later on and it hadn't won the game.
23:46 But bottom line, I'm so happy for him, really.
23:48 He's such a great dude in the locker room.
23:50 Seems really mentally tough, frankly, in terms of the way he handles himself and carries
23:54 himself around us.
23:56 He never really seems phased.
23:57 And clearly works really hard.
23:59 So I was happy for him.
24:00 Trying to see who else in my notes stood out.
24:03 Top Douglas, he had to drop.
24:05 I don't know if he even had a target after that, but he had a really big catch.
24:09 O'Brien used him all in empty formations.
24:11 I really liked what I saw there.
24:13 Because I felt like he had his screens and everything, but no really big plays for a
24:18 while.
24:19 So that was really good to see.
24:20 I think now it might make him one of their leading receivers.
24:23 And I'm going to see, was there anything else?
24:24 And then Zeke with the play where he hopped over the guy and scored the touchdown.
24:28 That was pretty cool.
24:29 And who else?
24:30 Oh, the tight ends.
24:31 I called another one.
24:32 I called another one I had.
24:33 Mike Gacicchi.
24:34 I said he was going to score today.
24:36 I said, I sensed the Gacicchi's touchdown.
24:39 And after halftime, people were like, "Oh, where is it?
24:41 Where is it?"
24:42 I'm like, "Wait until they get in the red zone.
24:43 Maybe a couple more times."
24:44 He got the touchdown.
24:45 So that was pretty neat.
24:47 And then Ferrell Brown doing his Ferrell Brown thing.
24:49 So there you have it.
24:51 Once again, the Patriots have gone from the two drafts.
24:56 A fun game.
24:57 It's weird to not want wins because this was a great win and a fun win and a lot of drama
25:05 and a lot of swings.
25:06 But the Patriots moved from number two to number four in the 2024 NFL Draft.
25:11 That's a piece of coal in your stocking tonight.
25:13 Sorry, my friends.
25:14 It is what it is.
25:16 It's a tough one to swallow as you head to bed here and know that the Patriots now are
25:22 not in line anymore for one of the top two quarterbacks unless they do something drastic
25:29 or some other things happen.
25:31 And that's where we are at with that.
25:34 As we said, we're going to wrap it so you can run off and say Merry Christmas to your
25:38 loved ones and Merry Christmas to all of you out there, for those who celebrate, for those
25:43 who don't.
25:44 Happy holidays.
25:45 We love you.
25:46 And we will see you during the week with a lot more Patriots content.
25:49 But take some time off.
25:51 Really chill.
25:53 We're still back at it at work tomorrow.
25:54 Garden Report doing a postgame show following the Lakers and the Celtics.
25:58 So any of you basketball fans want to jump in on that, that should be fun.
26:02 We're coming at you right after the game.
26:04 But Taylor, Merry Christmas to you, my man.
26:06 Merry Christmas, brother.
26:07 Appreciate you.
26:08 All right.
26:09 We will see you.
