00:02 Coach Nansen, can you talk a little bit about playing a first year quarterback,
00:06 making his first start in this game?
00:07 And maybe part of that same question to the defensive players as well
00:10 in Jackson Arnold.
00:12 I think he's pretty special.
00:13 Obviously he was a highly recruited kid coming out of high school.
00:16 We got the chance to watch him a little bit
00:18 because he played a little bit in the PYU game.
00:21 He knows the offense, you know, he's dangerous with his feet.
00:25 So we got to make sure we're accounted
00:27 because of quarterback runs and things like that that they like to do.
00:29 So we're ready, we're excited to play and I know our guys are excited to play.
00:34 For defensive players at the podium, plus Johnny,
00:38 after they've had a chance to address this,
00:39 do you guys buy into the idea that a first year starting quarterback can be rattled?
00:43 Or is that sort of out the window anymore with college football?
00:50 I would say that we typically approach games how we're going to approach it.
00:56 We analyze the quarterback, his tendencies no matter what,
01:00 no matter if it's first start or it's a hundredth start.
01:02 So we try not to get caught up in that and just watch the film,
01:06 prepare how we're supposed to and go to war with our brothers.
01:11 I say, yeah we respect everybody going into it, prepare the same way.
01:18 Of course, you know, we'd like to take advantage of it, being his first start.
01:22 But he's a good kid, good athlete, so yeah, respect him, fear no one though.
01:28 You know, in the Pac-12 we face a lot of good quarterbacks.
01:31 You know, we know who we're going to face.
01:33 Very talented kid, like I said he was highly recruited.
01:36 So we're prepared for every situation, that's the thing about the bowl games,
01:39 you're not going to invent any new things.
01:41 So we're just going to prepare the way we prepare
01:44 and be ready for whoever the quarterback is.
01:47 It's just the way we approach things and our guys.
01:50 The one thing we preach about is, you know,
01:52 our preparation is going to set us free.
01:54 So our kids are prepared for anything that comes their way
01:57 and they're excited to play this game.
01:59 So we're fired up to be here.
