00:00 Hey Montreal, welcome to Good Bites. I'm Alex and this is the show where I bring you along
00:10 with me to get a taste of the best that Montreal has to offer when it comes to food.
00:15 Beautiful sunny day in Montreal, perfect weather for today's spot that recently began offering
00:19 its already recognizable boxes full of sushi.

00:35 Sushi department is obviously not traditional sushi. We have a lot of experience with traditional
00:40 sushi, Ryu Sushi being the brand that we've had for years. We wanted to do something a
00:46 little bit different that was a lot more accessible for people. We mix interesting flavors, we
00:51 mix new flavors, so yuzu with salmon, spicy tuna, we have our spicy tuna crispy rice,
00:57 which is obviously not traditional at all. Today we're going to give you a little bit
01:01 of everything. Spicy tuna crispy rice, salmon yuzu crispy rice, and our famous avocado truffle
01:07 crispy rice. The big crab hand roll, we have our spicy salmon, spicy tuna, kamikaze roll.
01:13 You're going to get to try a little bit of everything.
01:16 Alright, so sushi department let me go with two boxes instead of just one, so I decided
01:24 to bring my girlfriend Liz and get a taste test with her here too.
01:33 Crispy rice, it's so weird. You can see how soft it is on the inside, but it's crispy
01:38 and crunchy on the outside. This is very strange. Let's give this a little dunk. Truffle avocado.
01:45 I think that no matter what you're making, if you can get the outside nice and crispy
01:52 and crunchy, but keep the inside nice and just soft and fluffy, you win. Sushi department
01:58 wins.
01:59 My favorite thing about tuna sushi is the color. Look how bright and beautiful red that
02:07 is.
02:08 This is hands down the piece I am most excited to taste because it apparently took them a
02:13 month to come up with the concept for this and when that blowtorch came out, I knew I
02:18 had to taste this.
02:19 Get a little bit of that soy sauce.
02:28 You have that scorch from the blowtorch, but it's not overwhelming. It's not too smoky.
02:33 It's just smoky enough. Not bad.
