PM gets ‘lovely’ response to news of NI cut during visit

Rishi Sunak visited the Veka factory in Burnley on Monday morning, where he spoke to employees and witnessed production of UPVC windows. During a visit to the canteen, the prime minister informed staff about his cut in National Insurance, one employee responded with the word “lovely”. Report by Blairm. 00:27 is that I don't know if you caught some of the news,
00:29 but we were really keen-- manage the economy well last year,
00:31 get inflation down, so that we could start cutting your taxes.
00:34 So as of this past weekend, your taxes have now been cut.
00:38 So we've cut the rate of national insurance from 12%
00:40 to 10%.
00:41 I see some nodding, which is good.
00:43 So depending on how much you're interested,
00:45 someone on an average wage of about 35 grand
00:47 will get a 450 pound tax cut, which kicked in as of this
00:50 weekend.
00:51 So hopefully that's that lovely good, right?
