00:00 As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
00:07 Welcome to the series of the Daurah of the Quran Translation.
00:12 As you know that the study of Surah Al-Baqarah is ongoing.
00:15 In Ayah 177, the mention of the truth of goodness came to us.
00:19 We are proceeding with the study.
00:20 Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 178,
00:22 addressing the nation of the Prophet (pbuh) and many commandments are coming to us.
00:27 Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 178,
00:30 I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan.
00:32 In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Ever Merciful.
00:34 O ye who believe!
00:35 It is decreed for you to be judged in the cause of death.
00:38 O ye who believe!
00:39 It is obligatory upon you to be judged in the cause of death.
00:45 If a murderer kills someone, he will be judged in the cause of death.
00:50 The murderer will be judged in the cause of death.
00:52 This is called the judgment.
00:54 In the time of Jahiliyyah, people used to do such things.
00:58 If the head of a family dies, the murderer will be killed five times.
01:04 It is said that
01:05 Al-hurru bil-hurri wal-abdu bil-abdi wal-umtha bil-umtha
01:09 Azaad for Azaad, Ghulam for Ghulam, and Aurat for Aurat.
01:13 That is, the one who killed will be killed in the cause of death.
01:17 The murderer will be killed in the cause of death.
01:21 An option for forgiveness has been given.
01:24 Faman 'ufiya lahum min aqee shay'un fattiba'un bil-ma'roofi
01:27 wa-ada'un ilayhi bi-ihsaan
01:30 So, if the murderer is forgiven by his brother,
01:33 he should follow the custom and should pay the price with dignity.
01:39 What does this mean?
01:40 If the heirs of the murderer want, they can forgive the murderer.
01:44 'Wa-hu'un baha'a'
01:46 Blood money will be paid by the murderer, his relatives, and the state.
01:52 This option has been given.
01:53 But if the heirs of the murderer want, they can forgive the murderer.
01:58 'Wa-hu'un baha'a'
02:00 It is said,
02:01 'Dhalika takhfifu mir-Rabbikum wa-Rahma'a'
02:04 This is a favor and mercy from your Lord.
02:08 'Fa-manee'at-adha ba'da dhalika falahu 'adhabun 'aleem'
02:11 So, whoever commits injustice after this, he will be punished.
02:14 If the murderer is forgiven, he should pay the price.
02:17 If he does not pay, he is committing injustice.
02:19 And the heirs of the murderer took the blood money.
02:23 They still have the spirit of revenge.
02:25 This is their case of injustice.
02:27 No one should commit injustice.
02:28 Why was this order of 'Qisas' given?
02:30 It is said,
02:31 'Wa-lakum fil-Qisasi hayatun ya'ulil-albabi la'allakum tattaqun'
02:35 And your 'Qisas' is life, O wise men, so that you can save yourself.
02:40 From whom?
02:41 From murder and rape.
02:43 Some people say that these are very severe punishments.
02:45 This is strange.
02:46 These people love the murderers and the criminals.
02:50 The widow of the murderer and her orphaned children,
02:53 they have no love for them.
02:54 And they should not worry about their lives being wasted.
02:57 Allah is our Creator.
02:59 He says, 'Qisas ki hukum-e-zindagani'
03:01 A person will think a hundred times that if he commits a murder,
03:04 he can also be killed.
03:06 He will be saved and the one who is going to be killed will also be saved.
03:08 Allah wants to give this life to the person
03:11 from whom the lives will be saved and the circle of enmity will not be long.
03:15 Otherwise, the one who loves the other, his son, his uncle, his nephew,
03:20 he will have an endless chain of love.
03:22 'La'allakum tattaqun'
03:24 So that you can save yourself from murder and rape.
03:26 This is Allah's command.
03:27 Nobody can deny this.
03:29 Even if someone is a Muslim, Allah does not deny the 'Qisas' command.
03:33 He said, 'Make good your faith and worry about your hereafter.'
03:35 Allahu Akbar.
03:36 After this, the first commandment is being given about the will.
03:40 Although later Allah has given the rights of the heirs and determined them,
03:46 this commandment will be considered as 'Mansookh'.
03:49 Let's understand this.
03:50 It was said, 'Kutiba 'Alaikum Iza Hadhara Ahadakumul Mautu Imtaraqa Khairanil Wasiyyatu Lilwalidayni Wal Aqarabina Bil Maaroof'
03:59 It has been made obligatory on you that when the time of death comes for any of you,
04:03 if you leave your wealth, then make a will for your parents and relatives in a known way.
04:09 It is the duty of the righteous to do this.
04:14 This was the first commandment.
04:16 Later, Allah has given the rights of the parents, children, husband and wife.
04:21 Those commandments are mentioned in Surah Nisa Ayat 11 and 12.
04:25 So this commandment will be considered as 'Mansookh' or 'Abrogated'.
04:28 'Fa Man Baddala Hu Ba'adama Sami'ahu Fa Innama Itmuhu 'Ala Al-Ladhina Yubaddiluna'
04:34 Whoever changes it after he has heard it,
04:38 then his sin is only on those who have changed it.
04:42 'Imna Allahas Sami'una 'Azeem'
04:44 Undoubtedly, Allah is the One who hears well and has knowledge.
04:47 If someone is beating a stick in the matter of a will,
04:50 then Allah is the One who hears and has knowledge.
04:52 Allah knows everything, so Allah will have to answer.
04:54 'Fa Man Khawfa Min Moosin Janafana 'U Itman Fa Asliha Bainahum Fa La Itma 'Ali'
05:01 So whoever is afraid of the will of the Willer,
05:04 or is afraid of sin, then make reconciliation between them.
05:07 Then there is no sin in this.
05:09 'Inna Allaha Ghafoorun Rahim'
05:11 Undoubtedly, Allah is the One who is very Merciful.
05:15 The Willer has made such a will that is against the Shariah,
05:19 then he will have to follow the Shariah.
05:21 If he has done injustice to someone, then he will have to remove it.
05:25 If the will has to be changed in this regard,
05:27 so that the matter is done according to the Shariah,
05:29 then there is no harm in it.
05:31 Undoubtedly, Allah is the One who is Forgiving and Merciful.
05:33 Keep in mind about the will.
05:35 Allah has decided the share of the inheritance.
05:38 So now there is no will for the heir.
05:40 It is mentioned in the hadith that there is a scope for a will for the non-heir.
05:43 That too, to the maximum extent of one third of the wealth.
05:46 This detail is in the Tafaseer and we can see it in the blessed hadith.
05:50 Ladies and gentlemen,
05:52 The next Rukoo of Surah Al-Baqarah is Rukoo number 23,
05:54 'Mahe Ramadanul Mubarak'.
05:56 This Rukoo is very important in the Holy Quran.
05:58 'Mahe Ramadan', its obligatory fasting,
06:00 and everything about Ramadan that has been mentioned in the Holy Quran is in this one Rukoo.
06:04 Namaz, Zakat, Hajj, Umrah, etc.
06:06 It is mentioned repeatedly in other places.
06:08 But the statement of 'Mahe Ramadan', its obligatory fasting,
06:10 and matters related to Ramadan,
06:12 all of these have been mentioned in this one Rukoo.
06:15 It is stated,
06:17 (Arabic)
06:23 O ye who believe! It has been made obligatory for you to fast,
06:26 as it was made obligatory for you to fast on the people before you,
06:28 that you may become righteous.
06:30 This is not a new commandment.
06:32 People have been given this commandment before, and now you are also being given this commandment.
06:34 Allah has made it easy for us.
06:36 It is also a Sehri.
06:38 The Jews did not fast on Sehri.
06:40 It was a difficult matter.
06:42 So it is not a new matter.
06:44 What is the purpose?
06:45 They leave Halal,
06:47 and leave the relationship of eating and drinking.
06:49 Leave Haram.
06:51 Now there is fasting for the whole existence,
06:53 and fasting for the whole life.
06:55 You are leaving Halal in this fast,
06:57 and you are preparing for the fast for the whole life.
06:59 What is the fast for the whole life?
07:01 It is to leave sins.
07:03 It is mentioned in Hadith that even after fasting,
07:05 no one has stopped lying and acting on falsehoods.
07:07 Allah does not need to be hungry and thirsty for such a person.
07:09 May Allah grant us all this state of righteousness.
07:11 (Arabic)
07:13 In the beginning of the first day of Ramadan,
07:15 when the commandment of fasting was given,
07:17 three fasts were observed every month.
07:19 And the fast of Muharram on the 10th was also observed.
07:21 The statement of Ramadan fasts will come in the next verse,
07:23 in verse number 185.
07:25 The first was the matter of a few days of counting.
07:27 (Arabic)
07:29 It is said that the number of days is a few days.
07:31 (Arabic)
07:33 So whoever of them is sick or is on a journey,
07:35 (Arabic)
07:37 so he shall count the days of the other days.
07:39 (Arabic)
07:41 So he shall count the days of the other days.
07:43 (Arabic)
07:45 (Arabic)
07:47 And whoever has the strength,
07:49 but still does not fast,
07:51 it is their responsibility
07:53 to give a sacrifice to feed a poor person.
07:55 This is a translation according to one opinion.
07:57 The details of this can be seen in the commentary.
07:59 So the first option was
08:01 that if you do not want to fast,
08:03 then you will give a sacrifice to feed the poor.
08:05 But later this commandment was also changed.
08:07 This is the reason why
08:09 the month of Ramadan is mentioned in the next verse.
08:11 You will have to fast for that.
08:13 So in the beginning,
08:15 the commandment was gradually
08:17 to make it familiar.
08:19 And then the last commandment
08:21 is that in the next verse,
08:23 the month of Ramadan is mentioned
08:25 and the obligation of fasting is mentioned.
08:27 Anyway, there are some commandments
08:29 whose details are more.
08:31 And this is not the opportunity
08:33 to go into more detail in the Quran.
08:35 We just want to sit in the mind
08:37 of the people of the world
08:39 and then Allah will give us the opportunity
08:41 to study the Quran for a year
08:43 and to study the commentary.
08:45 So we will have more details in the next verse.
08:47 Allah said,
08:49 "So whoever volunteers good,
08:51 it is good for Allah."
08:53 So whoever does good,
08:55 it is better for him.
08:57 Allah said,
08:59 "And if you fast,
09:01 it is better for you,
09:03 if you know."
09:05 Now this is not for us.
09:07 This is for the beginning of the Quran.
09:09 When the commandments of the Shariah
09:11 were coming,
09:13 Allah said,
09:15 "And if you fast,
09:17 it is better for you,
09:19 if you know."
09:21 Now what is the mention of Ramadan?
09:23 "The month of Ramadan
09:25 in which the Qur'an was revealed."
09:27 The word Ramadan is very beautiful.
09:29 It is translated in Arabic.
09:31 It has a literal meaning.
09:33 It means the month of forgiveness.
09:35 Allah is great.
09:37 But why is this month better?
09:39 "The month of Ramadan
09:41 in which the Qur'an was revealed."
09:43 The month of Ramadan in which the Qur'an was revealed.
09:45 The month of Ramadan is better
09:47 because of the revelation of the Holy Quran.
09:49 This is a very important point.
09:51 Ramadan is better because of the revelation of the Holy Quran.
09:53 So in this blessed month,
09:55 the connection with the Quran,
09:57 its recitation, its Sunnah,
09:59 its translation, its commentary,
10:01 should be kept in mind.
10:03 Allah said, "This Qur'an
10:05 is guidance for all people."
10:07 "And there are clear signs of guidance in it."
10:09 "And this is the Qur'an
10:11 that distinguishes between truth and falsehood."
10:13 "So whoever of you
10:15 gets this month,
10:17 he should fast
10:19 in this blessed month."
10:21 Now this is the matter of Ramadan
10:23 fasting.
10:25 Yes, there is still an option
10:27 or a choice.
10:29 What is that?
10:31 "And whoever is sick or on a journey
10:33 for several days,
10:35 he should count the days
10:37 in which he is sick or on a journey."
10:39 "Allah wants ease for you,
10:41 and He does not want hardship for you."
10:43 Allah wants to make it easy for you,
10:45 He does not want to make it difficult for you.
10:47 A disease is such that fasting is harmful.
10:49 The journey is difficult.
10:51 Leave it, eat later.
10:53 Such an old man that he has become very old.
10:55 Or such a permanent patient
10:57 whose treatment will always continue.
10:59 For them, leave fasting
11:01 and they will perform Fidya.
11:03 But the one who is sick,
11:05 will recover from the disease,
11:07 the journey will end,
11:09 and he will have to perform Fidya later.
11:11 There are specific days and specific matters of women.
11:13 Because of them, they will have to leave fasting
11:15 and later they will have to perform Fidya.
11:17 The rest of the commentary rules,
11:19 Alhamdulillah, many scholars state,
11:21 should learn, should act.
11:23 What is the real thing?
11:25 First, this thing came,
11:27 and said that Allah wants to make it easy for you,
11:29 He does not want to make it difficult for you.
11:31 The fasts of the whole year were not obligatory,
11:33 but the fasts of one month were obligatory.
11:35 That too from the morning of Sadiq to sunset.
11:37 And in that too Allah made it easy for you.
11:39 Further said,
11:41 (Arabic)
11:43 "And that you may complete the count,
11:45 and that you may complete the count,
11:47 and that you may declare the greatness of Allah
11:49 on the guidance that Allah has given you,
11:51 and that you may be grateful,
11:53 and that you may be grateful."
11:55 The great blessing that you have received from the Quran,
11:57 the Quran is saying to keep fasts on it.
11:59 Allahu Akbar!
12:01 It is such a great blessing,
12:03 that it is being made to keep fasts to be grateful.
12:05 And why is the night prayer,
12:07 which we call Tarawih,
12:09 this is the Sunnah of the Quran.
12:11 Although there is a shortage,
12:13 we listen to it but do not understand.
12:15 Because of this, our Ustaz, Dr. Israr Sahib,
12:17 started this series with the Tarawih,
12:19 in Lahore, in the early 80s.
12:21 This series is spread all over Pakistan.
12:23 Many other scholars are doing this work.
12:25 Scholars of mosques are doing this.
12:27 Scholars of mosques are doing this.
12:29 So that we listen to the Quran at night,
12:31 and the translation of the Quran is also made.
12:33 And thanks to Allah,
12:35 we are getting this blessing here on QTV,
12:37 in the 14th year,
12:39 that Alhamdulillah, QTV's management
12:41 has given us time for the Quran.
12:43 May Allah reward them.
12:45 The same title is "Daur-e-Tarjima-e-Quran".
12:47 The translation of the Quran,
12:49 is being made for the Quran.
12:51 May Allah bless us in this work.
12:53 And may Allah enable us to learn more
12:55 and to act.
12:57 Now, what is a great achievement of fasting?
12:59 Our soul is awakened.
13:01 The body becomes weak, it does not get food and water.
13:03 The soul is awakened,
13:05 the connection with Allah is strengthened.
13:07 And the food of the soul is the Quran.
13:09 They should recite it in Tarawih at night,
13:11 and when the soul is awakened,
13:13 the connection with Allah will be strengthened.
13:15 Allah is so close.
13:17 And when my Prophet, peace be upon him,
13:19 when my servant asks you about me,
13:21 then I am close to him.
13:23 Glory be to Allah.
13:25 In Surah Qaaf, verse 26, Allah is closer to us than our city.
13:29 What is the state of nearness?
13:31 "Whenever the supplicant prays,
13:33 I accept his prayer."
13:35 Allahu Akbar.
13:37 "Whenever you want, call out."
13:39 Allahu Akbar.
13:41 But what is the condition?
13:43 It is a two-way traffic.
13:45 "And they believe that they will be rightly guided."
13:47 They should obey my command,
13:49 and believe in me,
13:51 so that they may be guided.
13:53 This is the most important thing.
13:55 Believe in me, and obey my command.
13:57 We read in verse 152,
13:59 Allah says, "Remember Me, and I will remember you."
14:01 If we believe in Allah,
14:03 Allah will accept us.
14:05 There are bribes, interest,
14:07 there is a problem in inheritance,
14:09 there is shamelessness,
14:11 wasting of prayers,
14:13 and God will accept our prayers.
14:15 How come?
14:17 Allah says, "Obey Me,
14:19 and believe in Me,
14:21 so that they may be guided."
14:23 The word "Hasil" is from "Rudha".
14:25 It is mentioned in Hadith.
14:27 It is a narration of Bukhari.
14:29 Allah says, "Rudha is for Me,
14:31 I am its reward."
14:33 Allah will give it to the person.
14:35 "Whenever you want, call out."
14:37 "But obey My command,
14:39 and I will accept your prayers."
14:41 The statement of "Masa'il" in the next verse,
14:43 is about Ramadan and fasting.
14:45 Allah says, "It is lawful for you
14:47 to go to your wives on the night of fasting."
14:49 It is permissible for Jews.
14:51 "It is permissible for Jews
14:53 to go to their wives on the night of fasting."
14:55 It is permissible for Jews.
14:57 "It is permissible for Jews
14:59 to go to their wives on the night of fasting."
15:01 "It is permissible for Jews
15:03 to go to their wives on the night of fasting."
15:05 "They are your garments,
15:07 and you are their garments."
15:09 "They are your garments,
15:11 and you are their garments."
15:13 There is no better word for
15:15 the closeness of husband and wife.
15:17 What is this garment?
15:19 It is the closest to the body,
15:21 it is the one that gives comfort,
15:23 it is the one that reveals the beauty,
15:25 it is the one that covers the shortcomings of man,
15:27 it is the one that is connected to the body.
15:29 Allah wants to see this closeness
15:31 between husband and wife.
15:33 Satan wants to make us fight.
15:35 Do you remember what Satan's agent learned
15:37 from the Quran?
15:39 Satan wants to fight,
15:41 and Allah wants to make a close relationship.
15:43 The word "closeness" is the ultimate
15:45 meaning of this word.
15:47 "They are your garments,
15:49 and you are their garments."
15:51 "They are your garments,
15:53 and you are their garments."
15:55 "Allah knows that you were
15:57 treating yourself with treachery."
15:59 "Allah knows that you were
16:01 treating yourself with treachery."
16:03 "So Allah has shown mercy on you
16:05 that the Jews did not have a lawful
16:07 relationship, and I do not know
16:09 if it is lawful for us."
16:11 Some companions were a little worried
16:13 about this. Allah has explained it.
16:15 Allah has forgiven them.
16:17 "It is permissible to establish a relationship
16:19 on the night of fasting,
16:21 and forbidden during the fasting period."
16:23 "So you should make a covenant with them,
16:25 and seek what Allah has decided for you."
16:27 "And seek what Allah has decided for you."
16:29 This means to have children.
16:31 The marriage is a big purpose of marriage.
16:33 "And seek what Allah has decided for you."
16:35 "And seek what Allah has decided for you."
16:37 "And seek what Allah has decided for you."
16:39 "And eat and drink until the white thread
16:41 of the day is clear to you,
16:43 and eat and drink until the white thread
16:45 of the day is clear to you,
16:47 and eat and drink until the white thread
16:49 of the day is clear to you,
16:51 and the white thread of the night
16:53 is clear to you."
16:55 This means to have a pure breakfast.
16:57 Before that, it is a matter of eating.
16:59 "There is blessing in the night."
17:01 "Do it in the morning."
17:03 "Even if it is not a good thing."
17:05 "The morning is pure."
17:07 "Now the fast has started."
17:09 "And stop eating and drinking."
17:11 "Then you should fast until the night."
17:13 "Then you should fast until the night."
17:15 "The night means the sunset."
17:17 "And it is in the blessed hadith."
17:19 "As soon as the time comes,
17:21 you should do iftar."
17:23 "And you should not have a relationship
17:25 with those wives."
17:27 "And you should not have a relationship
17:29 with those wives."
17:31 "And you should not have a relationship
17:33 with those wives."
17:35 "And you should not have a relationship
17:37 with those wives."
17:39 "And you should not have a relationship
17:41 with those wives."
17:43 "And you should not have a relationship
17:45 with those wives."
17:47 "And you should not have a relationship
17:49 with those wives."
17:51 "And you should not have a relationship
