00:00 >> Tell me a little bit about the ending couple minutes against Cincinnati and
00:04 just how you guys kind of overcome that and move on.
00:07 >> No, we gotta do better.
00:10 I gotta do better.
00:11 Down the line, game on the wire, those little details in which we slipped up.
00:16 Could have done some stuff better, could have executed better, but
00:19 that's what practice is here for today.
00:21 We're gonna go over some things we could have done better and execute it better.
00:25 >> As you look ahead to Iowa State, what do you see on film so far?
00:29 >> We haven't seen Iowa State as a team yet, but
00:32 personally from the games I've seen them play, the last game against BYU and
00:36 just how they get up and down the floor.
00:38 Physical team, just like every other team in the Big 12,
00:41 can rebound the ball well, good defensive team.
00:44 Just gotta prioritize us right now just because we have some stuff we need to work
00:49 on. >> What are some of those things?
00:50 >> Down the line, one thing, free throws, those are freebies.
00:55 And at the line, if we could hit more free throws, that could help the win margin.
01:00 Not even the win margin, just the margin of the game.
01:02 That could change the possessions, change the way we execute,
01:04 change the way the game flows.
01:06 >> You're Big 12 Player of the Week last week.
01:10 What does it mean to be recognized by the conference like that?
01:13 >> It's always an honor.
01:14 It's always a blessing to be recognized as one of the best players in this league.
01:19 That's where the hard work comes from.
01:20 I put a lot of hours into this gym, and
01:22 just blessed to be recognized as Big 12 Player of the Week.
01:26 >> You came back for another year.
01:30 >> Yeah. >> You kinda had your list of things you
01:32 wanted to work on this offseason and improve on this year.
01:34 >> Yeah. >> Perimeter defense,
01:36 three-point shooting, those kinds of things.
01:37 How do you feel you've progressed so far this season?
01:39 >> I think it's going along well.
01:41 I think I've shot the ball better.
01:43 I think my attempts per game, per three, is increasing with the ball.
01:47 But as the more I shoot, I think my passing has gotten better.
01:52 One thing Dixon and the staff here harps on is the turnover ratio.
01:57 And they're quick to tell us if we're doing a good job or a bad job.
02:00 They've done a good job of telling me that I've been doing good.
02:03 And just being a leader, helping my teammates within this program.
02:09 I think I've done a good job going big.
02:11 >> How much does it mean to get back at home and
02:15 play in front of a crowd as all the students are coming back for school?
02:19 How are you guys feeling about playing that home game?
02:23 >> I can't wait for this weekend to be blacked out.
02:26 I was actually at Kroger and I saw some students here at TCU just hyping me up for
02:31 the game.
02:31 And that means the world because the game is this Saturday, but
02:34 it's already on their mind.
02:36 And I just can't wait to see the student section loud and
02:39 packed and filled and ready to go.
02:41 >> Obviously, there's been a couple games so
02:43 far that have come down to the wire on the road and stuff like this.
02:46 Didn't go where you wanted to go, and you talk about moving on.
02:48 How do you as a leader get your team together and say, hey,
02:52 it's behind us, let's move forward?
02:54 >> Yeah, I tell them every time it's a long season.
02:57 You harp on one game, you think about the last game.
03:00 Guess what, you're playing another ranked team the next game.
03:03 So it's always that next game up, as if it's the next man up and tell them.
03:07 And I just try to harp that into my teammates,
03:10 try to hope they recognize that every game's important and we gotta move on.
03:14 >> TC is retiring Kenrich Williams number in a couple of weeks.
03:17 I don't know how much you've been able to interact with him during your time here,
03:20 but just tell me a little bit about his impact on the program.
03:22 >> It's huge, his impact on TCU and the community and
03:26 future players that plays in the division.
03:28 He's one of the 6A, 6-9 versatile wing defenders that could hit the corner three,
03:33 but also do many things on the court.
03:35 So I think players, a lot of players within this community looks up to him just
03:40 because they see the impact he's had on the game and how he's progressed in the league.
