00:06 The Senate voted in favor of Senator Cayetano's appointment during today's session,
00:11 following a motion by Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva.
00:15 The minority in the Senate also extended their congratulations.
00:19 There were no objections to Senator Villanueva's motion.
00:25 It's a fact that Senator Pia Cayetano, our distinguished colleague,
00:30 will be the first female chairperson of the Blue Ribbon Committee of the Senate
00:37 in its 106 years in existence.
00:47 Let me repeat that.
00:48 The Senate has been in existence for 106 years,
00:52 providing the checks and balances in a bicameral system.
00:56 So we're very honored that Senator Pia Cayetano is the new chairperson.
