00:00 Hello, I am here with Charlie who is a digital reporter at Bristol World and we are going
00:08 to be discussing the top five news stories in the city this week. So Charlie, can you
00:13 tell me what is our top story this week?
00:16 I can. So our top story this week is that the reasons for the closure of a Toby Cargury
00:22 in Bristol have finally been revealed. So the pub and restaurant, but now thanks to
00:28 a Freedom of Information request by Bristol World, we have been able to find out that
00:32 this was actually following a food hygiene inspection and that also they found mouse
00:38 droppings across the restaurant, including under most seating areas and on one of the
00:43 tables. But we should add that Mitchells and Butler's, the owners of the Toby Cargury chain,
00:50 say that they have since resolved the issues from three months ago, they are back open
00:55 now and that they are confident that their hygiene standards are to the highest order.
01:00 That is a good one for the residents in Whitchurch Village. So shall we move on to our second
01:06 top story in the city this week? Tell me about that.
01:09 So our second top story is another food related one and a bit more positive, which is that
01:15 a new Cantonese and dim sum restaurant is opening in Bristol city centre.
01:20 Ah, that's a really exciting one to start the year off then. Shall we move on to our
01:25 third top story in the city this week? Tell me about that.
01:30 So our third top story is that Parsons Bakery, the long running bakery chain, is opening
01:37 a new pizza kitchen in one of its stores. So it's going to be opening in the Knoll store.
01:44 Ah, that's another really good one for the foodies among us Bristolians. So shall we
01:50 move on? Tell me our next top story in the city this week.
01:55 So our next top story is that a Crazy Golf course has announced it is closing after less
02:01 than three years. So this community Crazy Golf course is called Filwood Crazy Golf in
02:08 Filwood Community Centre in Norwest and the owners of it have said that across the years
02:15 it's become weather damaged and therefore they now have to shut it due to health and
02:19 safety reasons.
02:20 Ah, okay, so that's a sad one for a small business. Shall we move on to our final top
02:29 story this week? Tell me about that.
02:32 So our final top story is that residents in South Bristol have hit out at an ongoing road
02:38 closure which they say is very annoying and very confusing and causing lots of disruption
02:44 to their travels. So it's a junction of Salcombe Road and Airport Road between the Hengrove
02:50 and Norwest communities.
02:52 Hopefully things will get sorted out as we get further into the year. So that is everybody
02:57 up to date with our top five news stories in Bristol this week. Whatever you're doing,
03:02 have a great day!
