00:00 >> Busy?
00:01 >> Yeah, busy, he's busy.
00:02 He's got things going on.
00:03 >> You played all 20 minutes, obviously a huge fan on Tuesday.
00:08 What was just like the mentality going in trying to make sure this thing got over
00:10 the top on the road?
00:11 >> We lost back to back games.
00:14 It's hard losing at home.
00:15 We wanna secure those wins.
00:17 And we need to get our first road win.
00:19 Road wins are huge in this league.
00:21 And we just wanna get the job done.
00:22 >> When you get down early like that on the road especially, and
00:27 I know you're happy to get Iowa State too, what's the mentality of the team
00:31 that allowed you to climb back into both of those games and
00:34 come away with the win on Tuesday?
00:36 >> No, just realizing every possession matters.
00:37 Winning a game in the Big 12 is hard.
00:41 You don't wanna, teams are gonna go on runs.
00:44 They went on a huge run during that first media and the second media.
00:49 And you have to respond.
00:51 If you don't respond, they're just gonna extend that run.
00:53 So I think we did a good job of just responding.
00:56 >> Dixon talks a lot about when you first got here,
00:57 you were kind of like an undersized five.
00:59 And now he's used you as a true bonafide wing.
01:02 Can you just kind of talk about the development that grew up and
01:04 the challenges that's trying to make that transition?
01:06 >> Yeah, that's one of the main reasons why I came here.
01:09 At A&M, that's how I was utilized a little bit.
01:12 Transferred here to the system where we play a lot of four out one in.
01:15 And he's not only been able to teach me a lot of the things that I've been doing on
01:21 the court, but he's also helped my teammates in that aspect too.
01:24 So I think my whole group, we've all learned from him.
01:28 >> You guys reduced the turnover substantially from the Iowa State game
01:32 from 27 to 9.
01:33 What would you attribute that to?
01:35 >> Practice.
01:38 Having that many turnovers, regardless of who you're playing.
01:41 If it's a team not in the Big 12,
01:43 you're not gonna win a game having that many turnovers.
01:45 So going to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State,
01:48 we have to take care of business and take care of the ball.
01:51 >> You guys, you daily as a rival or is this just another Big 12 game?
01:54 >> Another Big 12 game.
01:55 It's another Big 12 game.
01:57 >> What have you seen from Baylor so far this year?
01:59 How have you seen anything from them?
02:00 >> They play transition, which is what we do.
02:04 So we know they get up and down.
02:05 We know they do a no middle defense.
02:08 They get into the ball handling.
02:10 And they load up.
02:10 They do a great job of loading up.
02:12 So we got to make sure we can't trigger off the ball and just execute.
02:15 >> How good was it to go up to Stillwater and play alongside Avery?
02:20 A guy that I think has played 50 games in that building.
02:22 >> Yeah.
02:23 >> He has a good last couple minutes there, hits the three and
02:25 also charging away with the win.
02:27 >> Yeah, it's probably surreal for him to play in that atmosphere because that's
02:30 where he committed.
02:31 That's where he spent the majority of his collegiate career.
02:34 And for us to get that win for him, it was huge.
02:36 Because I know he had family.
02:38 I know he had something to prove.
02:39 And I know he was just happy to be back in that building.
02:41 So that was actually my first win in Stillwater as well since I've been here.
02:45 So that was an amazing feeling for myself as well.
02:48 >> Was that kind of a goal that was talked about going into that game,
02:51 was trying to get one for Avery?
02:52 >> For sure.
02:53 Get one for Avery and get one for us because we need that win.
02:56 >> Anything else for you, man?
02:59 >> Thanks, sir.
03:00 >> Okay, thanks.
