00:00 I'm Doug Vasquez from Sports Illustrated and I'm here with Derek Sullivan better known as Derek from better
00:05 Derek let's get right into it. You went viral this past week
00:09 You were pretty confident that the Bills were gonna win the Super Bowl this year
00:12 So you went ahead and got a preemptive Bill Super Bowl champion tattoo that's gone pretty viral
00:18 What what led you to that decision? Were you confident that the Bills were the best team in the league? Were you trying to?
00:24 Capitalize on a viral opportunity what what led to that decision?
00:29 First of all, I want to clarify that I'm not a Bills fan at all. I don't I don't care about the Bills. I
00:33 Not a fan at all. I did it because
00:36 I'm a professional sports gambler and somehow I've developed a reputation online
00:42 Where my bets and picks are just not good and that was that's been
00:48 frustrating for really the last year now and I decided to take a big swing to change that narrative and
00:53 unfortunately, it blew up in my face and
00:58 Yeah now it's just it's been
01:00 Something I have to live with something I have to deal with I think in one of your interviews
01:04 You said you were gonna reach out to Josh Allen and he asked him to pay for the removal. Have you reached out to him yet?
01:09 Absolutely. I've DM'd him and asked him no response, but I would love to see I would love for him to to cover the removal
01:16 Payment, but I don't see that happening
01:18 But as far as if what else I'll do, I don't know
01:22 I I don't know. I don't know what I'm gonna do, but I'll figure are you you?
01:28 Think you might keep it or you as just like a reminder. It's kind of a cool thing to have. I mean you went
01:34 Yeah, I don't care about the virality of it all I just wanted the freaking money
01:39 That's what I was there for and I wanted to my reputation
01:43 And so you're asking like oh, but it's cool to keep around that only hurts my reputation as a professional sports gambler
01:49 Seeing that I have the wrong so I'd like to get it removed and and and I'd like people to forget about it
01:55 But we'll see what was your reception from the Bills mafia while you're at the game. I
01:59 Mean, I I've always respected bills mafia and I was glad I was glad that they've kind of welcomed me in for that day
02:07 and it
02:10 All was going great. They seemed really cool until everything until
02:14 Freaking Tyler Bass missed the field goal and then obviously it was quite a change of attitude
02:18 and then the one thing I was frustrated about was I get interviewed by local news in Buffalo and
02:25 they're doing like a segment about
02:28 you know bills fans and their reactions and
02:31 They interview me and I give my raw like my feel like how I was feeling
02:37 I give my reaction and not not only do they cut it out of the segment on TV
02:42 But the clips they used was all just a bunch of fake bullshit of just like well
02:48 Fans just being only like a little disappointed and not not the fans telling their true feelings
02:53 About just how disappointed that the team continuously lets them down. So that was a little frustrating
02:59 But other than that bills mafia was pretty great. I jumped through a table, which was fun
03:03 So well, I I jumped on a table and then the table fell I didn't make it through it
03:09 But it was it was fun. Now. This wasn't the first time you went viral
03:12 You went viral back in May leading up to your bosses Jake Paul's fight with Nate Diaz
03:18 I Jake did hit that he was gonna fire you after all that went down or there was talk
03:22 So you getting fired? How were you able to keep your job after that?
03:25 yeah, I mean those conversations aren't easy after I do something like, you know what I did, but
03:30 They know they can't fire me I mean like I'm the face of the company I
03:36 I'm on their number one picks guy. I'm a professional boxer
03:41 I give it I give them everything and they know Jake knew he couldn't fire me
03:47 So it was all I I call his bluff and he did not and here I am, you know half a year later
03:53 Still I'm happy happy to see you're still here. Um
03:56 Now what where did where's your feud stand with the Diaz brothers because I obviously
04:02 You you made some comments. Have you had any interaction with them? Have you seen them at any other events?
04:08 Are you kind of are you ever looking over your shoulder if he might be around or Nate might be around? I
04:15 Haven't had any other interactions with them, but we had you know at the second press conference
04:21 I asked another question and it went similarly to the first
04:25 And now when I I probably took a little too far
04:29 But other than that, no, no no interaction with them. Let's talk about your boss Jake Paul, obviously
04:37 He's competing in the ring. He's kind of built an empire. He's managing Amanda Serrano
04:43 What's it like working for him and kind of being involved with someone who's kind of growing a company the way he is
04:49 yeah, I mean it's it's uh
04:53 It's great. He's a nice guy. But I I mean, yeah. Yeah. He's a he's a really nice guy
04:59 Does he have does he help you at all as far as your boxing training is involved does he give you pointers is he is
05:07 He helping you train in the gym at all
05:09 He's been super helpful every step of the way
05:12 Whether it's handling the media or or boxing he's been super helpful
05:16 I was on your social media pages. You are actually training pretty hard
05:20 Are you are you looking to compete in the ring soon? Should we be looking out for a fight amounts now the future?
05:26 1000% something's in the works. I can't reveal it now, but stay tuned stay tuned
05:32 Y'all gonna be entertained and I'm I'm gonna knock somebody out
