00:03 Here are some of the best places to visit in 2024.

00:11 Here at Afar, we're pretty opinionated.
00:17 And of course, we love to travel.
00:19 So every November, December, we share
00:21 what we think are the best places
00:22 to visit in the year ahead.
00:24 And this year, we've got 25 places
00:26 because there are just so many cool things happening
00:28 around the world.
00:28 And while we can't get into all of them in this video,
00:31 head over to afar.com or click the link in the description
00:34 for the full list.

00:38 This upcoming February, LA is going
00:40 to open the largest public black art project in the country.
00:45 It's going to be through an open air museum called
00:47 Destination Crenshaw.
00:48 On top of that, new restaurants are popping up
00:51 all over the city.
00:54 Manchester's arts and culture scene
00:56 is definitely one to watch right now.
00:59 And it got even better when Factory International opened
01:02 a permanent year-round art space for multimedia performances
01:05 and out there events a few months ago.

01:09 Visit Lamu Island off the coast of Kenya
01:12 for its unique Swahili-style architecture, winding streets,
01:15 and golden beaches.
01:16 Take a wooden thousand sailboat out at sunset
01:18 and admire the mangrove forests and peaceful atmosphere.

01:24 Fiji is a leader in marine conservation,
01:27 with resorts planting mangroves and restoring coral reefs.
01:30 You can take part in many of these sustainable efforts,
01:33 especially now that several resorts even
01:35 have in-house marine biologists.

01:40 Sankits used to be known for its sugar and rum industries,
01:42 which employed enslaved Africans.
01:45 Travelers coming to the Caribbean island in 2024
01:48 can taste and explore the complex history
01:50 of Ketishan rum making with locally owned companies
01:52 like Old Road Rum.

01:56 Starting in 2024, there are going
01:58 to be many new ways to experience Norway
02:00 beyond the classic Northern Lights trip.
02:03 And you'll definitely want to come to the country hungry,
02:06 because 2024 is also the 20th anniversary of the New Nordic
02:09 Food Manifesto.
02:12 If you love the outdoors, Bhutan is the place for you.
02:16 I mean, the Himalayan mountains are right there.
02:19 And if the remote villages and centuries-old fortresses
02:22 of the Trans-Bhutan Trail aren't enough to convince you to come,
02:25 the country actually lowered its fee to $100 a day
02:28 to attract more travelers.
02:31 Toronto has some of the most exciting festivals in 2024,
02:35 like the Indigenous Fashion Arts Festival and the Toronto
02:38 Caribbean Carnival.
02:39 The restaurant scene is known to be
02:41 just as diverse with places like Little Jamaica and Little
02:44 Tibet, which is no surprise considering that around 180
02:47 languages are spoken here.
02:51 Many people come to Rome to check off bucket list places
02:53 like the Vatican or the Colosseum.
02:55 But thanks to a whole bunch of luxury hotel openings in 2023,
02:59 staying longer is looking better and better.
03:03 So do you have a trip planned to any of these destinations?
03:07 Let us know in the comments below.
03:09 Thanks for watching, and happy travels.
