00:04 Derbyshire Police have launched an investigation into an assault in Chesterfield, which left
00:08 a man with serious facial injuries. The incident is believed to have happened at around 10.30pm
00:14 on Saturday, at an area at the side of the Three Horseshoes pub, just off the corner
00:18 of High Street and Fulgham Road in Brimmington. A man suffered serious facial injuries and
00:24 was taken to hospital for treatment, but was later discharged. Two men, aged 36 and 32,
00:30 were arrested on the same evening on suspicion of assault. They have been released on police
00:35 bail while enquiries continue. Officers would like to hear from any witnesses who may have
00:40 been in the area at the time of the incident, or have information which could help with
00:44 their enquiries.
00:46 MP Mark Fletcher says that opposition to the proposed Clown Garden Village housing development
00:53 cannot be ignored by Bolsover District Council. The authority is currently considering Waystone's
00:58 planning application for the Clown Garden Village housing scheme, which would see them
01:02 build 1,800 properties with 24 hectares of green felled land, as well as community and
01:08 commercial facilities between Clown and Bulborough. MP Mr Fletcher says that the planning application
01:14 has attracted hundreds of objections, with 1,300 people signing a Clown Garden Village
01:19 Action Group petition against the idea, and he added that his own survey has found that
01:24 95% of 276 residents who answered his questions said that they were opposed to the development
01:30 as well.
